Chapter ITHE TOUCH OF HIS HAND

When Jesus hears a heart cry, He is moved with com-passion. He is touched with the feeling of our infirmity. Heheals people not merely to prove Himself or to show Hispower, but He heals people because He is merciful and iscompassionate. A leper went directly to the Master, (Mark1 :41). We don't see where he contacted Peter or John anddepended upon them to do his praying, or spent all of histime giving in prayer requests to the disciples. He did some-thing personally about his case. It's all right to depend upongiving out prayer requests, but Idon't believe the leperstopped there. He didn't depend upon that alone. He usedwhat faith he had, and soon he found that he had more faith.

His deliverance was too important to depend upon theprayers of others alone or to stand back and say, "Pleasepray for me." Now he could have sent word to every disciplewithin many miles to please remember him in prayer. Thatwould be good, but not good enough. He knew that, so hedid his own praying and his own believing as Jesus came by.He came directly to Jesus and cried out, kneeling down,"If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean." Jesus was movedwith compassion, put forth His hand and touched him andsaid unto him, "I will. Be thou clean." The leprosy departedfrom him suddenly.

His TouchYou will never be the same again after you feel His touch.Jesus saw his earnest desire, his: motive and his humility.He cannot turn away that heart cry. It was not mechanical.It came directly from his soul and his heart as a baby wouldcry to his mother.A mother can listen to her babies. She knows by theircry when they are sincere, when they are stubborn, whenthey are suffering, when they need attention or when theyare hungry. Jesus can listen to your cry and tell when you

re in earnest, when you are stubborn or whether you arest praying with your lips. Some worship God with theirps and their hearts are far from Him.A lady told me, "I know a preacher who can lay handsn you and give you the gifts. Oh, this is a wonderfulreacher. I said, "I know a man who can lay hands on yound change your whole life. He is near you now. His nameJesus. Without His touch the preacher's touch would note of much benefit to you."A minister can bring you where He is and point you toim, then you must pray directly to Him, get acquaintedith Jesus and receive a touch from His hand.

He Will Baptize YouJesus did not actually baptize in water with His ownands. He had His disciples do that. He was Master. Johnaptized in water, but Jesus baptized with the Holy Ghostnd fire. Some people think that the preacher can baptizeem with the Holy Ghost. The preacher can do as John,oint you to the One who can baptize. You need His touch.esus is the only one who can administer this Baptism ofhe Holy Ghost.My mother was lying at home in a shuck bed, in a logabin, at the end of the road about midnight one night. Sheeally believed in divine healing, but she did not practice it.apa did not believe in backsliding but he practiced itMama had never heard anyone preach about the Holyhost. As she was quietly praying, lying there in the bed,uddenly she received a touch from the hand of the Master.esus baptized her with the Holy Ghost. She jumped out ofhat shuck bed and danced all over the plank floor, aroundhe fireplace, where we had a pine-knot fire. Papa thoughthe had a fit and rubbed Raleigh's linament all over her.he had personally contacted the Baptizer herself. She hadot depended upon any man.You can tell one thousand people to pray for you to re-eive the Holy Ghost. They can pray for you for years. Ifou depend upon them alone and never contact Jesus for

yourself, you will never receive the Baptism of the HolyGhost.You and I can wade out into water up to our neck. We

feel the same cold chills running up and down our spine. Wefeel the same sensation, but we are not baptized. You canput yourself under the water but still you are not baptized.You are not really baptized until the preacher puts youunder the water. You must yield to him and let him do it.

