1 Call the PJCC at 650.212.7522 and ask to speak with a program assistant. Any fees may be paid by credit card.

2. You may register for programs that do not involve transportation online using the PJCC web site: www.pjcc.org. Click on “Register Online for Classes.” When you find a program in which you are interested, add that course to your basket and follow the instructions to obtain a Login ID and PIN.

3. You may mail in a check. Be sure to include a note with your name, address and phone number, and the Code for the program. If there is transportation involved, please indicate your pick-up location and seating request if applicable.

Get Up & Go is an activity and errand-transportation service for older adults who no longer drive. Programs without transportation are open to all adults. Programs are free for Get Up & Go regular participants and PJCC members and $5 for the public. A low cost lunch is served at 12:00 pm. Advance registration required. From the gorgeous paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe, the photographs of Minor White and Ansel Adams, to the environmental earthworks of Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Marlene Aron will present an exploration of those artists who celebrate nature in their work. Errand/Appointment Transportation for Non-Driving Older Adults Every Monday, Tuesday and Friday, Get Up & Go provides transportation within San Mateo County for non-driving older adults for medical and personal appointments, shopping and other destinations. Shared-ride service is available for $6 round trip or $3 one-way. Volunteer escorts are available. Reservations are required no later than the Wednesday of the week prior to the date of service. November 7 Publicity was scarce in ancient times, so you may never have heard of Lilith, Jepthah’s daughter or Beruriah, famous Jewish women in their time, whom history has often neglected.

November 21 Hear what Jewish law, midrash and tradition have to say about the roles of women in general; what was permitted and forbidden, with a special emphasis on marriage, sex and family.

Both programs are presented by educator and author Rebecca Schwartz. Rebecca is the District Leadership Manager for the Union for Reform Judaism. She has a Master of Arts in Modern Jewish History and has worked for a variety of Jewish and non-Jewish organizations, with a passion for women’s issues and social action. It is an effective technique for stress reduction. It brings balance, rest and a growing inner peace, and contributes to physical, emotional and mental well- being. Meditation can also give us direct, intuitive experience of higher realities. Drawing on the experience of mindfulness and on insights of the Jewish spiritual path, we will give ourselves the gift of wellness through meditation. This class is open to all, Jews and non-Jews alike, and includes simple and basic instructions in the practice of meditation. No class 11/24,12/22, 12/29.

Do you love to sing? Come join our new PJCC Community Chorus. We’re looking for all voice parts. We’ll sing everything from classical to international folk songs with some musical theater thrown in for fun. No musical training is necessary, just the ability to carry a tune.

Instructor: Deborah Rosengaus, choir director, opera singer, and vocal teacher holds a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. She is currently singing with The Pocket Opera of San Francisco and San Jose Opera.

Learn how artists use their art to reflect themselves and their

ideas about the world. In each session, you’ll examine a work by a well known artist and then use different media to create your own work based on that artist’s style. No experience necessary. Materials are included in class fee.
