THE NARROW

Someone asked Jesus,

"Lord, is it true that there are

few who are saved?"

It seems that some of us,

who we feel good, would have

liked Jesus to have answered

affirmatively in a categorical

way: "yes; there are few who

are saved "and would have

jumped of joy if added," and you are one of those few.” This would have flattered our

vanity and exalted our selfishness. But Jesus did not answer in that way, he told us

about the narrow gate, and he also told us that many will come from everywhere to

participate in the heavenly banquet. The banquet tables in the heavenly sky are many

and there is no danger in that they remain empty because God's mercy is boundless and

the human correspondence to that mercy either, because it is a gift from God. They are

many who are saved!

When the priest consecrates the wine he says: "Take and drink all of it, because this is the cup

of my blood of the new and eternal covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of

sins. Do this in remembrance of me. "That", for many means, “for all ". Jesus died to redeem all men of

all time. Each of us have been saved at the price of blood; we have been a sacrifice for Christ, we are

of him, and how will Jesus fight for us who are his. What would He not do to not lose a single one of

those he redeemed himself with so much pain?

The Church teaches that every man, regardless of creed or lack of creed, receives special

attention from God in order to their salvation and are continually bombarded by divine grace, of that

grace we call true, to repent and to change. Therefore the Church teaches us that we cannot guarantee

that someone has been convicted.

Hell exists and we cannot doubt that within the human stubbornness there are some who prefer

to be with God. Hell is a free choice of the man who is taking gradually over their own life, to the extent

that man rejects God and refuses to do his will, to the extent that man dethrones God and he himself

sits on his throne.

But the heavens exist as destiny of all men dictated by the love of God and

although the gate of heaven is narrow, it becomes easy access to heaven because God

leads us by the hand, as a father to his son, to pass to heaven which is a gift of God to

man.

It is only up to us to get carried away by the hand of the Father with docility and

love.

LA PUERTA ANGOSTA

Alguien le preguntó a Jesús: “Señor, ¿es verdad que son pocos los que se salvan?”

Tal parece que a algunos de nosotros, los que nos sentimos buenos, nos gustaría que Jesús hubiera contestado afirmativamente de una forma

categórica: “sí; son pocos los que se salvan”, y saltaríamos de gozo si añadiera: “y tú eres uno de esos pocos”. Esto halagaría nuestra vanidad y exaltaría nuestro egoísmo. Pero Jesús no contestó así, nos habló de la puerta angosta, pero también nos habló de que vendrán muchos de todos lados y participarán del banquete celestial. Las mesas del banquete en el cielo son muchas y no hay peligro de que se queden vacías porque la misericordia de Dios no tiene límites y la correspondencia humana a esa misericordia tampoco, porque es un don de Dios. ¡Son muchos los que se salvan!

Cuando el sacerdote consagra el vino dice: “Tomen y beban todos de él, porque este es el cáliz de mi Sangre, Sangre de la alianza nueva y eterna, que será derramada por ustedes y por muchos para el perdón de los pecados. Hagan esto en conmemoración mía.” Ese “por muchos” se entiende “por todos”. Jesús murió para redimirnos a todos los hombres de todos los tiempos. Cada uno de nosotros ha sido salvado a precio de sangre; le hemos costado mucho a Cristo, somos de él, ¡cómo luchará Jesús para que nos salvemos los que somos suyos!, qué no hará para que no se pierda ni uno solo de los que él redimió con tanto dolor.

La Iglesia nos enseña que cada hombre, sin importar su credo o su falta de credo, recibe una especial atención de Dios en orden a su salvación y es bombardeado continuamente por la gracia divina, por esa gracia que llamamos actual, para que se arrepienta y se convierta. Por eso la Iglesia nos enseña que no podemos asegurar que alguien se haya condenado.

Existe el infierno y no podemos dudar que dentro de la terquedad humana haya algunos que lo prefieran a estar con Dios. El infierno es una opción libre del hombre que se va tomando poco a poco a lo largo de la vida misma en la medida en que el hombre rechaza a Dios y se niega a hacer su voluntad, en la medida en que el hombre destrona a Dios y se sienta a sí mismo en su trono.

Pero existe el cielo como destino de todo hombre dictado por el amor de Dios y, aunque la puerta del cielo es estrecha, se nos hace fácil el acceso al cielo porque Dios mismo nos conduce de la mano, como un padre a su hijito, hasta pasar a ese cielo que es regalo de Dios inmerecido por el hombre.

A nosotros sólo nos toca dejarnos llevar de la mano del Padre con docilidad y amor.

para “Bishop Ministry Appeal”. Le agradecemos por su

donación!

MISA EN LEE VINING CADA MIERCOLES..- Para que los que no pueden asistir a Misa los

Domingos debido a su trabajo. Tienen ahora la oportunidad de

asistir a Misa todos los Miércoles a las 7 p.m. en la Capilla de Nuestro Salvador de las Montañas. No olvides de asistir a las

pláticas de Conociendo la Fe ese mismo día a las 5:30 p.m.

PICNIC PARROQUIAL.-

Nuestro picnic anual se llevará a cabo en Lee Vining el 21 de agosto a las 2 p.m. Por favor

acompáñenos en este convivio con toda su familia , y lleve un

plato delicioso para compartir . ¡Esperamos verlos ah
