Chapter 1

I'M HA VING SUCH A HARD TIMEWhen I am trying to help some folk, and give th em a dv ic e h ow

to obtain and retain healing, I can't get them to hear a word I amsaying. Why? Because they ar e busy tel ling me about the ir pains , the irsufferings, t he ir trials, etc. It is t he ir back, th ei r leg, or t he ir head.They have been mis trea ted. They have suffered so much.

I know one good b rot her who suffers so much. I pray for him. Iask him if he is easy and he will say, "0 , just right this moment Iam ; but I am having such a hard time. Of course, t he p ai n is go ne

ri gh t now, b ut it comes back every ni ght until I can't sleep. I just liet he re an d rol l -and can't sleep. It is my back, and my stomach, myhead, a nd my kidneys, and I believe I must have a cancer, and maybeheart trouble. I must have high blood pressure. I am j us t run downall over." I say "Yes, but you are easy now?" "Oh, yes ," he answers ,Ubut I mu st h av e can ce r, and people d on 't seem to know wh at a ba dcondit ion I a m i n. " I say, "Yes, but you jus t now rece ived your hea ling ,didn't y ou ? You sho ul d believe an d p ra is e the L or d. " "O h me, I wishI c ou ld get my he ali ng . Get Your Mind on Jesus

Maybe you are having a hard t ime. Jesus i s the burden-bearer. l l s

Try never to mention your problems to anyone,b ut Je5us, f or six m c n ~ h s ,and see if you do n't improve. I t is alrig htto be prayed for, but then don't tell anyone else about it, not evenyour folk. Maybe it is just sympathy you desire instead of your healing.Your tooth concerns you more than all the suffering tha t took place inthe last two wars, and all the pains in the hospitals of the world!You should not be so self-centered.

Get y ou r eyes off yourself a nd p ut them on the sufferings of J es usfor awhile. Think how much He suffered. He d id n't whine aroundand tell everyone He met. No, He helped others. He set us an example .Look at His s tr ipes! Why did He suffer those s tr ipes? HE TOOK OUItINFIRMITIES AND BORE OUR SICKNESS. So stop car ry ing themaround i f He has a lready bore them. l 67

Complaining Hinders Healing

Murmuring defiles the whole body. It brings sickness and diseases.I t causes cancer, and he;art disease. Your food will not d igest r ight if

you are discontented.

So many people, when they get healed and feel better, will no tconfess it ; for they are afraid they will lose the sympathy of thepeople. T he y will still h ol d t he ir stomach a nd g ru nt , or hold the irleg and limp!

Co mplain ing is a sin. That is the reason the Children of Israeldied. They complained and murmu red about what a hard t ime theywere having. When we complain about what we have to go thr oug hwith we are complaining against God. "I n everything give thanks."

When they looked to the serpent, the type of Jesus, they were healed.1lis

Moses condemned complaining! God condemned it! Pa ul condemned it! Jesus co ndemned it! H ab ak ku k co ndemned i t! J ud e sai d

People h ave lea rn ed in the hospitals i f th ey ca n p la y music, andkeep a person' s spi ri t up, he will regain hea lth more quickly. Keep himcontented' and his food will digest.

When a person gets d iscouraged he will d iscourage al l the peoplehe meets. That is the reason the L or d comman ded all t he f ear fu l andafraid to go back. 161

Some workers at a factory were said to have planned a joke011 their employer. One went in a nd said, "Go od morning, how areyou"? You don' t look so well to day." He said he was doing j ust fine.

.Another came by and said, "How ar e you Mr. B- - ? You look pale,yOl l must be sick t od ay." He sa id h e was feeling a little "tuff" bu t howould 'pull through.

The next one who came by rece ived the answer that he was feelingbadly. Before noon he ha d gone to have a check-up.

I can be driving ~ ca r down the road. I can imagine I have a flat.T ha t c ar will drive like 1 can 't get much far ther. I get o ut a nd proveto myself that 1 have no flat and the ca r will dr iv e like i t m ay last forluany years.

