Offered three times a year during district professional workshop days

If there is further interest, this presentation would be offered two additional times in an after school setting

Emails would go out to all district teachers informing them of the workshop and requirements

Enrollment by email sign up only, offered to the first 20 participants/per session

All would be notified about when and if they were given a place

If teachers missed the first round, they would automatically be signed up for the next, etc.

If they missed the first three rounds, interest would then be gauged for further presentations taking place after school

The session would take place in a Room 208, which is a larger room with single desks and is equipped with SmartBoard, computer and mounted projector

The workshop will run three hours

Good Morning Teachers:

This year during our district in-service days, a professional development workshop opportunity is being offered on the pros, cons and uses of Facebook. Facebook is a web based social networking tool that is used by teens to college professors. This is a introductory to mid-level presentation on Facebook. Besides being a social networking tool, Facebook can be integrated and infused into lessons for collaboration and cooperative learning. These sessions will be presentation based with opportunities for interaction between colleagues. Twenty people may sign up for each course. If all three sessions are filled up, and there is more interest, the course may be offered after school; depending on further interest. The presentation will be approximately three hours.

If you are interested in signing up for a session, please email me your name, grade taught, and what school you are in

You will be required to sign up for Facebook, unless you already have an account.

You must take time on your own to briefly read about the service, sign up and use the account. You may use a ficticious last name and location, but please use your first name.

You must email me your name and I will share names, so you can interact with your future workshop classmates

Please sign up a week before the workshop and try to log in at least two times

Please do not discuss your experience outside of when you are logged into Facebook

Once you have completed your two sessions on Facebook, please email me about: Why you signed up for this course? and one question, on Facebook, that you would like answered during the presentation.

Sessions will take place in Room 208 Sussex Middle School.
