El teléfono móvil modelo KP235 ha sidodiseñado para cumplir la normativa deseguridad válida en relación con laexposición a ondas de radio. Esta normativase basa en directrices científicas queincluyen márgenes de seguridad diseñadospara garantizar la seguridad de todo tipo depersonas, independientemente de su edad yestado de salud.

] Las directrices de exposición a ondas deradio utilizan una unidad de mediciónconocida como Tasa Específica deAbsorción o SAR. Las pruebas de SARse llevan a cabo utilizando un métodoestandarizado con el teléfonotransmitiendo al nivel más alto depotencia certificado en todas las bandasde frecuencia utilizadas.

] Aunque puede haber diferencias entrelos niveles de SAR de los diferentesmodelos de teléfonos LG, todos hansido diseñados para ajustarse a lasdirectrices relevantes de exposición aondas de radio.

] El límite de SAR recomendado por laICNIRP (International Commission onNon-Ionizing Radiation Protection,Comisión Internacional de Proteccióncontra Radiaciones No Ionizantes), esde 2 W/kg medido sobre diez (10)gramos de tejido.

] El valor de SAR más alto para estemodelo de teléfono evaluado porDASY4 para uso auditivo es de 0,929W/kg (10g) mientras que el valor másalto correspondiente a su transportejunto al cuerpo es 0,890 W/kg (10g).

1. Extracción de la batería.Presione las lengüetas de la tapa delabatería y deslice la tapa hacia abajo.Levante la batería para extraerla delcompartimento.

Nota] Si extrae la batería del teléfono mientras

está encendido, puede verse afectado elfuncionamiento del mismo.

2. Inserte la tarjeta SIM.Introduzca la tarjeta SIM en el soporte.Deslice la tarjeta SIM hacia el interiordel soporte de la tarjeta. Asegúreseque la tarjeta SIM está bien colocada yque el área de contacto dorada de latarjeta queda boca abajo. Para extraerla tarjeta SIM, pulse ligeramente y tireen dirección inversa.

Precaución] El contacto metálico de la tarjeta SIM

se puede dañar fácilmente. Maneje latarjeta con cuidado siguiendo lasinstrucciones proporcionadas con latarjeta.

3. Inserte la batería.

Cargar la bateríaPara conectar el cargador al teléfono,debe instalar primero la batería.

1. Con la flecha orientada hacia usted,como se muestra en la imagen,inserte el enchufe del cargador en elconector de la parte inferior delteléfono hasta que escuche unchasquido que indique que estáperfectamente insertado.

2. Conecte el otro extremo delcargador a la toma de alimentacióneléctrica. Utilice sólo el cargadorincluido en el embalaje.

Códigos de accesoPuede utilizar los códigos de accesopara evitar el uso no autorizado delteléfono. Los códigos de acceso(excepto los códigos PUK y PUK2) sepueden cambiar utilizando la funciónCambiar código del(Menú #.7.5).

Código PIN (4-8 dígitos)El código PIN (número deidentificación personal) protege latarjeta SIM del uso no autorizado. Elcódigo PIN se proporcionanormalmente con la tarjeta SIM. Si laopción Solicitar código PIN estáActivada, el teléfono solicitará estecódigo cada vez que se encienda. Si laopción Solicitar código PIN estáDesactivada, el teléfono se conectarádirectamente a la red sin el código PIN.

Hacer una llamada1. Asegúrese de que el teléfono está

encendido.

2. Escriba el número de teléfono con elprefijo local.] Para eliminar números, pulse la

para introducir el prefijointernacional. El carácter “+”selecciona automáticamente elcódigo de acceso internacional.

2. Introduzca el prefijo del país, elprefijo local y el número deteléfono.

Ajuste del volumenSi desea ajustar el volumen delauricular durante una llamada, utilicelas teclas laterales ( ). Pulse la teclalateral superior para subir el volumen yel botón lateral inferior para bajarlo.

