Our Story

Over two years ago, our pastor, Frank Bennett, began asking God how he could make the most impact

to God’s Kingdom. Frank had been serving as Worship Pastor at Cartersville First Baptist when he

started this journey that would ultimately lead him to follow God’s call to pastor and plant a church. The

question was where? Frank formed an advisory team of five pastors that would pray and counsel him

during this transition. It was time to pray and watch to see where God was working in order to join Him.

Frank was introduced to a main developer of a sports complex being build in Bartow County, GA. This

gentleman shared his vision for LakePoint Sports and Town Center. But he was even more passionate

about reaching families with the Gospel. During this conversation, he asked Frank if he could start a

church to meet on the property of this development. Little did he know, that Frank was watching for a

clear word from God as to where to plant a church. God made it clear that Frank was to partner with

this development and several churches to plant Lake Point Church in Emerson, GA.

Frank and his family are not alone during this launch phase. One of the members of Frank’s advisory

team received confirmation of God’s call for him and his family to join in launching Lake Point Church.

Danny Crocker and his family moved from Houston, TX to join the Lake Point Team as Executive

Pastor. Danny brings much experience in church planting and ministry experience. David Coons,

another friend of Frank, is on board as a volunteer Connections Pastor to mobilize people for ministry

opportunities and connect them into the life of the church.

Frank and his team has been trained by The Launch Network, a premier church planting training and

assessment organization based out of Westridge Church in Dallas, GA. Over the next several months,

they will be organizing teams consisting of friends who have come on board to help launch Lake Point

Church.

The Bartow Baptist Association, the North American Mission Board, along with several churches,

companies and individuals are happy to present this exciting church plant coming to Bartow County,

GA. The official launch date is set for Sunday, February 10, 2013 at South Central Middle School. The

church will meet there until the LakePoint Sports development is ready to house Lake Point Church.

Follow the story. Be a part of the story God is writing…the story of Lake Point Church.

Our Calling

Danny Crocker comes on board as Executive Pastor. Danny is a church planter. He thrives on building teams and empowering people for successful ministry. Danny knows the value of engaging the church to have an impact in the community.

Frank and Danny served on a church staff together several years ago. They compliment one another in their ministry roles.

Danny and his wife, Lizanne, recently moved to Bartow County all the way from Houston with their three kids Christian (18), Hannah (15) and Micah (13). They have enjoyed getting to know the great people in Emerson and the surrounding area.

Bartow County, GA is positioned to be the next home to massive growth. It sits 40 miles northwest of Atlanta. There are several indicators of growth in our area even during these economic times. One such indicator of growth is the development of a massive $1 billion dollar sports complex to be built here in Bartow County. This development estimates to bring in approximately four million people a year with over 26,000 jobs. This development, LakePoint Sports and Town Center is backed by Bobby Cox, former manager of the Atlanta Braves. This will be the premier location for baseball, soccer and lacrosse

scouting in the country. It will include hotels, restaurants, entertainment and a movie theater. Check out the site at www.lakepointsports.com. Over the past two years, Frank and LakePoint Sports have become strategic partners to reach traveling sports families with the Gospel message. We are also partnering with FCA of Georgia, Upward Ministry and other churches. This door has been opened, and it’s time to walk through it. We need your help.

Danny Crocker, Executive Pastor

Bobby Cox likes Lake Point Church

Frank Bennett has been serving the body of Christ for more than 20 years. He grew up in Texas and received a degree in music at LSU in Baton Rouge. He and his wife, Suzanne, live in Georgia where he was serving as worship pastor at Cartersville First Baptist. Frank and Suzanne have six children, Madison (14), Landon (11), Logan (8), Lawson (8), Marion (7) and Lincoln (5). The three youngest were recently adopted from Ukraine.

Frank and Suzanne have been in a pursuit of God’s will. Over the past couple years, God has

been revealing His plan for Frank to start a church. After much prayer, Frank began to see God create opportunities in his own area. Frank has teamed up with Bartow Baptist Association, Cartersville First Baptist and LakePoint Sports to start a new church to reach the lost, the least and the lonely.

