Mittie led the team once again in
points with a total of 23 on the night, but it was junior Hannah Loftin andsophomore Mallory Powell (late arrivalsfrom the Aledo volleyball team) who alsocontributed to the high-scoring contest.
I think we moved the ball arounda lot faster, Loftin said. We have tomove the ball quick and be a lot faster.
The 56 junior collected 12 pointson the night that included two three-point field goals. Powell finished the
night with six points as did Wood.Tallant collected nine points that alsoincluded a three-point field goal.
And it may had only been a matter of72-hours more or less since their homeopener, but it was clear Aledo was con-ducting the type of play Johnson has been emphasizing since the preseasonscrimmages. The teams offense moved

quickly, yet steadily and it was the samesituation on defense.
Its a rhythm Johnson wants theteam to continue and strengthen.
We talk a lot about wanting to beable to play fast, but the whole game be slow to where you see everythingthats in front of you, Johnson said. Its a nice situation we have right now.Beyond just having some great athletes,
weve got some good basketball players. They understand where to get, they
understand the next play before it hap-pens.
Aledo capped the night off with a
62-34 victory to start the season witha 2-0 record. The Ladycats will par-ticipate in a tournament this weekendat Northwest High School. The teamsnext home game will be 6 p.m. Tuesday,Nov. 22 against All Saints.
