Please remember our school starts at 8:55am and concludes at 3pm. Don’t be late………....

I would like to congratulate our students and their families on the way they are coming to school with a great attitude of being ready to learn. They also look amazing in their school uniforms. Everyone has settled into their new classes well. Special mention needs to be made to our Kindergarten students who have adapted to “big school” very well. Their “big buddies” (Year 6) continue to support them as they discover the best places to play and catch up with friends during lunch and recess. At morning assembly next week, Kindergarten will line up with the rest of the school. We recommend all students wear their hats. The school bears, Oscar and Blossom, are awarded to the classes with 100% of students being sun safe and who are also using their best assembly manners. It is best for adults to say their goodbyes before assembly. Parents get a special wave and leave the area before students move to class. This helps prevent long, sad farewells and clears pathways for students to enter their classrooms and begin learning.

Special dates for your diary: The School Leader Induction will be held in the hall on Wednesday 12th February at 9:15am. School photos will be taken on Thursday, 27th February. Parents who have 3 or more students at our school or at Toronto High are reminded that the photo company offers a family discount, but you do need to let them know when you are paying for the photos. Last year some families missed out on the discount because they didn’t realise that the discount applied across both schools. Kindergarten finish at 2:30pm until Monday 17th Februrary. SWIMMING CARNIVAL – tomorrow 6th February

All students need to be at school ready for the bus departing at 9:00am.

The pool has asked us to give you warning that they will be charging all spectators an entry fee of $3.00. It is expected that all students will return to school on the bus. If you take your child they must be signed off with a teacher.

Library borrowing – Borrowing has commenced.. The library is open every day for the very keen readers. Please make sure your child has a library bag so they can borrow and look after our books.

Big band commenced last Friday at 8:15am for all 2019 members.

Mr Saunders, Mr Connolly, Mrs Moss & Mr Lock have started their lessons for 2020.

All new members will be receiving instruments this week.

Costs: $25 membership per year. $20 approx. for music book. $15 per lesson to be paid in advance of the lesson. Guitar lessons will be $20 this year and will receive a 20 minute lesson.
