1. The Contest is open to all professional and amateur cartoonists.

2. Subject "My Best Cartoon" is free.

3. Cartoons that won places in other contests can also be sent.

4. Each cartoonist can submit a max of 3 works.

5. Size of cartoons should be min A4, max A3

6. Deadline is March 01,2008.

7. Cartoons must be original. Copies are not accepted.

8. 0n the back of each work the following information should appear: first name, surname, address, telephone number and e-mail, accompanied by the entry form and author's short biography and photo. Otherwise, cartoons will not be accepted.

9. Cartoonists, whose works enter the catalogue of the Contest, will be sent the one as a present.

10.The Azerbaijan Cartoonists' Union is not responsible for damage that may occur during postage and handling.

11.The participating cartoons will not be returned.

12. All the rights of using of the cartoons sent to the Contest belong to Azerbaijan Cartoonists' Union.

13.The Cartoons will be selected by the International jury.

GALERIJA KARIKATURE “OsijeK”

predstavlja Vam66. Izložbu karikature

Izložba nije bila specifična samo po tome što smo s njom zaključili 2007. godinu! Nakon dugog vremena napokon smo dočekali da velikan svjetske karikature uđe i kroz naša vrata. Gospodin Davor Štambuk svjetski (a ipak naš) poznati karikaturista svojom je nazočnosti uljepšao otvorenje svoje izložbe pod nazivom “Šank Elysee”

Karikaturista i novinar, rođen 1934. godine u Splitu. Osamdesetih godina minuog stoljeća bio je autor i voditelj zabavnih emisija na Televiziji Zagreb.Profesionalnu karijeru karikaturiste započeo je u Parizu 1968. godine nakon dodjele nagrade Grand Prix Bellus koju mu je dodijelila redakcija tjednika France Dimache u zajednici sa sindikatom pariškog tiska. Godinu kasnije prelazi u visokonakladni tabloid ICI Paris u kojemu objavljuje do umirovljenja 1999. godine.2003. odlikovan je Redom viteškog križa od strane francuskog ministarstva za umjetnost i literaturu, odličjem koje se dodjeljuje pojedincima zaslužnim za promicanje francuske kulture i umjetnosti.

2007. odlikovan Danicom Hrvatskom s likom Marka

Marulića.Izložbu je otvorila, u ime župana Krešimira Bubala, gospođa Jasmina Lovrinčević. Izložba je organizirana u suradnji s Francuskim društvom “Circle Francais” iz Osijeka, te je prisutne pozdravila i gospođa dr. Pinotić.

mag. Štefanija Sokač uljepšala je, svojim glasom, samo otvorenje uz pratnju Stjepana Vrečka na gitari. Njima su se pridružili gosp. Boris Nikšić, predsjednik Društva pjesnika “Antun Ivanošić” i Vedran Rutnik sa svojom poezijom.

Specifičnost izložbi davala joj je činjenica da ju je obilježio znatan broj poznatih ljudi poput gosp. Pere Zlatara, hrvatskog novinara koji živi i radi u Beogradu, te hrvatskih karikaturista Roka Idžojtića i Krunoslava Silia.

"OsijeK”predstavlja Vam

67. Izložbu karikature

Poštovani kolege i kolegice, dragi čitači. vjerni pratitelji.. Želimo Vas obavijestiti o otvorenju 67. izložbe karikatura hrvatskog karikaturiste, ali svjetski poznatog, Tomislav Dušanić - Tod, na temu: Mine i ljudska glupost.Tomislav Dušanić - Tod rođen 9. srpnja 1957. godine u Tvrđavici. Od 1965. živi u Osijeku. Po opredjeljenju je karikaturista. Privi puta se, grafikama, pred javnošću pojavio 1978. godine, i otad ih je izlagao na tridesetak skupnih izložaba širom Slavonije i Baranje.Karikature je kontinuirano objavljivao u svim važnijim hrvatskim novinama. Svojim je radovima zastupljen u šezdesetak knjiga karikature, u Hrvatskoj i u inozemstvu. Imao je 60 samostalnih izložaba u Hrvatskoj, te oko 100 skupnih. Sudjelovao je na 60 skupnih izložbi u svijetu, a imao je i tri samostalne izložbe u inozemstvu: dvije u Njemačkoj (Bamberg i Nurnberg), jednu u Poljskoj (Gubin).Osnivač je jedinstvene Galerije karikatura "OsijeK" u svijetu. Objavio je nekoliko knjiga karikature:

1. Pogled unatrag za budućnost (1997.) 2. Punoglavci i ostali (na niti) (2001.) 3. Ilustrirao je knjigu "108 pitanja i odgovora o integralnoj meditaciji" (2002.) 4. Galerija karikatura Osijek 2000 . - 2005.Pripada značajnijim hrvatskim karikaturistima; o tome svjedoče brojna ugledna priznanja i nagrade: diploma, Havana (Kuba), 1992., Plaketa, Istanbul (Turska), 1993., Srebrna plaketa, Ankona (Italija), 1993., Peta nagrada, specijalno priznanje, Seoul (Korea), 1996., Novčana nagrada na Međunarodnom salonu karikature "Kopaonik", 1989., Peta nagrada, Bjelovar, 1998.Reagirao je na aktualne ratne teme, imao izložbe o minama i njihovoj opasnosti (60 izložaba). I danas hrvatski Crveni križ koristi izložbu njegovih "antiminskih karikatura".

