CHILD SAFETY DEVICE• When you activate this device, you

cannot close the door. This preventschildren or pets being closed inside.To activate the device, turn it clock-wise, until the groove is horizontal.To deactivate the device, turn itcounterclockwise, until the groove isvertical.

GENERAL SAFETY• Do not use the appliance for profes-

sional use. The appliance is only fordomestic use.

• Do not change the specifications ofthis appliance. There is the risk of in-jury and damage to the appliance.

• Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.Risk of explosion or fire.

• Obey the safety instructions on thedetergent packaging to preventburns to eyes, mouth and throat.

• Make sure that you remove all metalobjects from the laundry. Hard andsharp material can cause damage tothe appliance.

• Do not touch the glass of the doorwhile a programme operates. Theglass can be hot (only for front-load-ing appliances).

CARE AND CLEANING• Turn off the appliance and discon-

nect the mains plug from the mainssocket.

• Do not use the appliance without thefilters. Make sure that the installation

of the filters is correct. An incorrectinstallation causes water leakages.

INSTALLATION• The appliance is heavy, be careful

when you move it.• Do not transport your appliance with-

out the transit bolts, you can damageinternal components and cause leak-ages or malfunctions.

• Do not install and connect a dam-aged appliance.

• Make sure to remove all packagingand transit bolts before first use.

• Make sure that the mains plug is dis-connected from the mains socketduring installation.

• Do not install or use the appliancewhere the temperature is less than 0°C.

• When you install the appliance on acarpet floor, make sure that there isair circulation between the applianceand the carpet. Adjust the feet tohave the necessary space betweenthe appliance and the carpet.

Water connection• Do not connect the appliance with

old hoses. Only use new hoses sup-plied with the appliance.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe water hoses.

• Do not connect the appliance to newpipes or pipes not used for a longtime. Let the water flow for some mi-nutes, then connect the inlet hose.

• The first time you use the appliance,make sure that the water hoses andthe couplings do not have leakages.

Electrical connection• Make sure that the appliance is con-

nected to a correctly installed earth-ed power outlet.

• Make sure that the electrical informa-tion on the rating plate agrees withthe power supply.

• Do not use multiple plugs and exten-sion cables. There is a risk of fire.

• Do not replace or change the mainscable. Contact the service centre.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug and cable.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of the installa-tion. Make sure that there is accessto the mains plug after the installa-tion.

• Do not pull the mains cable to dis-connect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

• If this appliance is supplied from acord extension set or electrical porta-ble outlet device, the cord extensionset or electrical portable outlet de-vice must be positioned so that it isnot subject to splashing or ingress ofmoisture.

• If the supply cord of this appliance isdamaged, it must be replaced by themanufacturer, its service agent orsimilarly qualified persons to avoid ahazard.

DISCARD THE APPLIANCE1. Disconnect the mains plug from the

mains socket.2. Cut off the mains cable and discard

it.3. Discard the door catch. This pre-

vents children or pets being acci-dentally closed inside the appli-ance. There is a risk of suffocation(only for front-loading appliances).

TIME SAVE BUTTON 6

Press the button 6 to decrease theprogramme duration.• Press one time to set 'Shortened du-

ration' for items with daily soil.• Press two times to set 'Extra Quick'

for items with almost no soil.

Some programmes accept onlyone of the two functions.

EXTRA RINSE BUTTON 7

Press button 7 to add rinsing phasesto a programme.Use this function for persons allergic todetergents and in areas where the wa-ter is soft.

STAIN BUTTON 8

Press button 8 to add the stain phaseto a programme.Use this function for laundry with hardstains to remove.When you set this function, put thestain remover into compartment .

This function increases the pro-gramme duration.This function is not availablewith a temperature lower than40° C.

SPIN BUTTON 9

Press this button to:• Decrease the maximum speed of the

spin phase when you set a pro-gramme.

The display shows only the spinspeeds available with the setprogramme.

• Deactivate the spin phase.• Activate the 'Rinse Hold' function.

