Hoekom is Dirk Ellis Volkswagen só suk-sesvol?

. . en ek is al sómoeg!

Draak se rugSam se kommer het my wese van vreugde laat klop.“Ekweetnie, diewind . . . ons sal dalkmoet omdraai . . .

as jy hier gly . . . ’n ervare bergklimmer is hier dood . .

Daar is ’n wa-

taan begin bid. Dankie vir die prag en dankie dat ons fi-siek in staat was om tot by die (ware) piek se onvergeet-like uitsigte te kon klim.

“Surfing Supertubes with just three otherguys in the line-up was the highlight of theSupertrial for me,” said an excited Prestwichafter his win.

“Seeing three big sets coming and knowing

I could take any waves I wanted too, was anamazing feeling and I cannot wait to surfagainst the likes of Kelly Slater in the JBayOpen next month.”

Prestwich is guaranteed a minimum purseof R109 000 for competing in the WSL JBayOpen, the only World Championship Tourevent that is held on the African continent.

Contest director Koffie Jacobs, said: “Su-pertubes delivered yet again and proved whyit is rated as one of the best waves in theworld. It was tough having to call off the JBUSupertrial lastweekendwith the gigantic surfthat battered the coastline, butwaiting the ex-tra week was worthwhile as we witnessed ahigh standard of surfing in Jeffreys Bay.”

Toyota is theworld’smost valuable automotive brand

TOYOTA retained the top spot as themost valuable auto-motive brand in the BrandZ™ Top 100 Most ValuableGlobal Brands report 2015.

Toyota’s brand was valued at $28,9 billion (approxi-mately R375 billion) and maintains its top 30 position inthe all-sector ranking.

In the 10 years since the BrandZ™ report was first pub-lished, Toyota has been crowned brand value leader inthe automotive sector eight times, and second on two oc-casions.

According to the report, although automotive sales im-proved in some regions, they remained below pre-reces-sion levels in others, adverselyimpacting overall brand values.

In contrast, global sales for To-yota in 2014 increased by 2,5% to10,2 million units, which contrib-uted to the company’s brandvalu-ation in this year’s report.

The report details some of thechallenges faced by the auto sec-tor, including the increasing dif-ficulty that auto makers face indifferentiating their product ran-ges, and the waning interest incar ownership from the ‘millen-nials’ (Generation Y) consumergroup.

TheBrandZ™Top100MostVal-uable Global Brands report, com-missionedbyWPPand conductedbyMillwardBrownOptimor, sur-veys some twomillion consumersin more than 30 countries.

Kerry Roodt, general managerofMarketingCommunications for

Toyota South Africa, is very excited about Toyota’s latestaccolade: “For me as a marketer the fact that Toyota, asthe world’s foremost automotive brand, is making a dif-ference to the way people live, is the best reward.

“Knowing that we stand out as different from the restand that we’re getting our message across in a clear andconsistentmanner is very reassuring indeed. But it’s sig-nificant in another way too, it highlights the fact that thebrand that puts its customers first, will win.

“That’s something we at Toyota have really strivenhard to do – give consumers something that they reallyneed, give them the service they deserve…and they’llstay smiling.”
