El Sueo de Ivan Ivans Dream (1:00pm): El Sueo de Ivan tells thestory of Ivan, who gets chosen to play in the first ever exhibition game

between children and pro futbolistas. His rival gets chosen too. He finds

himself competing against his rival on the field, and for the affection of

the girl of his dreams, Paula.

Pelotero - Ballplayer (3:00pm):This compelling documentary

narrated by John Leguizamo (Moulin Rouge, Ice Age, Carlito's Way) is a

gritty and rare look inside Major League Baseball's (MLB)

recruitment of top talent in the Dominican Republic. Miguel Angel Sano

and Jean Carlos Batista are among 100,000 teenagers vying for a handfulof coveted contracts with MLB teams. As they turn 16 years old and

become eligible to sign, each must navigate the fiercely competitive and

frequently corrupt system if they are to lift their families out of poverty

and achieve their dream: to one day play in the Major Leagues.

Filmmakers Ross Finkel, Trevor Martin and Jon Paley take you inside

this never before seen world for an up close and personal look at the cost

    of the American dream.

La Clave (4:45pm):La Clave is a fascinating musical documentary film

about the similarities between two types of music genres known today asSalsa and Reggaeton. In this film, we were fortunate enough to have

gathered the hottest stars of Reggaeton as well as the old school greats of

salsa. We have interviewed salsa icons such as Willie Colon, Ismael

Miranda, Gilberto SantaRosa, and on the Reggaeton side we interviewed

billboard chart topping artists such as Julio Voltio, Tego Calderon,

Hector El Father just to name a few.

America (6:30pm):While the setting of her Caribbean beach village

seems picture-perfect, America's life is anything but peaceful. When

their daughter runs away, America's abusive lover unleashes his rageagainst her. Leaving everything behind, America escapes to New York

City hoping for a new life. There she works as a nanny for a wealthy

family and at night in a laundry. She befriends three nannies -a Mexican,

a Colombian and a Dominican- and with their help and support from

relatives in the Bronx, America is determined to bring her daughter back

to her. But her past haunts her. America must confront her terror to

    protect her dream .

The devastangly low test resultsfor the Rochester City School District(RCSD) came of no surprise accordingto Mayor Richards. He said mostknow that the RCSD has had severalproblems and shouldnt be used as anopportunity to spout big talk of a oneway soluon.

The set of scores arms what wealready know, but they should not beused as an opportunity for policalposturing or to throw the RCSD intoturmoil, Richards said. Bewareof policians oering silver bulletsoluons; we have had too much ofthat and look at the results.

New York State has recentlyimplemented a harder standardizedtest as part of the new Common Corecurriculum. The test now requires morecrical thinking and wring which somehave said is the reason behind the lowscores. Richards said the problem is alack of consistency.

I have long felt that it is in the bestinterests of Rochesters students toprovide them with stability, Richardssaid. Part of what has caused theproblem is that every couple of yearswe have changed Superintendents, instuted dierent school plans thathave failed and moved our children tolocaons all over the city. Our studentsneed consistency and not adultsclaiming to have a single best soluon.

Richards has been endorsed by theRochester Teachers Associaon and

says having the teachers support is apriority.

My opponent advocates bringing themix of Charter to public schools up to50:50, Richards said. I am concernedabout what would happen to the 50percent of students who would thenremain in public schools and whetherthere would be adequate resources tosupport them. I also have to quesonhow one can put forth a plan onreforming the school district withoutworking with the teachers.

Expanding the school day andthe Universal Pre-K program, coordinang City recreaon centersand libraries with the school districtand implemenng aendance eortsare strategies that Richards said haveimproved the school district.

In addion to these eorts, myeducaon plan supports havingchildren read at grade level by thirdgrade and combang summer learningloss, Richards said. This is hardlythe status quo. These are signicantchanges that over me will pay studentachievement dividends.

Richards said adults need to unite forthe school district. Schools need tobe places where children feel safeand free to learn, Richards said. Itsme for adults to stop ghng, stoppoinng ngers, come together andget back to basics and x this problem. And thats exactly the course Ive takensince becoming Mayor.

    inversin, XITO!

For any individual or family buyinga property could be a high priority, but at the same me it is a long-term responsibility. People can getthe mortgage of their property interms of een, twenty or thirtyyear amorzaon. Most commonlyis to see thirty-year payments whereusually our monthly payments aremore reasonable, but the ulmate costin interest payments may be higher. However, with some adjustments wecan reduce years to our mortgagepayment while at the same memaking signicant savings on interest.

Among the opons, making a solidinial down payment and makingconsistent contribuons towards theprincipal are cost-eecve. You mayprobably wonder how you can dothis. Take the amount of your monthlypayment and divide it by twelve, the

amount obtained will be the addionalcontribuon to the principal. You willnot only be making your usual monthlypayment but you will be providing anaddional payment per year whichwill directly aect your mortgage. This payment will help reduce theprincipal balance of your mortgage andtherefore future interest payment.

Please note that to make this directcontribuon to the principal youshould consult your banking instuonon the process. This transacon mustbe performed usually in person;otherwise, the addional contribuon

will not be recorded as a credit to theprincipal. On the other hand, if youdecide to do this you can evaluate howthe principal on your annual mortgageis being aected. Ask your instuonfor a history record of your mortgagepayments and compare it year aeryear this way you can see andmonitor the results of your addionalcontribuon.