So it is with you. A lot of the trouble is in your head. God hatesimagination, because it is of the devil. That steals your faith. It causesdoubts. That causes you to mak e excuses a nd miss y ou r heal ing Gpdhas for you. 162

Why Be a Chronic Complainer?Don't live where people will dread to meet up with you, and where

no one can pray a prayer of fai th for you. You will never rece ive yourhea ling unt il you expect your healing . I f you are borrowing t roublefrom tomorrow you will never receive anything from the Lord.

Jesus said they were going over to the other side. The disciples saidthey were going to the bottom of the lake and drown. No wonderJesus said, "0 you of little f ai th ." They had rather believe the imagination of the devil than to believe Jesus ' Word. 163

The Lord said, "I am the Lord that healeth thee." The devil says,"You o ug ht to go h ave a check-up. You m ay h av e a c an ce r. " I t i.s according to which one you believe, whether you will be hea led or not.From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. When someoneasks you how you are, just say, "Praise the Lord. I am depending onthe promises of the Lord. He said He is the Lord th at healeth me." Itis not wrong for you to say, "I t is written," if Jesus did. 164

Habits will grow on you. The habit of complaining is no exception .Brother B. went to see one Sister who was suffering. She began

like this: "I d on 't know why I have to suffer so much. 1 have lived

for God twenty years.I

Brother B. said, "Sister, repent and get right with God and you'will receive healing."

Brother B. said, "Sister, you are grumbling. That is a sin! You:should rejoice in everything. You didn't know that complaining spiritwas in you. This sickness brought it to the surface. Now repent of it, an dget ri d of it."165

When she repented and confessed she was delivered of that spirit, an d

was healed.The joy of the Lord will help you. Get a refilling of the Holy

Ghost. Let Him speak thr ou gh you. Th at will build you up in f a i t h ~

Chapter 2

I HAVE TO SEE SOMEONEHEALED FIRST

' "Seeing is believing," according to some people's philosophy. Some-slate plainly that they will believe nothing until they see it. Somedon't s ay t ha t w ith t he ir mo uth , but b y t he ir ac ti on s t hey are saying

just that.

God Required Believing FirstTh e wor ld says, "Show me an d I will believe," but God says , "Be

'lieve an d I will show you." "Blessed is she that has bel ieved for there-shall be a performance." After you see something, fai th is not in opera' bo n. You Can't See the Power of GodYou can't see the Gifts of the Spirit. You can hear t hr ee o f t hem

You can't see radio waves, bu t i f youbelieve they ar e coming t hro ug h y our ro om you will get a receivingse t an d tune it in. W ha t if y ou wo uld sa y that you a re n ot g oi ng t o

believe there ar e rad io waves? Shouldn 't you as soon bel ieve God as the-scientist?

God revea ls Himse lf to fai th only. You must bel ieve His Word, andno t make Him out a liar .168

You could say the same thing about salvation. But you wouldnever get saved . Suppose you would tell people that you would never

You c an 't see el ectrici ty. You can see result s. I f I would put myhand in a light socket you could see me sling my h an d, but you wouldhave to have enough faith in me to take my word for it, or you would

not believe that I felt t he power. Sup po se you would say you want t osee someone get the ir p rayers answered.

Yo u may see my t ab le loaded down with food , but if you ha d nofait h i n me you would n ot believe me, when I told you th at I got itin answer to prayer. You would say, "I t would have happened anyway."

Unbelief Will Not AcceptEven after things come to pass, unbel ie f will not accep t it as being

fro m th e Lord. People say if some cer ta in man will rece ive hea ling ,t hey will believe it. When he gets well they will find one more, an dsay the same thing. They make God out a liar unless one m ore getshealed.

The r ich man in he ll told the Lord, tha t i f Lazarus would be sen t backfro m the d ead h ~ "b ro th er s w ou ld believe. T he L or d t ol d h im t ha t i fthey would D'Jt I1flleve the Word of God, when it was preached tothem, then they would not believe a person who came back fromthe dead. That means if you don' t bel ieve the Word o f God, as it is inthe Bib le, i f you don't believe the preachers, then you would not believeit if !'lnmeone would get rai sed f rom a dea th bed, or was brought backfro m the dead in answer to pray er.I 70

people will fight a nd say they d on 't believe, if they are full of thedevil anyway.

