PRESIDENT’S OCTOBER MESSAGE

Greetings Friends & Neighbors,

As I write this message we still have not met for our September dinner and it feels like a year since I’ve seen you all. I really look forward to seeing you and everyone again at the Moraga Hacienda de Las Flores for our annual BBQ catered by Back Forty. I have a feeling it will be one of our best. That’s my goal: To continue to improve our monthly dinners together in every way that may be possible. I have always hoped that someday I will be able to host a holiday party or some kind of event for all of us. Nothing would make me happier than to see all of us together in my home. God willing!

For our October entertainment we will be featuring actors from the Lafayette Town Hall Theatre. They are going to put together a performance especially for us.

In November we will honor our local police and fire personnel and in December the Tapestry Vocal ensemble will be performing for us. They are a group that performs around the Bay Area in the spring season and during the holidays. They have been together for 15 years. Their concerts consist of all genres of music. In particular, this holiday season they will be doing a little classical, but mostly secular, recognizable pieces.

Notes from the board meeting; it was brought to our attention that some of you are having trouble receiving emails from the Lamorinda Movers. There are a few possibilities as to why this is happening: 1) We may have an old email address for you. 2) We may have your address incorrect. 3) Your email server thinks that our emails are spam and sends them into your spam folder. If you use email and you are not receiving emails from us please let a board member know. The most efficient way to do this is for you to bring your current email address, including your name and other contact information on a business card or note card and hand it to the people at the check-in table at the next dinner you attend.

Sincerely,

Keith

TOWN HALL THEATRE

Where: Town Hall Theatre, 3535 School Street, Lafayette

THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA McBRIDE is a gender-defying, sweet and campy, hilarious, and heartfelt celebration of divas and difference! It’s showtime at Cleo’s Lounge, a dilapidated, small-time club in the Florida Panhandle. Casey’s got to get a new act together fast – he’s broke and his wife just told him there’s a baby on the way. Can a young Elvis impersonator transform himself into a platform-pump-panty-hose-wearing drag queen? In a wild flurry of costume magic and lip sync coaching, “Georgia McBride” is born - a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll. Matthew Lopez’s fabulously flamboyant comedy THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE will have 12 performances, including two previews, September 26 through October 19, 2019, at Town Hall Theatre Company, 3535 School Street, in Lafayette, CA. Tickets are $18 - $30 with discounts for Seniors and youth and are available through the Box Office at (925) 283-1557 or online at www.TownHallTheatre.com.
