Currently, Malayan Sugar Mfg. Co. Bhd. (MSM) is seeking suitable qualified young & energetic candidates to fill in the following positions in our Prai Refinery in Penang and our warehouses in Sungai Buloh, Selangor and Johor Bharu, Johor.

Management Trainee - Packing (1 position vacant in Sungai Buloh, Selangor)

Main duties & responsibilities: Assume overall responsibility for the daily performance in terms of output quantity, weight accuracy and delivery & product quality of

the packing operation at Sungai Buloh warehouse; Manage and oversee daily operational activities such as 1-kg, 50-kg and 1-ton packing line, bulk tanker loading & unloading, and silo

filling and transfer; Co-ordinate and liaise with Logistics and Inventory Department on sugar stock condition and requirements; Co-ordinate and arrange all activities related to servicing, maintenance and upkeep of packing equipment with relevant Engineering

departments and contractors / vendors; Ensure compliance to all safety and health work rules and regulations; Lead and supervise team of operators and contract workers in execution of packing work; responsible for their work schedule; Ensure compliance to all regulations under ISO 9001 QMS, GMP and HACCP to meet strict food hygiene codes, Ministry of Health

standards and Customers’ Food Safety and other requirements.

Management Trainee – Logistic & Inventory (2 positions vacant: 1 in Prai, Penang and 1 in Johor Bharu, Johor)

Main duties & responsibilities: Manage and control refined sugar stock level in the warehouse. Co-ordinate in-coming and out-going sugar deliveries with Prai Logistic & Inventory Department and Marketing Department (Kuala

Lumpur) Co-ordinate daily working arrangements with KTMB and lorry transporters for loading and unloading activities. Supervise and oversee the work duties of MSM warehouse staff and contract workers. Oversee and ensure good working order of the warehouse equipment and facilities such as weighbridge, forklifts, floor sweeper,

scrubber machines etc. Oversee and monitor housekeeping condition of the warehouse. Oversee and monitor the security of the warehouse stocks and inventory.

Requirements: Degree or Diploma in related field; Computer literate, good written and verbal communication skills in English & Bahasa Malaysia; A team player, proactive, flexible, and able to work under pressure; Good interpersonal skills, result oriented and with a positive working attitude.

Management Trainee - Process (2 position vacant in Prai, Penang)

Main duties & responsibilities: Responsible for the daily performance in terms of production target, utilities consumption and sugar quality. Fully participate in process optimisation. Co-ordinate and arrange all activities related to servicing, maintenance and upkeep of process equipment with relevant Engineering

departments and contractors / vendors. Ensure compliance to all safety and health work rules and regulations.

Ensure compliance to all regulations under ISO 9001 QMS, GMP and HACCP to meet strict food hygiene codes, Ministry of Health standards and Customers’ Food Safety and other requirements.

Requirements: Hold a degree or diploma in a chemical engineering, food technology or chemical industry.

Main duties & responsibilities: Liaise with shipping agent to ensure all export shipments are managed on timely basis and up to customers’ satisfaction Responsible for export operations which include managing shipping lines, local transportation and export documentations

Steam Engine Driver (1 position vacant in Prai, Penang)

Main duties & responsibilities: Shall operate boilers and related equipment, and steam turbines safely and efficiently. Liaise with electrical and process for adequate supply of steam for power generation and process operation. Shall carry out inspection and maintenance work for boilers, steam turbines and their ancillary equipment. Manage and maintain proper records of boiler operation data and inventory records. Supervise boiler maintenance and repair work by contractor. Trouble-shoot boiler and steam turbine operations. Ensure compliance to ISO standard procedures, GMP, and safety and health work rules and regulations under FMD/OSHA Act

Requirements: Minimum qualification: Steam Engine Driver Grade 2 certificate by DOSH. Years experience in boiler operation : min 5 years Experience in water tube boiler with natural gas and mfo operation is an added advantage. Willing to work in shift and extended irregular working hours. Has basic computer knowledge in boiler operation

Instrument Technician (3 positions vacant in Prai, Penang)

Main duties & responsibilities: Maintenance, service and repair work for various Packaging Machines and perform in-house calibration. Maintenance, troubleshoot and repair work for electronic and pneumatic devices or equipment use for Plant Process Automation

Instrumentation. Perform simple panel wiring and field installation work.