The y sa y i t would have ha ppe ne d anyway. I told a m an we prayedfor rain and it rained. He was a good customer. He had been trading with me about six years. I thought he would rejoice with me. Hes aid, " Yo u could have h ung up a snake and it would have rained jus tthe same. I f you would have hung up two snakes i t would have rainedmore ." I could just see the unbelief rise up i n him. He stopped tradi ng with me a nd w ouldn 't come ba ck any more.

The people in St. John 9, a fte r they saw a man was healed, wl.ohad been blind all his life, said, "He is a man just like him. Heis not the same m an ."

Beware unless you doubt i t a fter you see the results of hea ling.

Faith Cometh by HearingF ait h cometh by h ea rin g the Wor d of God, n ot b y seeing so much.

Unbelief will not believe after i t sees. I t shuts i ts eyes. H I

I f you want faith in your he art just re ad an d obey the Word. Hewill send His Wor d and heal you. Tr y re ading Exodus 15 :26 seventimes each d ay for seven days, a nd do j us t what it says. You will ha ve

faith. Faith cometh by hearing instead of by seeing. Read the Word until

you feel the a ss uranc e t ha t i t is tr ue . I t takes praying and living right

also. I f you will obey it you can understand it. That is the only way.17!

or toward a rel igious program. You can tune the receiving set of your

soul towards doubts, or towards faith.

you didn' t know they were there, because your receiving set was out of

Receive the Wor d of God into your heart. It will bring hea ling . All

things you ask believing yo u shall RECEIVE.

Chapter 3

MY CASE IS CHRONIC

Do you feel t ha t y ou r case is c hr on ic ? Don't you think there i s an yuse in being prayed for? That is the reason that you do not receive healing. Although you are prayed for, your case being chronic does not keepyou f rom bei ng healed, b ut the excuse in y ou r m in d creat es a dou bt.

Faith as a Grain of Mustard SeedIf we have faith, as a grain of mustard seed has faith, we can

move a mountain of afflictions. When a mus ta rd seed comes up it refuses to be discouraged. If it is cut down i t still tries. I f i t is coveredup i t still pushes its head out and looks up. I f the win te r b ites it offi t i s s ti ll encouraged to look up to i ts heavenly Father in the Spr ing. ri 3

B ro th er, Sister , why c an 't you have that much courage to keeptrying? I f you have to ri de the al ta r bench all the way be determinedto go t hr ou gh .

I helped a chronic seeker to the Holy Ghost the other day whoha d been seeking for ni net een yea rs. A ch ro ni c s in ne r gets saved.Which is eas ie r for Jesus to say, "Thy sins be forgiven thee," or to say,"Rise, take up thy bed and walk?"

No case is incurable, but some people are. I t is because the excuseis in there.

Jesus Specializes in Chronic CasesMany of the Bible r eco rds where people were healed show i t was

after everything else had fai led. They were pronounced incurable.

Did any of these people s tand back and have to beg to be h eal ed?Did they whine around an d say that t he ir case was too m uc h? I f theyha d made such an excuse, they would not have received their healing.Their names would not have even been mentioned in the Biblerecords. 174

He Is Just the Same TodayWe have so many tes timonies today where people t ri ed every th ing

else, and then they came to t he Lo rd.

T he w ri te r h as such a testi mon y. Af te r ni net een year s o f c hr on icdisease, when it looked like all was hopeless, then he came to Jesusafter everything else fai led. He was not disappointed.

Many will n ot come until they fail an d give up. A ft er t he Physicians give them up that is when they rely fully on the Lord. Man'sextremity is God's opportunity. When you walk out of your own

strength that is when you c an walk o ut i nt o God 's str eng th. W he n y oucome to the end of yQurself that is when God b egi ns. Believe God's WordDid He say He was the Lord that healeth thee, if y ou r case

was n ot too hard? Did He say He healeth all our diseases except thechronic cases? Did He say He would deliver us out of all our affiict ions , except the chron ic cases? Tradition of the elders makes the Word of God of none efiect.They teach that'when the Bible was completed then all healing, tongues,

miracles, in fact everyth ing except fa ith , hope, and chari ty was doneaway with. They say that the scripture in I Cor. 12:30, means just that .