Set this function to prevent fabriccreases. The appliance does notdrain the water when the programmeis completed.

TEMPERATURE BUTTON 10

Press button 10 to change the defaulttemperature.

ACOUSTIC SIGNALSFUNCTIONYou can hear the acoustic signals when:• You activate the appliance.• You deactivate the appliance.• You press the buttons.• The programme is completed.• The appliance has a malfunction.To deactivate/activate the acousticsignals, press button 8 and button 7at the same time for 6 seconds.

If you deactivate the acousticsignals, they continue to oper-ate only when you press the but-tons and when a malfunction oc-curs.

CHILD LOCK FUNCTIONThis function prevents children operat-ing the control panel.• To activate the function, press button

10 and button 9 at the same timeuntil the display shows the symbol .

• To deactivate the function, press but-ton 10 and button 9 at the sametime until the symbol goes off.

You can activate the function:• Before you press button 4 : the ap-

pliance cannot start.• After you press button 4 , all the

buttons and the programme knobare deactivated.

3) If you set the Extra Quick duration, we recommend that you reduce the maximum load. It ispossible to fully load the appliance, however the washing results are reduced.

4) The wash and spin phase is delicate to prevent the creases of the laundry. The applianceadds some rinses.

5) The default phase of the spin speed is related to cotton items. Set the spin speed. Makesure that it agrees with the laundry. To select the DRAIN programme only, set the functionNO SPIN.

6) Press Extra Rinse button to add rinses. With a low spin speed the appliance performsdelicate rinses and a short spin.

7) Set this programme to decrease the time and the consumption of energy and water. Use aspecial detergent for very low temperature.

8) Set this programme to have good washing results and decrease the energy consumption.The time of the washing programme is extended.

9) Economy 60ºC programme is recommended for a full load of cotton and is the water andenergy rating programme in accordance with AS/NZS2040.2 and AS/NZS6400.

BEFORE FIRST USE1. To activate the drain system, put 2

litres of water in the main washcompartment of the detergent dis-penser.

2. Put a small quantity of detergent inthe main wash compartment of the

detergent dispenser. Set and starta programme for cotton at thehighest temperature without laun-dry. This removes all possible dirtfrom the drum and the tub.

USING THE APPLIANCE1. Open the water tap.2. Connect the mains plug to the

mains socket.3. Press button 1 to activate the ap-

pliance.4. Put the laundry in the appliance.

5. Use the correct quantity of deter-gent and additives.

6. Set and start the correct pro-gramme for the type of laundry andsoil.

LOADING THE LAUNDRY1. Open the appliance door.2. Put the laundry in the drum, one

item at a time. Shake the items be-fore you put them in the appliance.

Make sure not to put too muchlaundry in the drum.

3. Close the door.

Make sure that no laundry stays be-tween the seal and the door. There is arisk of water leakage or damage to theseal or laundry.

FILLING THE DETERGENT AND ADDITIVES

The detergent compartment for the prewash phase and the soakprogramme.Add the detergent for prewash and soak before the start of theprogramme.

The detergent compartment for the washing phase.If you use a liquid detergent, put it in immediately before youstart the programme.

Liquid additives compartment (fabric conditioner, starch).Put the product in the compartment before you start the pro-gramme.

This is the maximum level for the quantity of liquid additives.

The compartment for the stain remover.Put the product in the compartment and set the stain function be-fore you start the programme.

Flap for powder or liquid detergentTurn it (up or down) in the correct position to use powder or liquiddetergent.

Always obey the instructions that you find on the packaging of the deter-gent products.

Check the position of the flap

1. Pull out the detergent dispenseruntil it stops.

2. Press the lever down to remove thedispenser.

3. To use powder detergent, turn theflap up.

4. To use liquid detergent, turn theflap down.

With the flap in the positionDOWN:– Do not use gelatinous or thick

liquid detergents.– Do not put more liquid deter-

gent than the limit shown onthe flap.

– Do not set the prewashphase.

– Do not set the delay startfunction.