Jesus Is BaptizerYou and I may both be saved; we are both happy, filled

with the same Holy Spirit and have the same experience.You can try to baptize yourself with the Holy Spirit foryears, but still you are not baptized. A preacher can put hishands on your head and work your chin, still you are notbaptized. If you obey the Baptizer and yield to Him thenHe will personally baptize you in the IIoly Ghost. It takesHis personal touch.The Lord gives the Holy Ghost to them that obey Him,

(Acts 5:32). You have a right as His child to go directlyto Him and receive a personal touch.Once a man was sent home from the battlefield and put

into a ward. They expected him to die. No one was allowedto see him except the nurse and the doctor. His sight wasgone. Most of the time he was alone. His mother kept re-questing to go in to see her son, but they refused her."You won't know him," the doctor said to the compas-

sionate mother, "But since he is not going to live anyway,you may slip in very silently and quietly for a few minutes."The mother quietly slipped behind her son and put her

hands upon his forehead."Mother", cried the young man, and he lived!There is no human touch like the touch of a mother.The touch of the Master is a cure for all of your ailments.

As the old violinist, you are different when the Maker givesyou a slight touch of His hand.You have the right as His child to go to Him for a per-

sonal touch. He is near your side now. As we bring youwhere the power of God is present to heal, you must cry out

o Him, rebuke your own disease, reach out, and receive aersonal touch from Him. He will not turn you away.Most people preach to sinners. "He that corr.eth unto Him,e will in no wise cast out." Why don't they preach theme thing to the poor sick people. Tell the sick people, "Hehat cometh unto Him, He will in no wise cast out." Jesusill never turn a sick person away. The woman with thessue of blood cried out, "If I can but touch the hem of Hisarment, I shall be made whole." And the Bible said thats many as He touched were made whole. I was talking to aady the other day, and she said, "I got a touch, but I didn'teceive my healing." She did not realize that she was disput-ng the Word of God that says as many as He touched werede whole.

The Blind Receive SightIn Africa we taught the people that the power of Godas present to heal, that Jesus was right by their side toive them a personal touch.As I prayed a mass prayer, I told the people that theyere in a healing line right then; that everyone of them wast the front of the line where Jesus was present to heal;hat they must expect His touch for He was with them thennd there. As I prayed one prayer that afternoon, about twohousand people testified that they were healed by the powerf God. They all rushed forward at once to tell what Godad done for them. They were not bound by Pentecostalraditions so they believed what I had said to them.I looked and saw one man on crutches. If you are healedhat are you doing here with those crutches? Oh, he said,I only have one leg. I have been totally blind in both eyesor nineteen years. Now I can see clearly." He had receivedtouch from the hand of the Healer in the audience. Aboutenty-seven more blind people were healed. And everyonef them were at the front of the line where the Healer wasresent to touch them.

Our High PriestOur high priest can be touched with the feeling of ourfirmity. I've seen people who will never ask God to forgive

their sins. They depend upon a priest to contact the Lord forthem and to pray their sins away. I would not want to riskthat when I can be sure and touch the Lord for all my needs.A minister can help you to contact the Saviour, but youneed to make a personal contact and get a touch from theMaster's hand and receive a know-so salvation.While some folks criticize men for paying the priest to

pray their sins away, these same people come to a ministerand want him to do it all, because they have never tried toreceive a personal experience with Jesus.Don't depend upon the preacher to do it all, for you will

never make any connection with the Lord and ask Him toheal you. You need to have a personal contact and a per-sonal touch. You need a "know-so healing". You need tomake a personal audience with Him. When you were a childyou didn't expect someone else to contact your mother allthe time for you. You wanted a personal touch.You are God'schild, and He will hear you now, and you can go direct andreceive a touch from the hand of the Healer. Let nothingbudge you from your stand on the promises of God andyour prayer will be answered to the fullest extent, for theLord will say to you, "Go thy way, and as thou hast believedso be it done unto thee," (Matthew 8:13).

