    LEARNING CONTRACT

    ACADEMIC1. Students are required to attend and participate in the discussion for every meeting conducted in the

    classroom, at least 13 from the whole 16 meetings. A careless to this contract will cause ZERO for the aspectsof attendance and participation.

    2. Students are expected to have all references, especially the required ones.3. Students are required to read the materials and bring them into the class. For those who do not read and

    bring the materials are not allowed to come into the class.4. In Mini Seminar sessions, students (individually/in pairs) are required to present the topics which are focused

    on their understanding to the primary sources (texts) as written on the syllabus in English. The time allottedfor each presenter is 30 minutes, including question and answer and/or discussion sessions with audiences.

    5. Concerning such Mini Seminar sessions, students who turn to be presenters have to make a readingreport/comments to the primary sources (texts) supported by secondary sources at least three references(books) as well as making the schema/diagram which describe the points of thought and their relations from

    each figure. The schema/diagram could be made either on power point slides or just on the whiteboardavailable in the classroom.

    6. Students (individually) are required to write an academic essay; applying one of the critical theories learned inthe classroom into any kind of objects (as students wish to choose): novels, short stories, poems, plays,articles, essays, speeches, advertisements, etc. The paper should be argumentative (meaning that it is not areading report and/or a kind) which analyzes and interprets the works/objects based on the theory used. Theessay should be written in English; the font could be Times New Roman (12) or Garamond (13) either, 2spaces, left margin 4cm, top, bottom, right 3 cm, between 2000 up to 3000 words (excluding references). Theminimum references are five (5) books (no internet sources) with body note/in note for the technique ofquoting. The title is written on the first page (center text) together with the name and student reg.number/NIM (right align text) above the title. Do not put any cover and/or any pictures/words for the purposesof covering. The essay is submitted at the time of final exam of this course and to be the first requisite tofollow such an exam.

    7. Students are required to attend one Mid-Term Exam and one Final Exam. A careless to this contract will causeZERO for both aspects.

    8. Mid-Term Exam will be scored from the students involvement in National Seminar which will be planned atmeeting 9. This seminar is planned to be organized by students especially in the context of technical thingsby which usually organization committee holds. In relation to this agenda, students are required to pay theregistration for certificate handling and snacks about Rp. 10.000.00NON-ACADEMIC

    9. Students and lecturer are not allowed to smoke IN THE CLASSROOM.10.Students and lecturer are allowed to bring some snacks and soft drinks into the classroom.11.Students and lecturer are required to TURN OFF THE CELLPHONES OR SET THEM INTO SILENT MODE when

    they attend and sit in the classroom.
