Dear customers,
you are looking at the catalogue of products and services which our companyoffers.
Allow me to introduce the company. The company operates in the Cinkarna
Celje company, a well-organized company, which has been active on the
international outlets for more than ten years. It is situated near Celje, in thedirection towards the east. Its business area are chemical and metallurgical
processes demanding high-quality technology and durable materials.
The business outlet is called VELFON. Its primary business area is servicing the production and ensuring the aggressive agents decantation systems and
protection of metal delivery and reinforced concrete systems. We are used to
extreme conditions which the production processes are exposed to. We gain
know-how and experience from solving our own problems. We are proficient in

PTFE, PFA FLEXIBLE PIPES
Metal flexible pipes have been on the market for quite a while. They are
made of high-quality stainless steel and special alloys. They are intendedfor use in conditions with strict demands in order to assure flexible and
absolute tight connection between the joints.
Due to the needs in the chemical and food industry we have developed
PTFE and PFA flexible pipes for aggressive agents decantation.
They can be used anywhere where high pressure is combined with high
chemical aggressiveness, high temperature, occasional moving, static and
dynamic bending, vibrations etc.
The pipe diameter can be between DN 15 and DN 65.
Thermal area of use:
Without outer braiding, outer stainless braiding - 40 do 260 °C
Outer polymer braiding - 40 do 90 °C
Outer rubber braiding - 40 do 100 °C
1. Stainless flange
They can be used for all media to which
stainless steel is chemically resistant, such as
concentrated sulphuric acid, alkalis etc. they aremostly used in food industry, since they meet all
the conditions (up to 260°C).
2. ETFE-protected flange
Pipes are resistant in most inorganic andorganic bases and acids, depending on the
media concentration it is resistant up to 160
°C. ETFE coating is highly resistant to
abrasion, mechanical impacts and ageing.

Pipes protected with PFA coatings are
resistant to 260 °C, whereas FEP coatings up
to 150 °C in diluted and concentrated organic
and inorganic acids, alkalis, organic solvents
etc. coating thickness is approximately 3 mm.
therefore it is resistant to abrasion.

BUTTERFLY VALVE DISC COATING
DIMENSIONS UP TO DN 250
Butterfly valve discs, protected with PFA C antistatic coating are a novelty in our production
programme. The coating is applied on metal parts with the traditional spattering process in the
transfer-moulding models. We have designed new disc form with the following outstanding
characteristics to the steel disc:
• Coating thickness up to 4 mm. • Electric conductivity 14 Ω/cm – useful in EX areas.
• Working temperature up to 260°C. • Stability in diluted and concentrated organic and inorganic acids,
alkalis and salt solutions, organic solvents, halogens and ozones.
• Shiny flat surface.
• Compared to the ETFE, it achieves substantially better resistance to
abrasion and bruising.
• Better sealing and longer disc lasting.

PRODUCT ASSEMBLY
The Veflon outlet deals with assembly of its own products apart from project engineering
and producing from PTFE material. Therefore we have recruited a service team with experienced
staff who is constantly being educated and completed with younger co-workers. The production
workers join the service team if necessary. The team has its own modern tool and means of
transport.
The Veflon outlet team advises, plans, repairs and assembles complex objects with its own
control, test and handover.
The assembly department consists of:
- mechanical engineers
- mechanical technicians
- mechanical fitters
Our business area is very wide and in compliance with the company’s activity programe.
You are invited to make sure on your own that the company is well-organized and has a
professional attitude towards the assumed responsibilities.

PTFE PISTON RINGS
In chemical, food and oil proccesingindustries a large number of nonlubricated
compressors, pumps and other devices
needing materials with good sliding and
sealing properties are being used. As an ideal
one showed the PTFE filled with fillers as
graphite, coal, coke, glass or molybdic
sulphide. By using the filled PTFE a dry
(nonlubricated) operation, economy of
lubricants and elemination of the “stick-
sleep” effect can be achived.
FILDS OF APPLICATION:COMPRESSORS AND
NONLUBRICATED COMPRESSORS
- Seling and guide rings for pressures
up to 220x105 Pa as well as radial and
tangential rings for sealing of piston
rods.
PUMPS FOR LIQUEFIED GASES
- Radial and tangential rings for axles
and sealing bushes
FORMS OF THE CONTACT
SURFACES AT THE SEALING
PISTONS RINGS
Owerlap Contact
With this technically the most exacting
contact form a maximum sealing effect can
be achived. The sealing degree remains
constant during the operation the dilatation,
hitch is a function of
temperature, has noinfluence on it. This
technically idel solutions
is recommendable for
those ompressors whose
pressure difference does not exceed 50x105
Pa.
Moderate Slope Contact
This contact form is
recomenmendable in
cases when extension springs are being used. This kind of sealing is needed for liquefied
gas compressors.
EXPANSIONS MACHINES
- Sealing elements and guide piston
rings as well as tangential and radial
rings.
PNEUMATIC AND HYDRAULIC
CYLINDERS
- Piston rod quides and seals.
Particularly there is a “stick-sleep” effectnoticeable and unwanted. The effect can be
eliminated by using the PTFE elements. As a
result the operatinon becomes precise and
regular. A wide range possibility of
application on the machines mentioned
above has some boundary values which
should be considered at constructions and
transformations:
- The average piston speed at compressors
must not exceed 4,5 m/s.
- The average piston speed at hydraulic and
pneumatic cylinders must not exceed 5 m/s.
- The working temperature depends on
pressure, ist maximal value is 460 K
( 187 °C).
- Pressures above 200x105 Pa
Slope Contact
Is being used for extremely high pressures up
to and over 200x105 Pa and for differences in
pressure above 50x10
5
Pa. The prerequisitefor a reliable
operation of the
machine is an exactly
evaluated working
temperature and a
precise calculation of dilatation.
Orthogonal Contact
The same usage as slope contact.

