Year 2 Newsletter Autumn Term 1 2020 Reading Books, Spellings and Homework Reading is an essential part of your childs learning journey. All children are taking part in guided reading sessions at least once per week, as well as individual and whole class reading. It is therefore essential that your child has their reading book and diary in school every day. We use the diary to communicate with you about your childs reading and we would appreciate it if you could leave a comment in the diary to let us know that you have read with your child. Your child will be sent home with a set of spellings each week which can be found at the front of their spelling book. The children will be tested on a Monday. They will also be given other tasks to practise at home such as their times tables. It is very important that coats, bags, PE kits, lunchboxes and uniforms (including ties) are clearly labelled. Please note that children are not allowed to bring toys into school.