Za takav tip "angažirane karikature" dobio je slijedeća priznanja;Zahvalnicu osječke podružnice Saveza HVIDRA-e, 1994.

Pohvalnicu vojno-športskog društva "Kuna", 1995.Zahvalnicu 3. Gardijske brigade 1999.

Dobitnik je županijske godišnje nagrade u kulturi za 2002. godinu.Izložbu je otvorila, dugogodisnja suradnica prof. Nevenka Špoljarić, novinarka "Glasa Slavonije". Podijelila je s prisutnima kako je izgledala suradnja s Tomislavom Dušanićem za vrijeme rata u Hrvatskoj; kako su se zalagali da javnost što bolje upoznaju i upozore o minskoeksplozivnim sredstvima i njihovom kobnom učinku na ljudske živote, naravno na kulturni način - kariakturom!Izložbu je uljepšao svojim pjesmama Zorislav Vidaković, pjesnik iz Društva Pjesnika "Antun Ivanošić" iz Osijeka.

REGULAMENTO General Rules and Regulations

The continuous violation of the Human Rights in the 21st century and after more than two centuries of French Revolution (1789) and 60 years after the Universal Declaration signed by UN in 1948, justifies the choice of this theme for the PortoCartoon 2008.This is a subject that crosses the world, from the most assumed countries in matters of the rights legislation to the most retrograde in the law and its practise. The UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS , starting with the 1st Article (“Every human being are born free and equal in dignity and rights”), continues to be more talk than action, despite the many conventions since 1948. Besides the individual rights, there are collective, social economical, cultural rights that every single day is forgotten.As one of the most important rights is the freedom of press, it is also fair and opportune with this 10th PortoCartoon to evoke and pay tribute to John Milton , the author of the first speech on this topic. The poet of the “Paradise Lost” was born 400 years ago (1608) and his speech, named Areopagitica was made in the English parliament in 1644.For all this, the active intervention of the cartoonists is very relevant on the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of the Human Rights.

FREE CATEGORYFor those who eventually do not wish to participate under this theme, there will be a FREE CATEGORY. The international politics, the social life, the communication and other themes can always by a way of expressing the humour art.

The artists who do not wish to compete can send their works to the EXTRA-COMPETITION section informing of this decision.

The works should not exceed 42 x 30 cm (DIN A3).

Works must be originals and any kind of graphical technique will be accepted, including digital artwork if the prints are SIGNED and if they are PRINT NUMBER ONE.

The works should present on the reverse the following information: author´s name and address, title, theme section and year. The author’s CV in Portuguese or English (publications, exhibitions, prizes…) should also be sent.

The works should arrive at the PORTUGUESE PRINTING PRESS MUSEUM until MARCH 31st 2008, with the entry form.

A contínua violação dos Direitos Humanos, em pleno séc. XXI e após mais de dois séculos sobre a Revolução Francesa (1789) e 60 anos sobre a Declaração Universal assinada pela ONU em 1948, justifica a escolha do tema para o PortoCartoon 2008.Trata-se de um assunto que atravessa todo o mundo, desde os países supostamente mais evoluídos em matéria de legislação dos direitos, até aos mais retrógrados na lei e na prática. A DECLARAÇÃO UNIVERSAL DOS DIREITOS HUMANOS , a começar pelo Artigo 1 (“Todos os seres humanos nascem iguais em dignidade e direitos”), continua a ser mais discurso do que acção, apesar das múltiplas convenções e profissões de fé feitas desde 1948. Além dos direitos individuais, há direitos colectivos, sociais, económicos, culturais, etc. postos em causa, todos os dias. Como um dos direitos mais importantes é o da liberdade de imprensa, torna-se também oportuno e justo, neste X PortoCartoon, evocar e homenagear John Milton , autor do primeiro discurso sobre o tema. O poeta do “Paraíso Perdido” nasceu há 400 anos (1608) e o seu discurso, denominado Areopagitica, foi proferido no parlamento inglês, em 1644. Por tudo isto, a intervenção activa dos cartunistas é muito pertinente no 60º aniversário da Declaração Universal dos Direitos Humanos.

TEMA LIVREPara quem não puder, ou não quiser, cingir-se ao tema central, em TEMA LIVRE há sempre lugar para a participação de qualquer autor no PORTOCARTOON. A política internacional, os costumes, a vida social, a comunicação, etc. podem ser sempre motivo para a expressão da arte do humor.