But I Corinthians 13 t eaches the opposite. Don 't we st il l havefaith? Don't we sti ll have preaching and teaching? Don't we still haveknowledge? Don't we have wisdom? Do we see face to face now? Thenext verse says for us to "desire spiri tual gifts."187 "When that whichis per fec t i s come" means when we step beyond th is life a nd see faceto face. We will know as we are known then. We no longer will needthe spiri tual gift of the Word of Knowledge but we will know aU thingsinstead of having jus t a word now and then .

The tradition of the elders is trying to make the "perfect law ofl iber ty" an " imperfec t law of bondage ." People are teaching that theWord of God no longer l iberates or sets men free. They say the Wordo f God no longer h as power to heal.

The truth still remains, "He sent His Word and healed them," andfaith cometh by hear ing, and hearing by Word of God. The Word of-God still goes to th e j oin ts a nd marr ow. It is still life to y ou r flesh.I t i s st ill the per fect Law of Liberty. It sti ll sets men free. It is sti ll-quick and powerful. It is the Perfect Law of Liber ty instead of the 1m,perfect Law of Bondage. 188

The Bible Proves HealingThe Word of God is forever the same. From lid to lid there is

:power i n the Word-POWER TOo HEAL! Miracles have been i n all.dispensations. He is the God of miracles in all dispensations. In every;age, people have t ried to put miracles in the past, but God has proved;Himself forever the same.

Moses proved miracles were no t in the past. Gideon proved it.' Samso n p roved it to his generation. Jo b pr oved i t to h is generation.'Hezekiah proved it. David proved i t and preached it. Then, about the7.time people began to put them in the past again, God moved by send"ing greater miracles than ever through His own Son and through the.early Church.

We have oth er generations who have come u p a nd decided t ha t-.miracles were all in the past. But God is moving on the scene r ig ht--do the face of it all and doing the same things He used to. He is still1he God who is enough.

No one has a right to change another's name. God's name is.Jehovah-Rapha, meaning the Lord our healer. That means "I am theLord tha t healeth thee ." Yesterday His Name was Jehovah-Rapha;Today his name is Jehovah-Rapha; and tomorrow i t will be Jehovah-Bapha. He is forever the same. He does not change. He is not I Was~ r I Will Be, But His Name is still I Am. 189

So every time anyone takes the Lord's Supper he is doing thesame thing. When you drink the fruit of the vine you are saying," Je su s' blood was shed f or my sins. " When you p ar ta ke of the b re ad

you a re saying, " Th is is His bod y which was b roken f or the healingof my bo dy. " Th erefore, i f a perso n believes t ha t divine healing h asp a s ~ e daway, why does he not discard the b read, and use the f ru it ofthe vine only?

This is the Church period. The age in which the early churchlived will ex tend unt il the Rapture of the Church . Paul and Peter l ivedin the "last days." The Church is one. There is no age called the ageof miracles. Th e gifts belong to the whole Church. Otherwise t he reare two churches instead of one. Jesus prayed that we be one.

Are there two churches, one which was given the gifts, and' the

other which was stripped of all supernatural power. The Bible does notsay so.

Healing is part of the present Church, the whole Church, fo r th e

elders to administer. God set the gifts in it .. When d id they ieave?

Don't exalt the Apostles, and others, who did great things, and forget that they did it not, but it was the Holy Ghost which workedt hr ou gh them. The Holy Spi ri t came to glori fy Christ,193 Could He glorify Christby tel ling the sick and suffering that Christ is not moved with compassion any more, and by saying, "He can , but He won't?" By telling themtltat healing is passed away, and that about half of the Bible is not for ustoday? Nonsense! That is not the Christ I am serving. His mercyendureth forever ! His t ru th endureth to all generat ions! 194 His Wordabideth forever. His Word is forever settled in Hea;en,195 The sun canno t scorch it. The frost cannot bite it. It is incorruptible seed. Thescoffers an d skeptics c an no t destroy it. Th ey may m ur mu r at it. T heanvil remains after the hammers are gone! The Holy Sp ir it cannotmagnify Christ by modifying His ministry. He makes Jesus ten thousand times more rea l in our lives. He is alive forever more.