You Can Pray TooGideon expected a personal contact with God. He was not

satisfied to march against the enemy with only a doctrinehe learned at school. He said, "If I am a man of valour,where are all the miracles that the Lord is supposed towork?"Moses first started out with his doctrine that they were

the chosen people. Forty years later he made a personalcontact with the Lord, used his own faith and led God'speople to deliverance. Jesus said, "Everyone that askethreceiveth," (Matthew 7 :8). He emphasizes that fact sixtimes so that you would clearly understand that he wantsyou to feel free to ask for whatever you need. He says, "Askand it shall be given unto you. Seek and you shall find.Knock and it shall be opened unto you, for everyone that

sketh receiveth. And he that seeketh findeth, and to himat knocketh it shall be opened." All through the Bible fromlid to lid God seeks to impress everyone of His children thatwe all have equal rights. He respects none above others. Heas no favorites. He expects each one of us to have faithnd to do his own asking.At the time of this writing, I am over Washington, D. C.n a worn out DC-6 plane circling the airfield several times.t looks like they are going to be forced to slide into the fieldithout getting the landing gears down. It has been rubbingnd growling now for about thirty minutes!We are in the middle of an electrical storm. There is wind,

ain, lightning and thunder! We are rocking to and fro! Theassengers are frightened! The man beside me says that heas flown for many years. He has flown around the worldnd this is the worst he has ever seen. 'I am not depending upon requesting other people to prayor me. I am using my own faith! It is wonderful if theyray, but I must contact God and be sure! It's too imj.ortantor me to just rely upon others. I am using my own faith.We have been circling about thirty minutes. Now we areradually going down! Oh, this is a rough landing, but. nowe are safe on the ground! Thank God for the privilege ofontacting Him direct and using my own faith and beingure. I would have been afraid if I had just been dependingpon the faith of other people.Are you going through the storm? Are you afraid thatou are not going to make a safe landing '? Have you beenoing in circles? Is your plane rocking to and fro'? I willray with you if you will do some praying. I will add myaith to your faith. You must pray also and use your ownaith. One can chase a thousand, but two can put ten thous-to flight, and if any two people on earth shall agree asouching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done.

You Talk to GodTalk directly to the Lord as you would go to your earthly

ather. Not long ago two men came to my meeting. They didot have time to wait for the service, but they wanted to

have a personal interview with me. While talking I dis-covered that they were completely carnal. "Are you aChristian?" I asked."I've been baptized several years ago," one replied."I want you to stay for the service so that you will be

where the power of God is present to heal," I explained."Oh, we don't have time to do that. We must be on our

way. We want our healing now," he said.Soon I looked and saw them pull out a couple of cigars as

they stepped into their car and quickly drove away. Theywere strang-ers to Jesus. They did not know what it was allabout. They would have gone to a witch or a wizard just asquickly as they would have come to me.A II I am here for is to bring you into direct connectionwith the Healer. I must decrease. He must increase. Areyou willing to be introduced to the Master? Go into Hi=presence; let Him examine you, question you, x-ray youfrom head to foot, turn the spot light into every crevice ofyour heart, diagnose your case, and give you the personaltouch now. Here He is! Take Him by the hand. He is ready.Are you ready? Everyone that asketh receiveth.

Direct ConnectionsMr. Naaman has been severely criticized by many clergy-

men, because he thought Elisha would put' hands upon hishead and heal him. But many people today are bound bytradition in nearly the same way.Naaman has been accused of being stubborn, proud andhaughty. Let's not make it too hard on this man. His real

trouble was - the basic trouble - that he did not knowthat he should make a personal contact with the Lord. Hewas ignorant of God's power and God's way.No doubt, he had to depend upon a priest to pray his sins

away for him. Since he had paid a man to do his prayingfor his soul, could he not also pay Elisha to pray for hisbodily healing?Notice, Elisha did not criticize this captain, but he dis-

cerned that Namaan needed a personal relationship with theLord if he received supernatural healing. Even if it had

give her the Bible. I asked her to read Exodus 15 :26. Asshe read this verse, she made the contact with the Healerand was healed instantly without my praying for her.Jesus said, "Him that cometh to me, Iwill in no wise castout." John 6 :37. That means you, suffering one. Christ issaying, "Him that cometh unto me for any need, whateverit may be Iwill not refuse you." Most people use that verseto preach salvation to sinners, but that also rneam peoplewho need healing for their bodies. Jesus said, "If you abidein me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what youwill and it shall be done unto you," (John 15 :7). Jesus said,"What things soever YE desire, when YE pray, believe that

YE receive them and YE shall have them," (Mark 11 :24).Paul said, "If THOU shalt confess with THY mouth theLord Jesus and shall believe in THINE heart that God hathraised HIM from the dead, THOU shalt be saved," (Romans10:9). We see all through the Scriptures that it dependslargely upon the individual. That does not mean an individ-ual can just :::it there like a stump and expect to be savedwithout co-operating. Well, the same way you co-operate,believe, and do your praying, your believing and your re-ceiving when you are saved, you receive healing the sameway.

