80% of all cases in the higher courts of England and

Wales go unreported, and often contain important

or influential decisions that cannot be found in any

reported series. For example, since 2013, unreported

cases have negatively cited over 800 reported

cases from the UK higher courts, as shown in the

graph below. A similar pattern exists in many other

jurisdictions.