Jesus said these signs would follow them that believe, and not to thefirst disciples only. He commanded them to heal the sick, cast ou t

devils, etc. He gave them a command to go into all the world and preachall the gospel. He said to teach all the people in all the wor ld to observea ll the gospel, to observe all the things He commanded them. 196

Did He say He would be with them through the ear ly church only?No, He said He would be with them always, even to the end of theworld (or the end of the age). He is the God who has no respect topersons. It is in the Great Commission.

I f healing is in the gospel, we have no right to withhold it from the

suffering, an d t he needy world. Let's take i t to the end o f the world!Bible History Proves Healing

All down t hr ou gh th e centuries, since the times of th e Apostles,there have been indiv iduals who have had fai th in God for hea ling ofth eir bodies, and where New Testament faith has been found NewTestament miracles have been wrought in the Name of Jesus Chr ist .

John Wesley, in his "Notes on the New Testament," says, "Having

anointed with oil- this single conspicuous gift which Christ committed

to His Apostles, Mark 6:13, remained in the church long after the

other miraculous gif ts were wi thdrawn. Indeed i t seems to have beendesigned always, and S1. James directs the elders, who were the most

if not the only gifted men, to administer it. This was the whole processof Physic in the Chr is tian Church, till i t was lost by unbelief . .. an dthe prayer offered in fai th shall save the sick f rom his sickness, an d if

sin be the occasion of the sickness, i t shall be forgiven him."

We have no record where the gifts have ever been withdrawn. I f the

church is still here what went with the gif ts? It takes the par ts of anything to make the whole. The whole is the sum of the parts, an d gifts

are part of the ch urch. People talk of His church, our church, your

churr-h; b ut Jesus has a church. He set gifts in His chu rch . Who took

them out? I f the g if ts a re in the church, an d the church is here, thenthe gif ts are here . 197

Search church history for yourself. There is undeniable proof. I f healing is not for people otherthan those in the early par t o f this church, whyd id God grant hea ling to every generation from Paul 's day until t hepresent day ? We have a record in every generation. Space will not permi t us to give them all.

D., Irenaeus, draws a comparison between heretics and t rue Chri st ians: "They (the heretics) cannei ther confer sight on the bl ind , nor hearing on the deaf, nor chaseaway all sorts of demons . . nor can they cure the weak, or the lame,or the paralytic; or those who are distressed in a!1y other part of thebody. dead man has re turned in answer to the praye rs of the saints ."In another place he tells us thi s: "Ot he rs again heal the sick by

laying their hands upon them and they are made whole. Yea, moreover, as I have said, the dead have been raised up, and remained amongus for many years ."

In the twelfth century thirty-six miraculous healings are reportedas having taken place under the ministry of Bernard of Clairvaux in onesingle day. He was a man who lived a holy life. Under his ministrythe halt, the blind, t he deaf, the dumb, and others were perfectly restored in answer to praye r in the Name of Jesus.

Records show that at least four hundred and twenty-nine miraclesof healing were performed as Thomas of Hereford prayed in the Nameof Jesus in the 13th century.

Augustine (354-430 A. D.), Bishop of Hippo, the great theologian,in his "City of God," says: "Concerning the miracles which were

Martin Luther (14831546 A.D.) was a man of simple faith in God.The sick were healed and demons were cast out i n the Name of Jesusthrough his ministry. His best friends were brought back from the deadthrough his prayers.

Observations Proves Healings

In these days, divine healing cannot be denied. Scientists andphysicians admit it as an established fact.

We mention some who have been used by the Lord in this GreatHealing Minis try in late years. Among them are Dr. Charles Cullis,Rev. A. B. Simpson, Dr. A. J. Gordon, Andrew Murray, John A.Dowie, Carrie Judd Montgomery, Mrs. El izabeth Mix, Dr. Will iamGentry, Dr. Charles S. Price, Aimee Semple McPherson, Dr. Yeomans.

There is no need to mention the hundreds who a re used today inthe Divine Healing Ministry. They have hundreds of statements fromour best physicians.

It is estimated that there are more than 10 million Pentecostal people throughout the world, not mentioning thousands of people in othergroups, who practice divine healing.