We must not teach people to come to us for healing forheir body as they would come to the priest for the forgive-ess of sins. We must teach them they must co-operate andake a direct connection. They must contact the Healer. Weeed ministers who can discern the people and seek God forword of wisdom how to lead them, these suffering ones,nto a direct connection with the Deliverer, as Elisha wased by the Spirit to break down the natural, carnal natureNamaan.It is not fair to the sick and suffering to merely strikeur hands upon their head and tell them to receive his heal-ng and let him leave out of our meetings without a personalontact with the hand of the Healer. He must be taught tose his faith also.

Brother GarrettBrother Garrett was a wicked bootlegger who came to mer help. He had whipped his wife and lived under dope. Chapter TwoPERSONAL CONTACT

The music ceased, and the auctioneer,With a voice that was quiet and low,Said: "What am I bid for the old violin?"And he held it up with the bow."A thousand dollars-and who'll make it two?Two thousand-and who'll make it three?Three thousand once, and three thousand twice-And going and gone! said he.The people cheered, but some of them cried,"We do not quite understand-What changed its worth?" The man replied:"The touch of the master's hand!"And many a man with life out of tune,And battered and torn with sin,Is auctioned cheap to a thoughtless crowd,Much like the old violin.

"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,"(Phil. 2:12).There are two kinds of fear; one is from God and theother from the enemy. Perfect Love casteth out fear. Thatmeans the wrong kind of fear. Speaking of the right kindof fear, the Lord says our whole duty is to fear God andkeep His commandments.Salvation has two aspects, soul and body. Man fell, souland body. Jesus came to redeem us both soul and body. Sinceour inheritance will be for both soul and body then theearnest of our inheritance is both physical and spiritual.Jesus came not only to save our soul but He came to saveour lives, (Luke 9 :56).

How I Was Saved

People were all around me praying, they were in earnest.Iwas listening to their prayers, expecting them to pray methrough."Do you feel better" '! someone asked."I believe that I do," I said . ."Then you are saved, believe it," they told me."I believe there is more tc it than this," I said as I kneltback by the bench.There I wanted to settle i~.Iwanted a "know-so salva-tion." I would not be denied. I cried out to Jesus personally.Idid some praying and believing and receiving. Ibecame inearnest-made some vows to Jesus. Then Ireceived a per-sonal contact. Icame up with a reality. Itwas because Ididnot depend on my friends to do everything, but Icooperatedwith them.

A "mess of pottage," a glass of wine,A game--and he travels on.He's going once, and going twice,He's going-and almost gone!But the Master comes, and the foolish crowdNever can quite understandThe worth of a soul and the change that's wroughtBy the touch of the Master's hand.

How I Was HealedMy friends prayed for me; that was good but not goodenough. I wanted to be sure. Then I became in earnest; Iturned to Exodus 15 :26.

I learned I must make a covenant with the Lord. I sawhat THOU meant me and not my friends. God says, "Ifhou will diligently harken unto the voice of the Lord thyod and do that which is right in His sight; and will givear to His commandments, and keep all of His statutes, Iill put none of these diseases upon thee, which I haverought upon the Egyptians; for Iam the Lord that healethhee," (Exodus 15 :26).He was talking to me. He said He would heal me. I madehe deal directly with Him. I refused to deal through ah ird party.You can do the same; we can bring you into His presence,ou do some praying, make some promises, tell Him youill use the health He gives you for His glory, that you willive your body to Him as a living sacrifice. If you lend yourar to someone, he would not overhaul it. If you give yourar to him to keep for good, he will fix it up, overhaul it andeep it in good running condition.If you just lend yourself to the Lord on Sundays, He isot interested in overhauling your body, for it to be usedst as you please all through the week.You must make that decieion ; you must make the dealersonally with the Healer. No One else can make thatecision for you.

