To all of you that contributed to United Way of Monroe County’s 2017 campaign: thank you. Because of you, United Way is creating lasting, positive change in Monroe County. We do so by working together with community partners to address complex problems in Monroe County that cannot be solved by any single individual or organization. Today more than ever, we need to come together. To combine our passion and dedication to bring about the kind of change that can only happen when people are united in purpose.
Our 2016 Community Needs Assessment revealed financial stability as the root cause of most of our community service issues in Monroe County. Trying to address the complex problems associated with poverty can only be achieved when we work together: from childhood hunger, to homelessness, to a lack of affordable quality child care, to simply not knowing how to access services that are available in our community.
United Way can’t do it alone. Our partners can’t do it alone. Companies, individuals or the government can’t do it alone. But together - United Way, our partners, community leaders, our nationwide network of resources and shared best practices, and our donors - we ARE making a meaningful impact in our community.
Last year, thanks to your support and the combined efforts of United Way and our partners, we helped over 35,000 people in need in Monroe County. This year, our annual revenue is forecast to be the most it has been since 2010, marking a significant achievement that will enable United Way and our partners to serve more people and realize long term positive outcomes for our community.