Nota] En modo de espera, puede ajustar el

volumen del teclado pulsando las teclaslaterales.

Contestar a una llamadaCuando alguien le llama, el teléfonosuena y parpadea el icono de teléfonoen el centro de la pantalla. Si esposible identificar a la persona quellama, aparecerá su número de teléfono(o su nombre e imagen, si estánguardados en la agenda).

1. Para responder una llamada abra latapa del teléfono si se haestablecido Abrir tapa como elmodo de respuesta. Consulte la

página 59 (Menú #.6.2) paraobtener más información.

Introducción de textoPuede introducir caracteresalfanuméricos utilizando el teclado delteléfono. Por ejemplo, para guardarnombres en la agenda, escribir unmensaje, crear un saludo personal oplanificar eventos en el calendario esnecesario introducir texto.

El teléfono dispone de los siguientesmétodos de entrada de texto.

Modo T9Este modo le permite introducirpalabras con sólo una pulsaciónpor letra. Cada tecla del tecladotiene más de una letra. El modoT9 compara automáticamente suspulsaciones con un diccionariointerno para determinar cuál es lapalabra correcta y, por lo tanto,requiere menos pulsaciones que elmodo ABC tradicional. También seconoce como texto predictivo.

Modo ABCEste modo le permite introducirletras pulsando la tecla rotuladacon la letra pertinente. Deberápulsar la misma tecla una, dos, treso más veces hasta que aparezca enpantalla la letra deseada.

Modo 123 (modo numérico)Este modo le permite insertarnúmeros pulsando las teclascorrespondientes a los dígitos.Para pasar al modo 123 en uncampo de entrada de texto,pulsela tecla .

Cambio del modo de entradade texto1. Cuando esté en un campo que

permita introducir caracteres,aparecerá el indicador de modo deentrada de texto en la esquinainferior derecha de la pantalla.

Uso del modo T9El modo de entrada de texto predictivo

T9 le permite introducir palabrasfácilmente con un mínimo depulsaciones. Al pulsar cada tecla, elteléfono muestra los caracteres quecree que está introduciendobasándose en el diccionarioincorporado. También puede añadirpalabras nuevas al diccionario. Amedida que se añaden letras nuevas, lapalabra va cambiando para mostrar laque más se acerque dentro de laspalabras que hay en el diccionario.

] Si no encuentra la palabra deseadaen la lista de opciones de palabras,añádala utilizando el modo ABC.

] Para seleccionar el idioma del modoT9, pulse la tecla de funciónizquierda [Opciones] y, acontinuación, seleccione IdiomasT9. Seleccione el idioma deseadopara el modo T9. Puede comprobar el registro dellamadas perdidas, recibidas y enviadassólo si la red admite la identificaciónde línea de llamada (ILL) dentro delárea de servicio.

El número y nombre (si estándisponibles) se muestran junto con lafecha y hora en que se hizo la llamada.También puede ver la duración.

Todas Permite ver todas las llamadasperdidas, recibidas y enviadas. Puederealizar una llamada, enviar un mensajeo guardar en la agenda el número quehaya seleccionado. También puedeguardar el número en Contactos.

La memoria delteléfono tiene una capacidad de 1000entradas y puede introducir hasta 20caracteres por nombre, mientras que lacapacidad de la memoria de la tarjetaSIM depende del operador.

Marcacion rápidaPuede asignar cualquiera de las teclas,

a un contacto de la lista. Sipulsa una de las tecla configuradasdurante unos segundos llamará alcontacto que tenga asignado.

1. Desplácese a Marcación rápida yluego pulse [OK].

2. Para añadir un número a lamarcación rápida, seleccione(Vacío). A continuación, puedebuscar el nombre en la Agenda.

Proporcionan informacióngeneral sobre distintos temas, comopor ejemplo, previsión del tiempo,tráfico, taxis, farmacias y bolsa.Cuando reciba un mensaje del serviciode información, un mensaje emergenteindicará que se ha recibido un mensaje

nuevo, o aparecerá el mensaje delservicio de información directamente.En el modo de espera, se dispone delas siguientes opciones para visualizarlos mensajes del servicio deinformación.

