I hope everyone had a restful winter break. Since we were on break majority of the time, my board report will not have as many updates – but more so things to look forward to this semester. For the College of NSM, I have talked with many peers about the need for a printer in Sequoia Hall. I am hoping to talk with Dean Trainer on the possibility of this. Additionally, I look forward to visiting all of the NSM clubs soon for their beginning of semester meetings. I can’t wait to see what everyone is up to this semester and I will announce upcoming events that the NSM students can participate in. Our first Joint Council meeting will be Tuesday February 16 th at 6:00 PM in Sequoia 338. I hope to see new and familiar faces there. Also, I was able to put up my Director Board in Sequoia Hall on the 2 nd floor! I will be updating it throughout the semester with events, Joint Council meetings, NSM Club meetings, and other helpful information for students. Lastly, I am happy to announce that the ASI Green Team was awarded $2,000 from the CSSA Greenovation Fund. We are working closely with Sac State Sustainability and STORC to carry out our Design and Demonstration of a Post-Consumer Bio Waste Management System” project. We will be working with sustainability entities on campus to expand our composting initiatives at Sac State and educate the students on our composting efforts and how they can be part of the change. We are very excited to take on this project and successfully execute it. meeting with Ryan Todd from Sac State Sustainability and Professor Murphy and Professor Burton from STORC to help us with the planning, logistics, and execution of our project. Unfortunately, our application to get a new Brita Filter at the Riverfront was declined. On the bright side, we are still working on this project and will hopefully find another way to build a water filter fountain inside the Riverfront. University Committees Aquatic Center Advisory Committee Was contacted by the committee chair about availability and possible meeting dates. I look forward to meeting this semester. Institutional Scholarship Committee

Was contacted by committee chair and told I will be hearing from someone regarding upcoming meetings. Selection Advisory Committee for the Executive Director for University Initiatives and Student Success The Selection Advisory Committee brought four candidates to campus towards the end of fall Semester. Dr. Dragna, one of the candidates, was chosen for the position! He officially started his position on January 27th. He is from New Zealand and has extensive background with teaching and working with students. If you are interested in learning more about Dr. Dragna, please follow this link to the article posted on January 20, 2016: http://www.csus.edu/president/fromthedeskofthepresident.html Strategic Priority Updates: 1.1.3 Encourage students to run for ASI office through the “Where is Your Voice?” campaign I have been encouraging students to check out an information session on running for ASI office through social media and word of mouth

1.2.1 Increase ASI accessibility through student outreach. Have been actively using Facebook to advertise for different events and updates. Also, I put up my ASI Director bulletin board in Sequoia Hall and have been getting a lot of positive feedback from it! Additionally, I attended board on block events towards the end of the Fall Semester. 1.2.4 Establish ASI presence in student support programs via classroom presentations. I have been planning on refreshing students on what ASI is through club presentations and FYE/PAL classroom presentations this semester.

1.2.6 Conduct presentations at the Resident Advisor Staff building meetings once a semester. Attended Board on the Block at the Dining Commons. Planning on reaching out to the Resident Advisors this semester and will hope to collaborate with them to do an educational program about ASI.

2.1 Support the ASI Food Pantry

I have been raising awareness of the Food Pantry by bringing fliers and talking about the food pantry to club meetings and leave them at the front of my classes. Also, I have been advertising for it through social media and word of mouth. 2.4.2 Market the California State Student Association (CSSA) Greenovation Fund to student clubs and organizations. Worked on the Greenovation application with the ASI Green Team and successfully submitted two applications. One of them was accepted!

2.4.3 Partner with campus entities to promote composting efforts Our compositing initiative proposal was accepted for the CSSA Grant. We will be working very hard this semester to execute this project.

3.2.1 Promote the institutionalization of Project PASS by collaborating with the Faculty Senate and university administration. Talked with Dr. Lundmark on how I/students could support the institutionalization of Project Pass. Have talked with Tucker, Vice President of Academic Affairs, on what we could do for this semester with this priority.
