Matthew 7:21-23

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

•…The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. (verse 10)

"Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!' "But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.' (verses 11-12)

He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power 10on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

•God is Light:•1 John 1:5 --

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

•Acts 26:17-18 --

I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

•2 Peter 2:17 --These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them.

•Jude 6 -- And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.

•“But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
