MAY 2015
Keeping Members Engaged and Informed
Dear Members, On behalf of the entire Park Avenue Club Team and our Board, we say an enormous
thank you and farewell to Kathleen DiChiara, the founder of the Community Food-
Bank of NJ. Kathleen, who began delivering food out of the trunk of her station
wagon is retiring and leaving behind an unbelievable legacy . The FoodBank is now
the second largest in the country and for that we, along with so many, are forever
grateful for her dedication and passion for caring for others.
Many of you have asked how you might become more involved in our Park Avenue
Foundation charities and this Spring we have the way. There will be a celebration
dinner honoring Kathleen on June 4th, P.G. Chambers School will be holding their
“Red Carpet Market” on May 29th & 30th, The Morris Museum will be celebrating
Indian culture in three exhibitions beginning May 2nd and the Boy Scouts of America
will be hosting their American Whisky and Bourbon tasting on May 28th.
With so much opportunity for involvement with these great organizations, we wel-
come your support in continuing our mission...The Spirit of Giving.

BEYOND BOLLYWOOD: INDIAN AMERICANS SHAPE THE NATION May 2, 2015 – July 12, 2015
From the builders of some of America's earliest railroads and farms to Civil Rights pioneers to digital technology entrepreneurs, Indian Americans have long been an inextricable part of American life. The Morris Museum is proud to be the opening venue for this national tour of the first Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition, which details the history of Indian Americans and their contributions to the United States from the 1700s to the present. Created in collaboration with the Smithsonian's Asian Pacific American Center, this exhibition explores the Indian American ex-perience and the community's vital political, professional, and cultural contributions to American life and history.
THE FABRIC OF INDIA May 1 – August 15, 2015
Brilliant saris, shawls, and accessories in a profusion of colors and patterns will be the highlights of this exhibition. They include rich gold and silver brocades, intricately hand woven and tie-dyed silks, luxurious velvet and lace, gossamer cottons, and beauti-fully patterned embroideries.
THE ABSTRACT IN CONTEMPORARY INDIAN ART May 2 – July 12, 2015 This installation of 20th-century paintings by Indian artists explores the concept of abstraction as a vehicle for moving beyond culture through style, color, and form. These works explore style and color, as well as metaphorical facets of Indian culture.
The Morris Museum is located at 6 Normandy Parkway, Morristown, NJ 07960 and is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Fri-
day and Saturday, 11:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, 12:00 to 5:00pm. In addition, the Museum is open evenings from 5:00 to
8:00pm on the second and third Thursday of the month. For more information, call (973) 971-3700, or visit

They are in the business of growing Micro Greens, Mi-cro Vegetables, and Micro Specialties. We are thrilled to have Brand Ambassador, Natalie Dinina, on hand to present at our next cooking club.
