The official state language is Kazakh, a Turkic language closely related to Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Turkmen and Turkish.

Russian is the language of inter-ethnic communication.

English is used by international organizations and the foreign business community in Kazakhstan.

The emblem of Customs represents an octahedral gold star which personifies a planet and eight corners of four parties of light, the central element is shanyrak, the meaning center, the native house, peace and calmness on the ground. There are kinds of payments on import of goods: customs fee, import customs duty, excise tax and value-added tax.