There is no variableness or shadow of turning with the Lord. Heis the same yesterday, today, and forever. We are living in the last dayswhile He is pouring out His Spirit on all flesh, showing signs and

wonders, just before the great and notable day of the Lord, just beforethe sun is t urned into darkness and the moon into blood. The signsand wonders points to the r eturn of our Lord. 20o

I BELIEVE IN WAITING UNTILDOCTORS FAIL

Not everyone says this with his mouth; b ut somehow folk h av eit in their mind. You ask me how I know. I know by their actions.Actions speak louder than words. I f you don't mind, I would like tohave a talk with you a bout it. That is exactly why you have not beenhealed.

Why Do You Say That?As I have told you, tradition makes the Word of God of none

e:fIect. That is w ha t J esus sa id. That is the reason some say this, bec ause it is an old family saying. You can't bla me th em too m uc h; f orthey have heard i t all the ir lives. It is a lmos t like law to them.

In fac t i t is an old proverb ; but not according to the Bible proverbs.It is qu it e n at ur al to hear people go around say ing, "God only helpsthose who help themselves. " But do you read t ha t i n the Bible? Sometimes you don't know how to help yourse lf . Many t imes the physiciancan make you worse.

Some reason tha t th eir case is too small to bothe r the Lord with.B ro the r, i t d oe sn 't b ot he r the L or d. You m ea n you j us t don't w ant tobothe r yourself to go to pra yer. You had r at he r d ri ft with th e tide.

You sa y that i s the reason doctors ar e put here. Maybe so. Theyare put here for people who don 't trust the Lord. I appreciate the rightkind of physicians. But the question is, "Why don't you trust theLord?"

Could i t b e that you are so interes ted in your affairs tha t you havenot been in contact wi th the Lord l ately? Could i t be that you ar e noton speaking terms wi th the Lord? Or it could be that you are lazy,half-hearted, an d unconcerned, and so sluggish that you don't wake upan d get in ea rne st. You know yo u m us t seek H im with all y ou r heartto get the answer. You can be drowsy and let the world roll by, an dneglect this great salvation.

If you since rely believe in w ait ing u ntil the doc tors fail, I a m n otf ind ing faul t with you. You will just miss a blessing. I a m trying tohelp you. That is your privilege if you wa nt to do tha t. However, youwill have to suffer for it, for i t will h inder your hea ling .

Is I t Scriptural?I wiiI admit that lhere a re many cases in the Bible where people

came to the Lord after everything else had failed, and received their healing. But is that the plan of the Lord in the first place? Did they all dothat? They would not have done that way-if they ha d gotten the excusesou t of the way.202

The Bible teaches just to the opposite; the Lord' s way is to heal

a ll tha t come unto Him. There was never a case, large or small, that Het ur ne d away. The Bible pla inly says th at H e healed all. That was t hesmall diseases, the inc ura ble , a nd all. He healed them without p art iali ty, and without respect to persons.

I will admit that more of the worst cases are recorded, and naturallyso. When you see a thousand healed and begin to relate the cases tosomeone, ~ r write a let te r to someone about them, do you tell about theheadaches most] y, or do you be gin to spea k a bou t t he incura ble , bedfast, the blind, or dumb being raised up, an d being made perfectlywhole?

But in spi te of that we see some simple cases recorded in the Bible.Look at Peter 's mother-in-law. She only ha d a fever. T he fever was rebuked. 203 She was well. They were not all incurable no r bedfast; for theyc ame to Jesus, a nd to the Apos tles, by the thousands . (N 0 one was-------------------------

turned away.} And some ha d to be brought to them.

God promises to heal aIL That means the incurables, or anyone else.He is still touched with ou r infirmities. He does not say, "The Lord- d e l i v e r e t ~them out of them i f they have been given up by the doctors."He says, "He delivereth them out of them ALL."204

Why do you say what the Bible does not? Look around you. There.are thousands who have not had a doctor in ten, twenty, an d thir tyyears. There are hundreds who have raised their children on the promises of God. They have never h ad medicine given them. They took"E ver yth in g to God in p ra ye r. " They took Him a t His Wo rd when He-said, " I f ye ask anything."205

As I have said, Jesus is coming after overcomers. Overcoming thelittle things gives you power to overcome the larger things.

Th ere is n ot a case t hat the promises do not cover, whether la rg e() f small. "He healeth all thy diseases." "He forgiveth all thy sins."