Leer Si recibe un mensaje del servicio deinformación y selecciona Leer paraverlo, el mensaje aparecerá en lapantalla.

Installing the SIMcard and the batteryMake sure the power is off before youremove the battery.

1. Remove the battery.Press down on the tabs on the batterycover and slide the cover down. Nowlift the battery from its compartment.

Note] Removing the battery from the phone

when the power is on may cause thephone to malfunction.

2. Install the SIM card.Insert and slide the SIM card into theSIM card holder. Make sure that theSIM card is inserted properly and thatthe gold contact area on the card isfacing downwards. To remove the SIMcard, press down lightly and pull it inthe reverse direction.

Caution] The metal contact of the SIM card can

Charging the batteryTo connect the charger to the phone,you must first install the battery.

1. With the arrow facing you as shownin the diagram, push the plug on thecharger into the connector on thebottom of the phone until it clicksinto place.

2. Connect the other end of thecharger to the mains socket. Onlyuse the charger included in the box.

3. The moving bars on the battery iconwill stop once charging is complete.

Caution] Do not force the connector as this may

damage the phone and/or the charger.] If you use the charger out of your own

country, use an attachment plug adapterfor the proper configuration.

] Do not remove your battery or the SIMcard while charging.

Warning] Unplug the power cord and charger

Access codesYou can use the access codesdescribed in this section to avoidunauthorised use of your phone. Theaccess codes (except PUK and PUK2codes) can be changed by using theChange codes feature (Menu #.7.5).

PIN code (4 to 8 digits)The PIN (Personal IdentificationNumber) code protects your SIM cardagainst unauthorised use. The PINcode is usually supplied with the SIMcard. When the PIN code request isset to On, your phone will request thePIN code every time the phone isswitched on. When the PIN coderequest is set to Off, your phoneconnects to the network directlywithout the PIN code.

PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits)The PIN2 code, supplied with someSIM cards, is required to accessfunctions such as Advice of callcharges and Fixed dial number. Thesefunctions are only available ifsupported by your service provider.Check with your service provider forfurther information.

PUK code (4 to 8 digits)The PUK (PIN Unblocking Key) code isrequired to unlock a PIN blockedphone. The PUK code may be suppliedwith the SIM card. If not, contact yourservice provider for the code. If youlose the code, also contact your service provider.

PUK2 code (4 to 8 digits)The PUK2 code, supplied with someSIM cards, is required to unlock ablocked PIN2 code. If you lose thecode, please contact your serviceprovider.

Security code (4 to 8 digits)The security code protects theunauthorised use of your phone. Thedefault security code is set to ‘0000’and the security code is required todelete all phone entries and to activatethe Reset settings menu. Also, thesecurity code is required to enable ordisable the phone lock function toprevent unauthorised use of thephone. The security code defaultsetting can be modified from theSecurity settings menu.

Barring passwordThe barring password is required whenyou use the Call barring function. Youcan obtain the password from yourservice provider when you subscribe tothis function.

Entering textYou can enter alphanumeric charactersby using the phone’s keypad. Forexample, storing names in thephonebook, writing a message,creating a personal greeting.

The following text input methods areavailable in the phone.

T9 ModeThis mode lets you enter wordswith only one keystroke per letter.Each key on the keypad has morethan one letter. The T9 modeautomatically compares yourkeystrokes with an internaldictionary to determine thecorrect word, thus requiring farfewer keystrokes than thetraditional ABC mode. This issometimes known as predictivetext.

ABC ModeThis mode lets you enter letters bypressing the key labelled with therequired letter once, twice, threeor four times until the letter isdisplayed.

