This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the necessary skills and knowledge needed to deal with an adult or child who requires basic life support in an emergency situation. During this half day course, Learners will be given the opportunity to practise essential basic life support procedures, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, recovery position, CPR and choking. 5 x Practical assessments and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course. The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide basic life support for adults and children. It is also ideal for those who are qualified in providing first aid and are looking to refresh or develop their existing first aid knowledge and skills further. Effective CPR provided by a bystander in the first few minutes of cardiac arrest can increase the chances of survival by 2x or 3x.