5. Measure out the detergent and thefabric conditioner.

6. Carefully close the detergent dis-penser. Make sure that the flapdoes not cause a blockage whenyou close the drawer.

SETTING AND STARTING A PROGRAMME1. Turn the programme knob. The re-

lated programme indicator comeson.

2. The indicator of button 4 flashesred.

3. The display shows the default tem-perature and spin speed. Tochange the temperature and/or thespin speed, press the related but-tons.

4. Set the available functions. The in-dicator of the set function comeson or the display shows the relatedsymbol.

5. Press button 4 to start the pro-gramme. The indicator of button4 is on.

INTERRUPT A PROGRAMME1. Press button 4 . The indicator

flashes.2. Press button 4 again. The wash-

ing programme continues.

CANCEL A PROGRAMME1. Press button 1 to cancel the pro-

gramme and to deactivate the ap-pliance.

2. Press button 1 again to activatethe appliance. Now, you can set anew washing programme.

The appliance does not drainthe water.

CHANGE A FUNCTIONYou can change only some functionsbefore they operate.1. Press button 4 . The indicator

flashes.2. Change the function set.

SET THE DELAY START1. Press button 5 repeatedly until

the display shows the number ofminutes or hours. The related sym-bols comes on.

2. Press button 4 , the appliancestarts the countdown of the delaystart.When the countdown is complete,the programme starts automatical-ly.

Before you press button 4 tostart the appliance, you can can-cel or change the delay startsetting.

CANCEL THE DELAY START1. Press button 4 . The related indi-

cator flashes.2. Press button 5 again and again

until the display shows 0’.

3. Press button 4 . The programmestarts.

OPEN THE DOORWhile a programme or the delay startoperates, the appliance door is locked.

To open the appliance door:1. Press button 4 . The door lock

pliance. After five minutes from theend of the programme, the energysaving function automatically deacti-vates the appliance.

When you activate the appli-ance again, the display showsthe set of the last performedprogramme. Turn the pro-gramme knob to set a new cy-cle.

• Remove the laundry from the appli-ance. Make sure that the drum isempty.

• Keep the door ajar, to prevent mil-dew and odours.

• Close the water tap.

The washing programme is completebut there is water in the drum:– The drum turns regularly to prevent

the creases in the laundry.

THE LAUNDRY LOAD• Divide the laundry into: white, col-

oured, synthetics, delicates and wool.• Obey the washing instructions that

are on the laundry care labels.• Do not wash white and coloured

items together.• Some coloured items may run with

the first wash. We recommend youwash them separately the first time.

• Buttom up pillowcases, close zippers,hooks and poopers, and tie up belts.

• Empty the pockets.• Any laundry with multilayered fabrics,

wool or items with painted illustra-tions should be turned inside out be-fore washing.

• Remove persistent stains beforewashing.

• Rub particularly soiled areas with aspecial detergent or detergent paste.

DETERGENTS AND ADDITIVES• Only use detergents and additives

specially made for front load washingmachines.

• Do not mix different types of deter-gents.

• To help the environment, do not usemore than the correct quantity of de-tergent.

• Obey the instructions that you findon the packaging of these products.

• Use the correct products for the typeand colour of the fabric, the pro-gramme temperature and the level ofsoil.

6. Pull back the drainage duct andturn the filter to remove it.

• On the edge of a sink.• Make sure that the plastic guide can-

not move when the appliance drains.Attach the guide to the water tap orthe wall.

• To a stand pipe with vent-hole.Refer to the illustration. Directly intoa drain pipe at a height of not lessthan 60 cm and not more than 100cm. The end of the drain hose mustalways be ventilated , i.e. the innerdiameter of the drainpipe must belarger than the external diameter ofthe drain hose.

Without the plastic hose guide.

• To a sink spigot.Refer to the illustration. Put the drainhose in the spigot and tighten it witha clip. Make sure that the drain hosemakes a loop upwards , preventingremaining particles entering the ap-pliance from the sink.

You can extend the drain hoseto maximum 400 cm. Contactthe service centre for the otherdrain hose and the extension.
