Tom Loosz is cooking up a storm with his long handled Claret Ash spoons. I took Keith’s advice and sprayed them with water to fur up the fibers and sanded them down to reduce the amount they fuzz up when in use. I finished one of these with macadamia nut oil.

Kumiko Asanoha Pattern Based on regular hexagons, the Asanoha pattern is a geometric motif which resembles a hemp leaf. The beautiful traditional design is used not only in architecture but also in fashion and graphic design. The Asanoha pattern is currently one of the most popular traditional designs as it can be used for a variety of purposes. Kumiko is a traditional Japanese technique, made of many wooden bars crossed and laid to form various designs and expressions. No nails or metal pieces are used, and the wooden parts are put together by adjusting grooves and angles.