Also take note that the monthlypayments that are made during theearly years of the loan have a minimalaect on the principal; praccally, theenre amount paid is credited to theinterest calculated. Aer the rst fewyears is when you can to noce partof your monthly contribuon, whichaects the principal balance. If you decide to simultaneously makemonthly payments towards yourprincipal for the duraon of the loan,

you will see on the long run signicantsavings. You will noce these savingsin the decrease of years to pay, savingsin interest previously calculated andtherefore a further reducon of yourmonthly payment. However, beforepurchasing a property orient yourselfwith various mortgage representaves, check out available mortgage deals, whats the current interest in themarket, and other costs involved inthe process. Remember that buying aproperty is an important decision and agreat investment! I wish you SUCCESS!

pimiento rojo o amarillo y naranjas

    cortadas en rodajas acompaadas deyogur.

How to ake Healthy hool Lhes for or chldreBeing a parent oen requires a non-stop juggling roune that beginswith morning carpool and ends withbedme stories. In the rush to get yourchildren to school, its important not toforget the value of preparing them ahealthy lunch.

It isnt as me consuming as it seems.LetsMove.gov, an iniave by First LadyMichelle Obama, oers good advice on

healthy eang for children. But you canalso follow these easy ps:

Switch white bread for whole grain: Ifsandwiches are a staple in your childslunch, the easiest way to make a changeis to substute whole grain bread forwhite. There are many variees outthere to please even the pickiest eater. You can also substute our torllaswith wheat ones and white pita withwhole grain. Fill them with proteins liketurkey slices and cheese. If your childprefers warm food in a thermos, youcan ll it with brown rice, whole grainpasta and even oatmeal.

Pack a rainbow: Fruits and vegetables

are great sources of nutrion. Makefruits and vegetables more interesng.Pack green and purple grapes orcolorful berries, dried apricots, mangos, cut red and orange peppersinto strips and send them with a fundipping sauce like hummus or yogurtand send oranges already peeled andsliced. The preer the presentaon, the higher the chances are your childwill reach for it.

Water, water, water: Juice may seemharmless, especially since the labelsread things like packed with fruit. But juice adds a lot of unnecessarysugar and calories to your childs diet.Consider rethinking what they drink

and send a bole of water along with,or instead of, the juice box. Not only

does drinking water eliminate extrasugar from their diet, but it also keepschildren from geng dehydratedthroughout the day. Low-fat milk is alsoa good idea since it provides calciumand protein.

Think about temperature: Wouldyou eat warm yogurt or cold rice? The temperature inside your childslunchbox is just as important as what

is inside. Keep hot foods warm bysending them in a thermos, it helps ifyou rst ll it with boiling water for twominutes to retain some heat. Keep colditems like cheese or hardboiled eggscool by using ice packs. You can alsouse a rellable water bole lled withice cubes to keep things fresh, plus itwill provide drinking water at the sameme!

Plan ahead: Making a healthy lunchdoes take some thought, but themorning rush, when everyones tryingto get out the door, isnt the best meto get creave. Try to make a rouneof packing some items the nightbefore. Cung up fruit, pre-making

sandwiches, boiling whole grain pastaare all me-saving steps. Another goodhabit is to make weekly shopping lists(PDF), so youre not stuck searchingthe cupboard for last-minute andunhealthy opons.SOURCE: usa.gov

    In 1978,P r e s i d e n tJimmy Caterp r o c l a i m e dthe rstGrandparents

    Day to becelebrated therst Sundayaer LaborDay. MarianM c Q u a d e ,a housewife

    from WestV i r g i n i a

originated the day with the hopesto persuade grandchildren to tapthe wisdom and heritage theirgrandparents could provide. What aningenious way to honor those that helpmold our communies and who provideus with love and understanding.

I had the privilege to meet and even

live with my maternal grandparents inPuerto Rico during my youth. Althoughthey barely le the house and neverwatched TV, they were prime examplesof true love and commitment. Theirdaily rituals and faith in God helpedthem take good care of each other unl

    the very end.

Although my two grandmothers werevery dierent in many ways; they bothwere strong and determined women. They knew when to give advice and

always gave it with this great sense ofhumor. They both knew how to curea belly ache or neck cramp with herbsand rubs. And they both would kill achicken in a second and slaughteringa pig for a roast was an everyday task. They both outlived their husbands, yetthey faced each challenge courageouslyand learned to adapt to the new mes.

My mother who was grandmother of19 grandchildren and over 23 great-grandchildren is remembered by herkind and thoughul acts. She alwaysremembered her grandchildrensbirthdays and made it a point to givethem a small token of love. She toowas known for her good cooking and

wealth of advice. She had a name ofendearment for all her grandchildrenwhich made each of them feel superspecial.

Grandparents Day (September 8th,2013) makes me think of what legacy

and memories will I be leaving mygranddaughter. Unfortunately, Tashyloss her paternal grandmother andmaternal grandfather within the last 3years. Therefore; its really up to me toprovide her with the great experiences

and fond memories she should havefrom her grandparents.

Although Tashy is only six years old,she and I oen have long conversaonson topics that interest her. I am hercuddling buddy while watching herfavorite TV shows; we enjoy cooking, dancing and playing together.Somemes she even enjoys going to ameeng with me. Tashy has seen mework long hours at my job, as well aslabor intense cleaning and repairingin the house we just moved in to. Shehas seen me wipe a tear and put on asmile and she has seen me fall and getback up. It is my hope that she seesin me the same qualies I saw in my

grandparents; strength, determinaonand courage. So if you didnt know about theNaonal Grandparent Day, it is not lateto pay your grandparent a visit. If youare a grandparent, its sll not late tostart creang those fond memories

    with your grandchildren.

Remember, you are your childs rstteacher and best advocate.
