LA MAMA NEGRA

It is performed every year in the last days of September.

Its habitans render a homage to the Virgin“La Merced”as a demostration of gratitude for favors granted.

There are a lot of tourist traveling to the city of Latacunga attracted by the rich folklore contains this celebration.

This celebration begins on September 23th and 24th

The end of this celebration takes place on the first Saturday of November with the final parade.

La Mama Negra is cataloged as the symbol of unity and happiness of ECUADOR.
