WHAT IS LAW ?Law is defined as the body of official rules and regulations which is generally found in legislations, constitutions and judicial opinions.

TYPES OF LAWS
There are five types of laws:

COMMON LAWThe law which is derived from custom and judicial precedent rather than the
statutes is known as common law.
Examples: Pakistan, USA and UK
CIVIL LAWThe law which is concerned with private
relations between the members of a community is known as civil law.
Examples: France, China and Africa
PLURALISTIC SYSTEMThere are some countries which follow
two types of laws.
Examples: Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Malaysia
RELIGIOUS LAWThe third most used legal system of the
world is Religious Law System.
Examples: Saudi Arabia, Vatican City and Iran
HYBRID SYSTEMThe hybrid system is a mixture of different
legal systems.
Example: India
