Do you know where the AMAZON rainforest is? Do you know what plants and animals are in it? WELL IF YOU READ THIS YOU CAN FIND OUT!!!!*!!!!*!!!!Here is my story. Hi my name is Justin Palmer. I and a couple of friends decided to go on an adventure. We were planning on riding in an airplane over the Amazon Rainforest. My friends that were with me were Michael Miles, Tanner Hucks, Jesse Ballew, and Dakota Kiker. We were planning on riding over the Amazon rainforest in a plane.

ThursdaySo here we are sitting in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We are at the dean dome which is the Tar heels stadium we are here to remember our favorite NCAA team before we take this trip but Dakota isn’t too thrilled about it because he likes duke which sucks badly.

JUSTIN P.Thursday, April 07, 2011Period 5 So today we are at charlotte Douglas airport we are renting our own plane for the trip while we are there we are trying to find some animals that we are interested in and some tribes and plants. We see the levels of the rainforest the UNDERSTORY, the CANOPY, the EMERGENT LAYER, and the FOREST FLOOR. Most animals live in on the forest some animals live in the understory and the canopy the emergent layer is the top where the hawks fly in search of food.So we take off flying,

here is the plane we are on it isn’t that big on the outside but it is pretty big on the inside so we were riding over the Amazon rainforest Me, Tanner, Michael, Jesse, and Dakota are sitting up in the plane waiting for our queue our mission is mission is to conserve the forest and protect the animals in their natural environment or habitat , the culture and to protect the rainforest from deforestation we are trying to find some predator and prey the natural climate in this area is hot and sunny it rarely rains in this area. Here is a climate map of South America the area’s natural weather is around 70o Fahrenheit.

We jump out of the plane skydiving to the ground we are having fun with the wind in our hair

and the smiles on our faces as we fall through the air.

We have landed on the ground we are going to navigate, and work through this adventure

We have the supplies we need we have guns for me, Tanner, Jesse, and Michael; I do not

trust Dakota with a gun so we are not letting him have one.

Saturday

We are trying to keep as camouflaged as possible on this trip at this point in our trip we are

trying to watch plants go through photosynthesis have seen little foliage, Here are the two

plants that we saw. The orchid uses for this plant are

enjoyment and decoration. This plant grows mostly on trees.

some brazil nuts. uses for this plant are oil and food its

habitat is in non flooding areas or on trees.

Also why we were there we saw two native tribes practicing their nomadic culture I believe,

Page 7: Justin P. Rainforest Book

I went to check it out and I think the two tribes were the yanomami and the machiguenga

tribes here are some pictures of the two tribes

THE YANOMAMI TRIBE

which values war and peace.

the live deep in the forest as well as the yanomami tribe.the machiguenga eats mostly

omnivores and herbivores some carnivores.

THE MACHIGUENGA TRIBE

UP which also values war and peace do not exactly know what they were doing

here but why they were doing whatever the plant talked to me it said “you better start

watching me I’m going through the change”

And It was really creepy out, I said back to it “ are you now are you?” also I said “what’s your

name?” and he says “ my name Pablo” and I’m like “nice name” I said sarcastically, and I saw

Pablo changing he was blooming into a flower.

I was confused I thought to myself how can something that is a boy bloom into something so

beautiful.

SUNDAY

Today we are out to find two animals the anaconda and the jaguar. One of the anaconda’s

adaptations that the animal has is its colored skin is camouflaged. The animal is a carnivore it

is a single organism. This animal is indigenous to the area. are walking though the forest

when Dakota says he is tired so we decide to take a rest for a couple of minutes and an

anaconda and says “ hi guys want to have some fun” and we are like “ sure” and here is a

picture of what he looked like as he was curled up

So we play this game that he we play hide – and – seek

It gets really boring to me and the other guys.

So we just run through the forest together I don’t think he notice we were gone and we are

hiking through the forest and we hear a voice from above us and were all like what but it

turns out to be a jaguar talking to us I can see in his eyes that he wants to eat us but I don’t

want to admit it, here is a picture of what the animal looked like
