1 – BIOLOGICAL PATCH

Firstly, project participants designed the

model

Then they built the support structures and

raised them up in a frame made out of

wooden crates


They put in the earth and the horticultural plantations (lettuce, strawberries, tomatoes, carrots and aromatic herbs


Plantations were replaced depending on the season of the year

The work was guided by Eng Paulo Coelho from the Centre for Justice Protocol

SINTRA STRAWBERRY FARM

They visited a Sintra strawberry and horticultural produce farm with local producers.

They picked up strawberries and brought them to the Sintra Prison for the workshop where participants could also taste them

We bought the horticultural produce for the workshop from the same local producers so that participants could taste these vegetables and the respective salad we made with them .


LITHUANIA

The inmates were taught to grow micro-sized greens on their windowsills.

talked about how to use fresh edible sprouts and taught inmates how to germinate seeds and

grow greens at home.

The inmates were given an opportunity to create beautiful, high-yield and diverse garden that is largely self-maintaining

The main purpose is to mantain the food, first materials, the cultivation and transformation techniques tought by past generations along time.

They show that life can be taken calmly, in order to take time to walk around this natural path and enjoy it, aknowling the values of traditional techniques and agriculture.

There is an Open-Market in the village of San Mateo which is openned on Saturdays and Sundays where you can find all these products.

We organized a trip to a village in which our Slow Food group works…

These pumpkin seeds are used to prevent small insects from destroying the agriculture