Our BeliefsHoly BibleThe Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26).

TrinityThere is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and co-eternal (I John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11).

Jesus ChristJesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1,14,20:28; I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; I Timothy 2:5).

SalvationWe are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22).

RepentanceRepentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ, which allows us to receive His redemption and to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Thus, through repentance we receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation (Acts 2:21, 3:19; I John 1:9).

SanctificationSanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to God’s Word and His Spirit in order to complete the development of Christ’s character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (I Thessalonians 4:3, 5:23; II Corinthians 3:18, 6:14-18, II Thessalonians 2:1-3, Romans 8:29, 12:1-2, Hebrews 2:11).

Blood of JesusThe Blood that Jesus Christ shed on the Cross of Calvary was sinless and is 100% sufficient to cleanse mankind of all sin. Jesus allowed Himself to be punished for both our sinfulness and our sins, enabling all those who believe to be free from the penalty of sin, which is death (I John 1:7; Revelation 1:5, 5:9; Colossians 1:20; Romans 3:10-12, 23, 5:9; John 1:29).

The ChurchThe church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23).

HeavenHeaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:3, 12,20, 6:20, 19:21, 25:34; John 17:24; II Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; I Peter 1:4).

HellAfter living one life on earth, the unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally tormented with the Devil and the Fallen Angels (Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48;Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8).

Second ComingJesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures (Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; I Thessalonians 4:15)

Our Mission At Lake Point Church, we point people to God through a relationship with Jesus Christ, His church and His world.

Our ValuesWhy we point people to God

Through meaningful relationships built through small groups, worship settings and serving opportunities, people will have freedom to trust those who are sharing the message of salvation.

Relationships

God’s Word

We value the words of God to define the boundaries of truth, show the clear path to salvation and provide a light in the darkness surrounding people’s lives. God’s word will be evident in all we do.

PrayerPrayer is the action that prepares the hearts to receive God’s gift of salvation. Prayer is integrated in every moment we have to point people to God.

ExcellenceWe believe evangelism will best happen in an environment of excellence. If we bring value to all we present and offer, then the very people we are trying to reach will value the message of salvation.

GenerosityWe teach our church family the eternal impact their generosity makes in the lives of people who need to cross the line to follow Jesus. Evangelism can flourish when the church is generous with their time, their talent and their treasure.

7

Page 8: Lake point church prospectus

Our StrategyHow we point people to God.

We want people to believe in Jesus by accepting Him as Savior and begin their journey of who God designed them to be.

Believe

Become

We want people to become the person God intended through discipleship and by serving in their strengths for ministry and sharing Christ with others.

Our MeasuresWhen we point people to God.

FellowshipGod wants us to be a member of his family (Eph. 2:19)

WorshipGod wants us to be a magnifier of his name. (Psalm 34:3)

EvangelismGod wants us to be a minister of his grace (Romans 10:13-15)

Stewardship / Missions PlanOver the next five years, Lake Point Church will do the following to promote giving to spread the Gospel and develop healthy stewardship.

Personal Financial Support We will have a financial ministry, not just offer financial classes. We will recruit people for financial ministries. We will connect people’s giving to God’s Word.

Digital Giving We will set up and promote digital giving. We automate the important.

High Capacity Donor Development We will connect with people who have the ability to build the Kingdom. We will not abuse them, or ignore them. We will honor their love for unique experiences. We will build relationships that value them, and not their money.

Vision Campaigns We will connect vision campaigns with a vision for the lives of our church. We will connect campaigns with what God has called us to do.

Communications We will send out quarterly contribution statements. We will send vision letters with where we’ve been and where we are going. We will be intentional about our offering talks.

Missions We will provide opportunities to give to national offerings in the final quarter of each year through “The Gift” initiative.

Through our partnerships in various countries, we will support orphan ministries by giving and sending resources over the next five years.

We will play an active role in helping to plant at least two churches in the next five years.

We will give to our local association and participate in community missions through SPLASH Bartow.

Giving to the Cooperative Program will be a budget item over the next five years.
