No.166 February 2020 Next Meeting: Tuesday 11th February at 1.30 pm at North Balwyn Uniting Church, 17-‐21 Duggan Street, North Balwyn
President’s Report Hello Members I do hope you all enjoyed a great Christmas break, perhaps some of you managed to get away for a few days of tranquillity and now feel refreshed and ready for some great times ahead organised by our marvellous conveners and their helpers. What marvellous work they do organising and fitting in their responsibilities with such a busy program that we manage to offer. A very Happy 2020 to you all, let’s hope it brings both good health and happy times with your friends at this club. As many of you already know our first meeting for 2020 will be held at the North Balwyn Uniting Church namely, St. Aidan’s. The church has many improvements to offer such as a new kitchen with a full dishwasher, tables up and already for use plus parking within the church grounds and also on one side of the street. Best of all there will be no need for hall set-‐up as we are following a Probus Club who have kindly agreed to leave their seats in rows ready for our use. All we will be required to do is stack our seats after use and leave the kitchen and premises as we found it. The new address is 17-‐21 Duggan Street, North Balwyn (the Bell Tower can be seen for miles) and I look forward to welcoming you there at our February meeting. With a new venue and a new year ahead I would ask all of our members to try to bring along a friend or neighbour who may like to join our club. Our numbers are unfortunately dwindling and for us to keep operating we need new folk to take part and enjoy what we have to offer. Trudy
‘Bottle Tops’ – Sean Teer from Envision will speak about collecting certain
plastic bottle caps that are then used to make prosthetics using 3D printing.

It is about six out-‐of-‐work, impoverished steelworkers from Sheffield in England, with nothing to lose, who decide to form a male striptease act in order to gather enough money to get somewhere else in life and for the main character, Gaz, to be able to see his son.
