An exhibition featuring some 80 sculptural forms created by National Artist for Visual Arts Napoleon Abueva in the span of his productive creative years from 1951 to 2009.
Cid Reyes in the book Abueva sums it all up: after almost 60 years and more than 600 works to his name, Abueva, through decades of unswerving commitment, created modernistic sculptures of significant form, transcending and eventually transmuting his earlier influences. His achievements justify the signal honor of being the youngest, at 46, to be conferred in 1976, the highest title of National Artist for Sculpture.
Abueva still manages to direct the studio works for him by his son Mulawin, after a stroke debilitated him in 2008.
