RUSH SOCCER Copyright © 2002, Rush Soccer Page 1 of 2 Kevin O’Keefe - Bio Kevin O’Keefe- Staff Coach – Chicago Rush Soccer Club Kevin was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on a US Air Force base across the Rhine River from Mainz. After a few years his father, a USAF Captain moved the family to Edwards Air Force Base, CA where his brother was born, before eventually settling and growing up in the Chicagoland area. Kevin played youth soccer from leagues to clubs, leading up to high school. As team captain under coach Alex Hernandez (Co-founder of the Chicago Magic) his Bolingbrook Raiders team reached the IHSA Sweet 16. Advancing on to play 4 years at Benedictine University, Kevin again captained the Eagles to Conference Champions; the first in school history, scoring the deciding goal and was recognized “MVP”, “Offensive Player of the Year” and featured “Player of the Week” during his university career. Kevin began coaching in Bartlett in 2000 and then training for the Bartlett Hawks Soccer Club (BTSC) in 2006. While with the Bartlett Hawks, Kevin trained a spectrum of club teams and players of all ages, stages of development and skill levels for over a decade until the Bartlett Hawks became the Chicago Rush Soccer Club in 2017. Kevin holds a USSF B License, NSCAA (USC) Advanced National, Advanced Goalkeeping, High School Coaching and National Youth Diploma’s, the Coerver Youth Diploma and has held ISCA/USSF certifications. Besides his daughter playing club and HS soccer, Kevin’s nephew, Carter, plays for the Colorado Rush Soccer Club, playing in their US Development Academy. Kevin’s niece, Miranda, plays for Division 1, PAC 12, Oregon Ducks Women’s Soccer under Kat Mertz, playing top level players including national champions and runner up teams Stanford, UCLA and USC.
