KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY 2020-21 Scholarships and Awards Power of AND: Whether you want to connue in a favorite acvity or academic program or get involved in internships or community service, you will receive a Power Award up to $4,000 (off-campus $3,000) to recognize your contribuons to the KWU pack. Ad Astra Scholarship: This is an offer of $60,000 in undergraduate scholarships ($15,000 per year) that is applicable to any student graduang from a Kansas high school, Kansas homeschool, transfer from a Kansas college, or any resident of Kansas who is new to KWU. Saline County Scholarship: This scholarship is a $70,000 award ($17,500 for four years). Any high school/home school student who resides at an address in Saline County, and is new to KWU, is eligible. Central Kansas Scholarship: This scholarship is a $70,000 award ($17,500 per year) and is applicable to any high school or home school student who resides at an address in the following counes and is new to KWU: McPherson, Oawa, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Dickinson, Marion. Valedictorian Scholarship: The Valedictorian Scholarship recognizes Kansas resident graduang high school seniors that have achieved Valedictorian status (per high school counselor) with a minimum GPA of 3.9. Must complete a Valedictorian Quesonnaire along with a campus visit by March 1. Home school students are eligible as well, but must meet an ACT score requirement. Phi Theta Kappa: Any transfer student who is a member of Phi Theta Kappa is eligible for addional merit aid of $1,000. • Discreonary Scholarships: Athlecs, Fine Arts, Debate, Academic Discipline: Students can only receive one discreonary scholarship. 50%LegacyScholarship: This 50% tuition scholarship is available to children and grandchildren of alumni who are full-time, on-ground new undergraduate students. This scholarship may not be combined with any other KWU scholarship or grant offer.

50%UnitedMethodistScholarship:This 50% tuition scholarship is available to all members of the United Methodist Church. The scholarship opportunity applies to full-time, on-ground new undergraduate students. This scholarship may not be combined with any other KWU scholarship or grant offer.

NursingScholarshipDayis an event held for new students (freshmen and transfers). Students must have a 2.8 cumulative GPA. The competition is designed to recognize new students who exhibit academic achievement and leadership. Scholarships will be awarded to the top students based on a personal interview, academic achievement and leadership.

EisenhowerScholarshipCompetition: The scholarship competition is a biannual event for students in their senior year of high school who meet the invitation requirements, which include a 3.5 cumulative GPA. The competition is designed to recognize first-time, first-year, undergraduate students who exhibit academic achievement, community service, and leadership. This scholarship will cover the full tuition cost for on campus students for the 2021-22 academic year.

RebeccaChoppTransferScholarshipCompetition: The Rebecca Chopp Transfer Scholarship Competition is an annual event for students who have completed at least 24 hours of transfer-eligible course work with a 2.75 cumulative GPA. The competition is designed to recognize new transfer students who exhibit academic achievement, community service, and leadership. This scholarship will cover the full tuition cost for on-campus students or 75% of tuition costs for off campus students, each for the 2021-22 year.

BillMcMosleyTalentScholarshipCompetition:Wesleyan’s talent competition is a biannual event for students. One 75% scholarship will be awarded after each competition. Vocal, instrumental, orchestra, Rise Up, theatre, the Howl, and debate competitions take place in December (Virtual) and February. In addition, we will award major scholarships to the top six winners in each category.
