The majority of our projects have been carried out on a design and build basis where we self-perform the detailed design, construction and certification. DRILLING TECHNOLOGIES & CAPABILITIES Our drilling technologies and capabilities Include:

Excavator track mounted drilling rigs 1.5ton - 36ton to suit all access and height requirements/restrictions of the project.

High production drilling rigs with built on compressor. Capable of drilling 200m - 300m per day with a vast range of movement and reach.

Rope access drilling rigs for difficult access. We have highly trained and experienced staff that can carry out this work on small and large projects.

Light weight drill masts adaptable to excavators or frames. Suitable for smaller or hard to get to sites were larger machinery cannot gain access.

Top hammer drilling units capable of running air percussion, casing, water, driven anchors and self-drillers.

DTH hammer drilling capabilities in various sizes.

Rotary drilling units capable of running blade/air, augers, water injection, jet grouting, self-drillers and casing.

High torque rotation units for high production drilling and large hole drilling, 75mm - 500mm.

Longer drill masts for high productivity, this requires less rod changes.

Articulated swivels for vast range of movement and accessibility.

SOIL NAILS & ROCK BOLTS Our specialised drilling equipment allows for high production installation of soil nails capable of drilling into virtually any geological conditions. We are able to install all types of soil nails and rock bolts in any bar type and size. As well as self-drilling applications and earth driven anchors in all types and sizes to required depths. We have the ability to prefabricate and manufacture pre grouted double corrosion anchors.

SELF-DRILLING ANCHORS Our drilling equipment is adaptable to all self-drilling rod types. With its vast range of movement this operation is suitable for quick installation, single step anchoring system, and eliminates the need for casing in collapsing soils. Various corrosion protection systems are available upon request to meet specification requirements.

EARTH DRIVEN ANCHORS Our in house expertise and extensive range of plant sets us apart in this competitive market with this easy to install system. We have the ability to adapt tooling onto all of our drilling equipment to allow for quick installation of all earth driven anchors of different sizes and depths. This installation and anchoring system has multiple benefits and is used in many applications worldwide.

GROUND ANCHORS Ground anchors are used for a variety of applications in civil engineering to stabilise natural or cut slopes. With over 10 years experience in the anchoring industry we are up to date with industry advancements and can carry out installation, grouting and testing of either temporary, permanent or removable strand and bar anchors.

Hiway Geotechnical has many different slope treatment systems available, from basic erosion controls through to serious stabilisation systems that require drilling and anchoring so the mesh can be tensioned into the face to provide surficial support between the anchors.

ROPE ACCESS This is a specialised field of geotechnical civil engineering. Rope access work is manual and requires highly qualified personnel with excellent fitness. We offer experienced and trained rope access staff that are able to work nationwide. This option is suitable where access to sites is difficult. Aggregate modification reduces the need for new aggregates, improves the strength of the existing pavement and can be implemented quickly to reduce inconvenience to motorists.

MICRO-PILING Our drilling capabilities allow us to drill micro piles down to the required depths specified by the design engineer and we have numerous casing systems available for unstable soils. Designs with diameters between 100mm and 400mm can be constructed with reinforcing cages, permanent liners, circular hollow sections, and self-drilled micro piles or grouted with a centralised bar achieving high shear, compressive and tensile working loads.

GROUTING Hiway Geotechnical has leading edge grouting knowledge and experience. With almost 30 years experience in the cement stabilisation industry we have a broad range of grouting equipment and plant that can adapt to low and high (up to 7000psi) pressure grouting as per project requirements.

DRAINAGE We are capable of drilling and installing drainage pipes to depths in excess of 100m. Our wide range of drilling equipment allows for greater versatility in all aspects of the job including heights, rope access, and low head room. We provide innovative drilling solutions to assist our clients with any project.

RETAINING WALLS Hiway Geotechnical can assist with the design and construction of a wide variety of retaining walls for infrastructure projects, road slip reinstatements and residential structures. Our crews are experienced in the following: Micro piled anchored walls, timber post and panel walls, reinforced concrete walls, masonry block retaining walls, GCS walls and soil nail and shotcrete walls.