Os artistas que não quiserem concorrer aos prémios podem enviar os seus trabalhos para a secção EXTRA-CONCURSO, indicando-o expressamente.

As medidas dos trabalhos não devem ultrapassar os 42 x 30 cm (DIN A3).

Os trabalhos concorrentes devem ser originais, sendo admitidas quaisquer técnicas gráficas incluindo trabalhos digitais, desde que devidamente ASSINADOS PELO AUTOR e com a indicação expressa de que se trata da IMPRESSÃO NÚMERO 1.

As obras devem apresentar no verso as seguintes informações: nome do autor e endereços; título, secção temática a que se destinam, ano e devem ser acompanhadas por CV do autor (participação em exposições, prémios, publicações...).

Os trabalhos devem ser enviados para a sede do MUSEU NACIO-NAL DA IMPRENSA até 31 DE MARÇO 2008, acompanhados da ficha de inscrição.

The participation in PORTOCARTOON means automatically that the author is waving copyrights of his works in any kind of support, concerning the production and diffusion of the festival.

The AWARDS, including a TROPHY and a DIPLOMA, will be the following:

GRAND PRIZE PORTOCARTOON 7000 Euro (partially in money and partially in Port wine), travel and stay costs for the Awards Ceremony in Portugal

2ND PRIZE PORTOCARTOON 2500 Euro (partially in money and partially in Port wine), stay costs for a weekend in Portugal

3RD PRIZE PORTOCARTOON 1500 Euro (partially in money and partially in Port wine), stay costs for a weekend in Portugal

HONORABLE MENTIONS PORTOCARTOON 50 Euro, stay costs for a weekend in Portugal

The Jury will have an odd number of judges and their decision will be final with no subjection to any kind of appeal or reclamation. PRESIDENT OF THE 10TH PORTOCARTOON´S JUDGING PANEL: Georges Wolinski.

The awarded works will become property of the PORTUGUESE PRINTING PRESS MUSEUM and will be part of the INTERNA-TIONAL CARTOON GALLERY. The others will be sent to the artists, if formally requested, after its public exhibition during the PORTOCARTOON and possible exhibition in other cities and countries.

In case of using non-awarded works in other cases except PORTOCARTOON exhibition or its promotion, copyright payment will be made to the artists whenever it takes place.

All the artists whose works are selected for the exhibition will receive a catalogue.

The prizes will be delivered in a public ceremony.

A participação no PORTOCARTOON implica automaticamente a cedência de direitos à publicação e reprodução dos trabalhos em qualquer suporte, no âmbito da produção e divulgação do festival.

Serão atribuídos os seguintes PRÉMIOS, acompanhados de um TROFÉU e DIPLOMA:

A utilização dos trabalhos não premiados fora da exposição, promoção e divulgação do PORTOCARTOON fica sujeita ao pagamento de direitos de autor, nos termos em que forem devidos.

Todos os concorrentes cujos trabalhos foram seleccionados para a exposição terão direito a catálogo.

The yearbook will be printed and will have attached to it a DVD c o n t a i n i n g t h e drawings in high quality for printing. R u l e s1 – Why to participate?

Brazilcartoon’s International Yearbook 2008 will be released nationally and internationally and a lot of people will see it. Besides, it will be a historical document on the drawings of humor.

2 – What to send?

Cartoons that deal with a universal subject will be accepted, which means cartoons with no texts. The theme is free, however only cartoons that do not contain any kind of discrimination, be it religious, ethinic or pornographic will be accepted. Another category is Caricature and illustration following the same criteria just mentioned. The caricatured ones must be people internationally known at sports, politics, culture, etc. All techniques will be accepted, since the works are sent digitally.

3 – How to send the works?

All information must be provided so that we avoid frauds: Full name, address, picture, short biography, e-mail. Send to anuá[email protected]

Note: The same drawing must be sent through the system “The Best Day’s Humor” which is available at Brazilcartoon Home Page.

4 - Format:

All works must be sent through e-mail: 300 DPIs, color mode RGB, JPG format. Limit 20 x 17 cm.

5 - Number of works:

Candidates are allowed to send one work a day. Everyday Brazilcartoon will select three works (caricature, cartoon, Illustration) from different authors that will be part of the gallery “Yearbook 2008”

6 – Selection:

Participants selected for the Brazilcartoon’s International Yearbook 2008, will have the right of receiving a DVD, which will be sent through the mail service. The author must request it and he or she will pay only for the mail expenses.

8 - Deadline:

The drawings may be sent to anuá[email protected] from February 1st, 2008 to December 31st, 2008.

9 – Copyright:

From the moment the participant sent the drawings to us, he or she transfers their works so that they be part of the Brazilcartoon’s International Yearbook 2008 without any kind of charge for that. The drawings may be used for any kind of publicity concerning to the yearbook.
