$100.00 entry fee (includes green fee, cart, goody bag, putting contest entry, raffle ticket and dinner after the presentation) benefiting the Leo Aguilar Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Leo Aguilar Foundation has been awarding scholarships to area graduating students since 1971. This was started to commemorate Leo Aguilar after he lost his life in 1970. Leo was a senior and starting varsity fullback for the Los Fresnos Falcons in 1970 when he suffered a severe neck injury during practice. He was hospitalized and died on October 10, 1970 at the age of seventeen.
Leo’s football jersey number “44” was retired and in the fall of 1988 the Los Fresnos CISD Board of Trustees voted to rename Falcon Field to “Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium”. The Leo Aguilar Foundation awards two scholarships annually, one to a female and one to a male student. The recipients are chosen based on Leo’s trademarks, which were Leadership, Dedication, and Commitment to academic excellence. There is a golf tournament held each year to raise funds for the scholarships.
Lodging is available at a discounted rate at South Padre Island Realty (956)-943-2070 or 866-943-3622 or email at: [email protected]

When local governments want to increase tax revenues, they are required to publish notices in the newspaper so that you will know. But that right to know could disappear.
Local governmental entities across the state want to hide their public notices on little seen, rarely visited government websites.
What you don’t know will affect you personally!
If it is not in the newspaper, you won’t know about it.
YOUR PROPERTY TAXES JUST WENT UP.OR HADN’T YOU HEARD?