Using the T9 modeThe T9 predictive text input mode letsyou enter words easily with a minimumnumber of key presses. As you press each key, the phonebegins to display the characters that itthinks you are typing based on thebuilt-in dictionary. You can also addnew words in the dictionary. As newwords are added, the word changes toreflect the most likely candidate fromthe dictionary.

] If the desired word is missing fromthe word choice list, add it using theABC mode.

] You can select the language of theT9 mode. Press the left soft key[Options], then select T9languages. Select the desiredlanguage for T9 mode. You can alsoturn off the T9 mode by selectingT9 off. The default setting on thephone is T9 enabled mode.

You can check the records of missed,received, and dialled calls only if the network supports the Calling LineIdentification (CLI) within the servicearea.

The number and name (if available) aredisplayed together with the date andtime at which the call was made. Youcan also view call times.

All callsAllows you to view the missed,received, and dialled call records. Youcan make a call or send a message tothe number you have selected from therecords. You can also save the numberin Contacts.

You can store any multimedia files intoyour phone’s memory so that you haveeasy access to all of your images andsounds.

MelodiesMelodies contains an embedded linkfor downloading sounds through theInternet and a list of sounds includingdefault sounds pre-loaded onto yourphone, sounds downloaded by youand sounds recorded on your phone.

ImagesImages contains an embedded link fordownloading images through theInternet and a list of images includingdefault images pre-loaded onto yourphone, images downloaded by you andimages taken on your phone's camera.

OthersOther files that are not pictures orsounds are stored in this folder.

Memory statusYou can view the memory status. Youcan reset each memory by pressing theleft soft key [Reset].

] Common: Shows the status of theuser memory of the mobile phone.Since this function scans the overallfile system for statistics, a fewseconds are required.

You can save phone numbers and theircorresponding names in the memory ofthe phone or SIM card.

enter a name.

2. Enter the start of the name that youwish to find.

3. After finding the desired contact,you can make a call to the numberby pressing the key. Or pressthe left soft key [Option] to use thefollowing options.

] View: You can view name andnumber.

] Edit: You can edit the name andnumber.

] Message: Use this to write amessage to the contact.

Speed dialsAssign contacts to any of the keys

Info messages(Dependant on network and subscription)

Info service messages are textmessages delivered by the network toyour handset. They provide generalinformation such as weather reports,traffic news, taxis, pharmacies, andstock prices. When you receive an infoservice message, a popup message willindicate a new message receipt or theinfo service message will be displayeddirectly. In standby mode, thefollowing options are available whenviewing info service messages.

ReadWhen you have received an Infoservice message and select Read toview the message, it will be displayedon the screen.

The service settings are onlyavailable when GPRS is chosen asa bearer service.

- APN: Input the APN of theGPRS.

- User ID: The user identificationfor your APN server.

Call waiting (network dependent)

The network will notify you of a newincoming call while you have a call inprogress. Select Activate to requestthe network to activate call waiting,Cancel to request the network todeactivate call waiting, or View status,to check if the function is active ornot.

Minute minderWhen set to On, the phone will beepevery minute during an outgoing callto keep you informed of the length ofthe call.

Auto redialSelect On, and your phone will make amaximum of five attempts to connectthe call after an unsuccessful callattempt.

Send DTMF tonesDTMF tones allow your phone to makeuse of an automated switchboard.

SecurityPIN code requestIn this menu, you can set the phone toask for the PIN code of your SIM cardwhen the phone is switched on. If thisfunction is activated, you’ll berequested to enter the PIN code.

1. Select PIN code request in thesecurity settings menu, and thenpress [OK].

2. Set On/Off.

3. If you want to change the settings,you need to enter PIN code whenyou switch on the phone.

4. If you enter the wrong PIN codemore than 3 times, the phone willlock out. If the PIN is blocked, youwill need to key in the PUK code.

5. You can enter your PUK code up to10 times. If you enter the wrongPUK code more than 10 times, youcannot unlock your phone. You willneed to contact your serviceprovider.
