Funnel · Munich Dunkel Lager Fifth Street Brewpub · 4.3% ABV · 22 IBUs Oh, the joys of auto-correct. After FSB Brewmaster Darren Link used his own recipe for an authentic Munich Dunkel to win the 2009 Dayton DRAFT Homebrew Club Best of Show award, Gordon Strong, the current president and highest-ranking judge in the Beer Judge Certification Program, honored him by including that recipe in his highly regarded book ""Modern Homebrew Recipes". While corresponding about the beer through email, Strong's program changed "Dunkel" to "Funnel", and the name of the beer became inevitable. Funnel was crafted on FSB's seven-barrel brewing system and originally released to celebrate the sixth birthday of Ohio's only co-operative brewpub. The Munich Dunkel lager style offers a beer that is smooth, rich, and complex, but without being heady or heavy. Presenting a brilliant ruby hue from the copious amount of Munich malts used during brewing, these malts also create a fuller- bodied beer. From the aroma through the taste, you'll encounter a moist, yeasty, dense bowl of rather coarse dark brown bread dough just begging for the oven, with the finish cleansed by just a touch of earthy and mild East Kent Golding hops. Its relatively low ABV also means you can enjoy several pints savoring the taste, making this a true session beer. 16 oz. glass 16 oz. flip-top 32 oz. howler 64 oz. growler 6.00 6.00 10.00 18.00 House Taps A rotating selection of hand-crafted beers made in the FSB Brewhouse for your enjoyment by Brewmaster Darren Link. Why, a Damn Dam, of course. Brewed with a German Pilsner base, no hops were used in the boil. Instead, a thunderstorm of Mosaic cryo & Idaho 7 hops were added during the whirlpool of the wort to produce an intense aroma of pineapple and other tropical nuances along with pungent earthy herbal pine notes. Pollinator · Bock - DoppelbockFifth Street Brewpub · 10.0% ABV · 22 IBUsBrewmaster Darren Link selected this standout from the Best of Show table at the 2018 DRAFThomebrew competition and experienced homebrewer Mike McCaffrey assisted in the production ofhis recipe for the Fifth Street batch. Brewed with an absurd amount of malts and 60 lbs. of localhoney from Nate's Nectar, Mike’s twist on a traditional Doppelbock presents a prominent floral andraisin nose with dark stone fruit flavors. Malty and sweet, but not cloying, its richness finishes witha pleasant alcohol warmth.
