Los Angeles Makerspace is a non-profit community space for makers and tinkerers of all ages to create and collaborate. Our mission is to provide a place where kids can make and learn alongside adults, where maker parents can bring their children, and where kids can create their own projects while learning new, unique maker skills through our workshops, after school programs, and home-schooling classes. Makers of all ages will be able to work on their own projects and have access to classes in software, hardware, electronics, robotics, art, filmmaking, bio-tech, eco-tech, wearable-tech, and more! We are part of the global Maker/DIY Movement, recognized as being responsible for invigorating innovation and spurring new ideas. The concept behind a makerspace is to provide shared physical resources that are otherwise unaffordable or unattainable by an individual or family, and to support the community. Makerspaces provide a fluid workspace as well as the collaboration, inspiration, and encouragement of like-minded others. At the LA Makerspace, our volunteer mentors and instructors hail from different backgrounds and skill sets, and include: Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Artists, Scientists, Teachers, Filmmakers, Roboticists, Rocket Scientists, Librarians, Executives, Entrepreneurs, Moms, and Dads dedicated to the proposition that making things is essential to creating an awesome society.

The Los Angeles Makerspace is for individuals, groups, parents, and kids
of all ages who are seeking a supportive, creative building
environment.
Our mission is to provide a community workspace equipped with 3D printers, laser
cutters, computer workstations, arts & crafts, filmmaking, metal and woodworking tools,
supportive mentors and active-learning childcare.
Classes and events have included Scratch Programming, Arduino,
Fashion Tech, Food Hacking, Make-Up Effects, Soldering, Squishy Circuits,
Origami, Take Apart and more.
Our team consists of teachers, inventors, scientists, entrepreneurs,
executives, moms and dads dedicated to the proposition that
making things is essential to creating an awesome society.
We are part of the global Maker/DIY Movement that encompasses inventors,
programmers, hackers, artists, and engineers. The movement is recognized
as being responsible for invigorating innovation.
Our goal is to be a self-sustaining non-profit organization generating revenue from monthly memberships and fees
for select classes and events.
We are seeking financial and
in-kind sponsors to
help equip our recently
secured 2,100 sq/ft facility in downtown Los Angeles on the
11th floor of the LA Mart.
We need to raise operating capital for one year.
