Jen took the board through the minutes

Anthony told the board that Your Voice,

Your Choice won an award for Health and

Living Well

The BIG group looked at the transport

policy but it was not the best time

They will try again

The minutes were agreed

group

The BIG group have put together a work

plan for the next year based on what they

learnt at conference

The core group make the decisions

There are 7 BIG meetings across Knowsley

Each of the day services, non-day service

and Acorn Farm all have their own meetings

There are 5 themes

Health, finance, transport, living well and

employment

The BIG group sets the agenda for the

partnership board

That is just Knowsley

BIG also works on a regional level which

contributes to national work

They go to Manchester for the regional

forum and there is also the Being Safe and

Living Well group

3 priorities were picked at conference

1. Living well, being safe and staying

healthy

They all fit in well with priorities of

Knowsley Council and Clinical Commissioning

Group

Co-production was highlighted

Lisa and Anthony have been working with

Constable Al Russo to become hate crime

ambassadors

Lisa and Anthony will run the surgeries in

the day centres

Knowsley is the only area doing this and

other police forces have asked Con. Al

Russo about their work

They have begun work with the cancer

screening co-ordinator

2. Deprivation of Liberties

Information was received on this at the

Blackpool Conference

BIG will do some workshops to look at this

Mersey are the 3 delivery hubs

The self-advocates are working with Mid-

We are working with Halton

There is also lots of work that happens

accessibility guides

Consultation sessions are happening this

week

700 venues will be assessed

It takes into account many disabilities

Community members can put forward

suggestions for venues

It’s updated every year

It is very detailed

There is an opportunity to take part in the

work experience side

There are 10 places available

Training will take place in September

If you don’t like the training you don’t have

to do the visits

The venue that has been assessed will get a

copy of the results

We can link it with the Livewell Knowsley

website

Mark suggested those good venues could

get stickers

Jill said that was part of it

Surveying the venues will take place in

October and November

6. Community Services – Service User

In the SAF access to leisure was amber

A questionnaire was done by Peter, Chris

and Alison

It should be used when accessing leisure

centres

Jan asked about including a question on

carers access

This can be a barrier to access for some

people

Mark said no – it is the law to provide

reasonable access

Jill said sometimes very simple things can

be done to make a big difference

7. Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy

The Health and Wellbeing Board are

developing their Joint Health and Wellbeing

Strategy

They want to know what we think about;

Jill said they are currently looking at the

supported living model

Sheila said they had spoken about mental

health and dpression at the day centre

This subject was welcome and the results

were amazing

Anthony said the safeguarding alerter

training is really good

Rachel had information on oral health

There will be a stakeholder event