Requirements: Minimum SPM; Prefer 1 - 2 years previous work experience in engineering related field; Good written and verbal communication skills in English & Bahasa Malaysia; A team player, proactive, flexible, and able to work under pressure; Good interpersonal skills, result oriented and with a positive work attitude.

Store Assistant - Logistic & Inventory (6 positions vacant: 1 in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, 1 in Johor Bharu, Johor and 4 in Prai, Penang)

Main duties & responsibilities: Monitor and record sugar receipts in to the warehouse Arrange, monitor and record sugar delivery to customers by lorry, tankers, containers or lighters according to the orders received. Operate the weighbridge. Carry out stock-check in the warehouse. Monitor the equipment used in the warehouse including forklift, industrial sweeper, scrubber, inverter and others. Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding areas.

Requirements: Minimum SPM; Computer literate; Good interpersonal skills, result oriented and with a positive working attitude; Ability to operate forklift is an added advantage.

Store Assistant Cum Forklift Driver (1 position vacant in Prai, Penang)

Main duties & responsibilities: To receive and issue packaging materials, chemicals, spare parts, etc. Drives forklift. To check whether all chemicals received are properly labelled and stored and to ensure compliance to all safety rules. To follow proper procedure for the verification of bags and film rolls received; To monitor the security of the warehouse stocks and inventory; To maintain good housekeeping in the 3 warehouses (especially Packaging Materials Warehouse).

Requirements: Minimum SPM; Knows how to drive a forklift; Possess some knowledge of warehousing; Must be computer literate; Able to communicate effectively with all levels of people; A team player with good work attitude.

Store Assistant – Equipment and Material Handling (1 position vacant in Sungai Buloh, Selangor)

Main duties & responsibilities: Verify the breakdown and repair on forklift and equipments. To monitor the usages of forklifts and equipments. To feedback on actual scenario on forklift and equipment usages. To monitor and take care of vehicle repair workshop. To check and count the return pallets and bags from customers To check and count the incoming pallets and bags from Prai. To monitor pallet washing

To verify with logistic side on all pallets and bags return to Prai. To assist EMH Prai to verify the date entry into KH system. To monitor diesel usages. Clerk - Logistic & Inventory (1 position vacant: 1 in Sungai Buloh, Selangor)

Main duties & responsibilities: Prepare and ensure daily refined sugar stock level in the warehouse tallies with stock in hand. Operates the weigherbridge when required Co-ordinate daily working arrangements with staff at Prai and KL on sugar stock and customer’s order. Monitoring and checking of contractors and transporter’s bills.

Operation Clerk – Shipping (1 position vacant in Prai, Penang)

Main duties & responsibilities: To prepare documents for customs clearance To declare and clear export documents at customs and Penang Port Commission

Requirements: SPM or equivalent with at least 1 year relevant working experience Computer literate Good interpersonal skills and able to work with minimum supervision

Lab Analyst/ Lab Trainee (1 positions vacant in Prai, Penang)

Main duties & responsibilities: Conduct routine analyses on intermediate and finished goods products. Work as a team to support QA’s functions to safeguard and maintain the quality and food safety of our sugar products.

Packing Operator (6 positions vacant: 4 in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, 2 in Prai, Penang)

Main duties & responsibilities: Operate packing machineries according to the set parameters in order to achive target; Ensure weight accuracy, packing quality and product quality for packed sugar; Carry out minor maintenance work for packing machineries; Lead and supervise team of contract workers in execution of packing work. Ensure compliance to all regulation under ISO 9001 QMS, GMP, HACCP and work safety of the Company.

Process Operator (5 positions vacant in Prai, Penang)

Main duties & responsibilities: Operate machineries according to the set parameter in order to achieve production target. Ensure good quality of intermediate and final products. Carry out minor maintenance work for machineries in production line.

Ensure compliance to all regulation under ISO 9001 QMS, GMP, HACCP and work safety of the Company.

Requirements: Minimum SPM.

Security Guard (1 position vacant in Prai, Penang)

Main duties & responsibilities: Ensure safety of employees and property of Company Safeguard, patrol and monitor any theft or violence in the premise Monitoring the entry of visitors, lorry drivers, vendors into the Company premise Writing daily report on the security activity in the Company.

Requirements: Male, below 45 years old