PTFE WITH FILLERS
With the help of filers the field of application
for PTFE is being strongly increased. The fillersinfluence the following properties of PTFE:
- Pressure resistance is increased 5-10 times.
- Wear resistance is increased up to 1000 times.
- Linear thermal expansion coefficient is reduced
by 80%.
- Heat conductivity can be increased with some
fillers 5 times.
- Hardness is increased by 10-15%
- Specified resistance is reduced.
The addition of fillers causes mainly a
reduction of tensile strength and breaking
elongation. The fillers do not reduce its
temperature resistance, whereas the chemical
resistance depends on the kind of filler.
The following fillers are mostly used:
glass, coal, graphite, bronze, steel, molybdic
sulphide.
FILLER PROPERTIES OF THE
FILLED PTFE
GLASS Pressure and wear resistance,
good chemical resistance.
CERAMICS Better chemical resistance withrespect to the PTFE filled with
glass.
COAL The most inert PTFE, especialy in
alkalies.
COAL, COKE Wear and pressure resistance,
good heat conductivity.
GRAPHITE Good heat conductivity, good
sliding properties.
STEEL 18/8CrNi Small deformation under
pressure.
MoS2 Very good sliding properties, wear
resistance.
BRONZE Very good sliding properties, wear resistance.
WEAR
When loading a sample of a pure PTFE
(without fillers) as it slides upon a perlit casting at
2 m/s with 1 N/mm2, an abrasion of 4 mm has
been found out as early after 6 hours.
The measurements of PTFE with fillers, on the
same testing conditions have shown only after 100
hours the following abrasions:
PTFE with graphite 3,25 mm abrasion
PTFE with glass 0,3 mm abrasion
PTFE with bronze 0,02 mm abrasion
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Chemical resistance of PTFE with fillers
decreases under the influence of very aggressive
media. E.G.:
- In Oleum at 423K (150 °C) in 1000 hours: by
0.3-0.7 %, that filled with coal and graphite by 5-7
%.
- In chromic acid at 423K (150°C) in 1000 hours:
the weight of PTFE filled with glass, coal, graphite increases 0,3-0,8 %.
-In fuming nitric acid and aqua regia at 373 K
(100 °C) in 1000 hours: the weight of PTFE filled
with glass, coal, graphite decreases by up to 1 %.
- In 50% KOH at the room temperature in 1000
houres: PTFE filled with coal, graphite shows no
changes whereas thw weight of PTFE filled with
glass decreases by 0.1 %.

SHELL-AND-TUBE HEAT
EXCHANGERS
The shell-and-tube heat exchanger is
made out of number of parallel pipes that are
closed in a cylindrical casing. The heat
transfer is established when there is a
temperature difference between a warm and a
cold fluid's stream. This model of a heat
exchanger can be used in the same way as
those exchangers made out of other materials,
e.g. metal. But this model holds a very special
place in those production processes, where
problems with corrosion occur (such as
chemical, pharmaceutical, food industry) and where demands after chemically
resistant materials exist; PTFE is one of them for sure. We install them in systems
among the pipelines.
The core of the exchanger is made out of PTFE head and bunch of PTFE pipes.
Supporting construction is made out of steel.
According to the need we can
protect the supporting construction
with ETFE on the inside as well as
on the outside, or we can add the
PTFE coat on the inside.A strong medium's stream on
the both sides of the exchanger is
aimed at the segments that enable a
high exchange proportion. They can
be used in the systems with either
different or same media: gas/gas,
gas/liquid, liquid/liquid.
Exchangers can be used for heating