In the Beginning GodThe first pa rt of the first verse, of the first chapter, of the first

b oo k of the Bible tells us that God's place is in the beginning. Oh,what peace we often forfeit just because we don't pu t Him in the be-g in ni ng o f o ur d ay's work, o ur home, o ur schooling, o ur j ob , and o urwhole life.

When we p ut Him last we break a commandment. 206 That is nott reat ing Him fai r. I f you were a physician how would you feel ifsomeone would not use you until everyone else failed and sent youhome to die ? Yet Jesus is our great Physician. Give God a chancefirst.

Tur n your idea around. Seek God first. Then when God fails goto the doctor. Jesus never fails. He wants all t4e glory. His glory Hewill not give to another. You are His p ro pert y. He is jealous of you.

Seek God even befo re you get sick. He h as promised to keep youfrom sickness. That is the best. Some folk get down before they s tartto b ed a nd tell God to forgive all their sins they have committed. Itis better to start twelve hours before this and tell Him to keep youfrom sin all tha t day. "I n the beginning God."

It is better to seek God, even before we get sick, to prevent diseases.And yet you believe in waiting until you get incurable. You say wait untildoctors fail.

When Do the Doctprs Fail?I had an uncle who said th at he was going to live in the country

n ea r Malvern un til j us t bef ore he died, a nd t hen he would move backon his home place. He did not know when to move. Fo r just after sayingtha t he went to have a check-up. They put h im under dope. They didn' tknow what a serious condition he was in. He never knew anything else;for they sent him back a corpse.

With all due respect to our physicians, they do not tell you thet ru th many tiIpes a bo ut yo ur case. Sometimes they d on 't know an ybet ter. Sometimes they know bet ter. Sometimes they don 't tell a lie.But they very seldom tell you the t ru th . THEY MEAN GOOD BY IT.B ut t ha t do esn't keep you fr om bein g in ign or anc e a bo ut y ou r case.They want. to keep you cheered up, or keep you i n hopes. And soonyou a re unconscious. God does n ot get a chance. You a re expectingto seek God when you have been "given up;" but you are not atyourself. You wan t to wait until th e doctors f ai l; b ut so many timesthey will not admit failure.

Sometimes a few doctors will no t adm it failure as long as theyknow you still have money. Af ter the lady had spent all she had theysent he r home. They might n ot have sent h er home hopeless i f hermoney had not been all spent.

Friend, don't you see th at the devil ju st wants to keep you waiting ? Just anything to get you to p ut your healing off.

I HAVE SO MUCH TO GO THROUGHWITH

Many use this, but it i s no excuse to keep you from receiving.You may .have a hard time in your home, church, town, community,or otherwIse. You ,may have many persecut ions. But get that out ofyour mind. It is just a prop.

You Ar e Not the Only OneYou have no more persecutions than the people in the early church

did, and they received healing more than any of us. All Christians werepersecuted then. All of us are promised persecutions. There are others

who are going through things jus t as you are and worse. They receivethei r healing. These things dr ive people closer to the Lord so theywill pray more. The more they pray the more they are healed.

Everyone is tempted. But count it all joy. Give thanks for allthings. I f you murmur about i t you will get worse. I f you want to getwell delight thyself in the Lord. Proverbs says, "The tongue of thewise is health." Also we r ead in Proverbs 16:24, "P leasant wordsare as a honey comb, sweet to the soul, and heal th to the bones."

BLIND EYE, CANCER, INGROWING FINGERNAILS, SMELLING,STOMACH TROUBLE-The Lord healed me of a blind eye which ha d beentotally blind f o ~20 years. It was h eal ed while I wa s s it ti ng in the congregation.You were praymg for all of us at once. It was here in Bartlesville, Oklahoma,August, 1950. I went u p a nd had you to pray for other aff lict ions . A cancer on my~ w ~ c hhad b e e ~ther.e for several years was healed, an d it peeled off. I ha dmgrolfUlg , finger nail s which gave me much trouble for e ight months. God healedthem. I h ad n ot smelled anything lo r 12 years and my smelling was restored. Remember all these things are blessings in disguise. I f you willturn to excuse 37 and read, you will see that this excuse is closekin to it. Then this prop will also go down and you can " trus t alsoin Him and He will bring it to pass."
