ITBS Testing The Iowa Test of Basic Skills will be given beginning on Wednesday of this week for students in grades 2-7. Please do not schedule any morning appointments for your student during this time.

Fish Fry Fridays

Pure and Simple Evening for 7th and 8th grade students and parents

Pure and Simple is an evening presented by the Department of Catholic Education of the Archdiocese of Mobile. The evening will present the Catholic view of what it means to be made male and female along with practical tips for living this truth. The primary goal of the event is to facilitate the communication between students and their parents.

This event is for parents and students. The evening begins with Mass, followed by dinner and a large group presentation. The large group is then split up into smaller group presentations to parents, young women and young men.

Please join us Wednesday evening, March 22 at our church. Mass will begin at 5:30 followed by dinner and presentations. It should conclude by 8:00. This is a free event, but please call the school office to make your reservation.

Scholar’s Bowl

Our scholar’s bowl team qualified for the Super Tournament which was held on March 17th at the University of Mobile. We are proud to announce that 8th grader James Ankiewicz received the honor of placing 2nd highest individual scorer in our division for this school year. Our A team placed 3rd in regular match play.

Computer Fair

Many of our students recently attended the Regional Computer Fair at Faulkner State Community College. Our school entered 32 projects and 20 of those placed. 12 projects (19 students) were invited to present at the state competition on April 28 and April 29. We are proud of all of our participants!

National Junior Honor Society for Grades 6-8

Applications are now being accepted to The National Junior Honor Society. The NJHS recognizes outstanding middle school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Members develop these virtues through participation in school activities and community service. A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required. Applications and more information can found on Rediker. An induction ceremony for new members will be held on April 25.

Handicapped Parking Reminders

Please be mindful of our designated handicap parking spaces in our school parking lot. Please do not park in a handicapped space before, during, or after school hours. It is a violation of the law, and these spaces should be reserved for our school families that need them.

Bible Verse of the Month

Our Bible verse focus for the month of March is : John 14:16

“Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Our prayer focus is the Act of Contrition.