PN 1.1
ETFE is a thermoplastic copolymer derived from the
polymerization of Ethylene and Tetrafluoroethylenemonomers. This resin is extremely tough and abrasion
resistant, and has excellent chemical resistance,
dielectric strength, and a low coefficient of friction.
USAGE
ETFE fluoropolymer resin is a proven performer in the
chemical and petrochemical processing industries. It
has gained notable recognition for its unique properties
and design versatility, which are helping solve some of
the industry’s toughest material problems in process equipment and components. ETFE provides
excellent resistance to attack by the chemicals and solvents that can cause rapid deterioration of
other plastics and all but the most costly metal alloys. ETFE is inert to strong mineral acids,
inorganic bases, halogens, and metal salt solutions.
ETFE COATING
The most common method is electrostatic application,
using high voltage of 30-100 kV of negative polarity,
which causes large number of electrons to adhere to the
ETFE coating particles on their way through the
electrostatic gun. This creates an electric field between
the gun and the piece of metal and as a consequence powder particles adhere to the opposite side of the
object.
In addition to its chemical resistance, ETFE has
excellent mechanical strength, stiffness, and abrasion
resistance. This may be an important consideration for process applications where abrasive
slurries accelerate wear and degradation of alternative materials. ETFE has a broad continuous-
use temperature range from -150º F to 300º F (-100º C to 180 ºC). Specific temperature ratings
vary depending on equipment design and chemical environment, thus it is important to consult
with component manufacturers for in-use service recommendations.

Basis
The construction of the supporting element needs to be correctly manufactured and to meet
standards, determined by the branch. Furthermore, it needs to respond to the following demands:
• metal components DIN 28051
• surface and weld beam processing DIN 28053
• concrete and reinforced concrete components
Contact surfaces preparation
Basis surfaces need to be cleaned and harsh enough: metals by abrasive blasting according to the
Sa 3 Swedish standard. Surface harshness is 50 µm.
Conducting layer
Conducting layer is built on the concrete and reinforced concrete components in order to ensure
electric conductivity for carrying out the elastomer (rubber) sealing control.Main coating
The purpose of applying main coating is to ensure the best quality adhesion of next layers and
protection against corrosion.
Adhesive
The adhesive is chosen according to the loading and the kind of the elastomer (rubber) used.
Elastomer mixtures (rubber films)
The film thickness is connected to the durability. 2 to 10 mm thick films are used. The price
depends on the thickness; therefore it is important to dimension the thickness correctly according
to the expecting loading.
The table below shows some of the basic rubber film mixtures, their physical properties,
resistance and the way of vulcanising.

VF0111-NR/SBR, graphite – the mixture is appropriate for vulcanising in autoclave, for drinking
water equipment rubber coating. It has all the necessary certificates for it.VF0113-NR/SBR, graphite - the mixture is appropriate for vulcanising in autoclave, for
chemical and process industry equipment rubber coating. It offers resistance to acids and alkali up
to 100˚C.
VF0114- NR/SBR, graphite - the mixture is appropriate for vulcanising in autoclave and with
hot water, therefore it is used for installing on the field where needed. It is used for chemical and
process industry equipment rubber coating, especially for steel tank and pool rubber coating. It
has high resistance to HCl and other acids.
VF0115-IIR - the mixture is appropriate for vulcanising in autoclave. It is used for rubber coating
of galvanic tanks for chromium plating.
VF0116-CR – self-vulcanising mixture with good resistance to abrasion. It can also be vulcanised
in autoclave. It is used for steel and concrete tank rubber coating on field and process equipment
rubber coating where there is greater abrasion, such as sand mills, pipelines for sand transport,
spiratrons, different cyclones etc.
VF0118-BIIR – soft rubber, used for vulcanising in autoclave. It offers great resistance to alkali
and acids up to the temperature of 100˚C. It is used for process equipment rubber coating, such as
pipelines, stirrers, etc.
VF0119-BIIR+CR, adhesive coat – two-coated mixture. The upper coating had already been
vulcanised, whereas the lower is not vulcanised serving as better adhesion for steel, rubber or
concrete. The mixture is used for repairing rubber coating damages.
Hints for choosing a rubber filmChoosing a rubber film is professionally demanding task. It depends on the necessary
characteristics which the film should have in order to meet the needs and purpose of use. The
characteristics depend on the loading to which the coating is about to be exposed during its use.
There are three main types of loading, influencing the choice:
- mechanical loading
- chemical loading
- thermal loading
In order to include more data, we have enclosed a questionnaire to the catalogue. Accurate and
correct information enables quality choice of materials and of the technologic procedure itself. We
recommend that an expert makes the choice.
VulcanisingMost rubber films need to be thermally processed. Autoclaves are used for that because they
ensure the accurate temperature input into the rubber. The similar effect is achieved by using
steam or hot water. After vulcanising, the rubber has the characteristics from the table.
Rubber coating quality control
The following quality controls are exerted during the process:
• conductivity measuring which reveals possible porosity
• hardness measuring
• thickness measuring