you would tell them that they could pray at one time, believeat one time and receive at one time. Each of them couldbelieve at one time. You would tell them "He that comethunto Him, I will in no wise cast out." (John 6 :37).Come to Him

Just as you would come to Him for salvation, you wouldcome to Him for healing, for healing is part of salvation. Ifyou will come to Him for healing, He will in no wise castyou out. He is saying now, "Come unto me all ye that laborand are heavy laden and I will give you rest, (Matt. 11 :28).That means you; come to Him. That is what He wants youto do instead of depending on others to come to Him in yourplace.

Age of AccountabilityBeing baptized into the church when you were a babydoes not make you foolproof for Heaven. That is a goodway to fill the church with unregenerated people.When you come to a certain age, the Lord expects you tocontact your Saviour. You can also contact the Healer andbe healed. Jesus is the Saviour and Healer. You must usethe faith that He has given unto you. Don't depend on othersto tend to the healing of your soul. Don't depend on othersto tend to the healing of your body. They can help you comeinto the presence of the Saviour and Healer. You make thetransaction with Him alone.

Marriage CeremonyIt is as important as a marriage ceremony. Ihelped ayoung lady one time. Iintroduced her to a fine gentleman.Iarranged their first date. Iwished them well, but it wasnot my place to do the proposing, make their marriage vowsand be married. After they were introduced they were ontheir own. Icould help them but Icould not do it for them.They went ahead and personally did the rest.I asked someone the other day if he was saved. He said,"I am trying to be." If I asked if you were married andyou said, "I am trying to be," I wouldn't think you weremarried.

The Brazen SerpentEveryone who looked at the brazen serpent was healed.ach one was required to do their own looking and their owneceiving. The brazen serpent represents Jesus, (John 3:14).ach one who looks directly to Jesus may be healed.Those who were healed did not spend their time handingprayer requests, or letting someone else do all their look-g. They personally looked.It is the same way today. We can point you to the Healer,troduce you to Him; but your part is to make the con-You can imagine Moses telling the people they could nothealed because his strength was gone, that they mustme back tomorrow night and be healed one at a time. Being saved or healed is a personal affair with you ande Lord. I can bring you into His presence, then you aren your own, you make the vow and the transaction. Don'tepend on me to do it all for you.

Personal MessageGod's personal message to you is this-"How shall wescape if we neglect this great salvation?" (Heb. 2:3). Thisreat salvation is signs, wonders and gifts of the Holy Ghost.t is signs following, which is healing as well as forgivenesssins. If you depend on me to do it all; to do all your pray-g, then you are neglecting this great salvation just as youould depend on another to do your confessing Jesus as youraviour. You must hold fast the confession of your faith."If you abide in me and My Words abide in you; ye shallsk what you will and it shall be done unto you," (John5:7). Notice the times He says Ye; that means you. He islking directly to you. Make that transaction personallyith Him.If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed nothing shalle impossible unto you. Y-O-U means you, personally.Therefore I say unto you what things soever you desirehen ye pray believe that you receive them and you shallave them! YE means you. You can go into that transactionersonally with the Lord.

I Can Do ThatI have read that signs will follow the believers. I havead that for many years, (Mark 16: 17). I believed it as aoctrine; I have preached it. One day it became more thandoctrine.As I went to hear a man preach, I was surprised to seeat signs were actually following his ministry. The blindceived sight, the deaf heard, devils were cast out. Sud-enly the Spirit said, "YOU can do that."I went home, shut myself in a room and did not eat a biter seven days. On the seventh day the Lord spoke theseords directly to me, "In my name you shall cast out devils ~ou shall lay hands upon the sick and they shall recover."

I had received a personal contact with Jesus. It was nolonger a mere doctrine with me. I received a personalconnection.A school teacher was in our tent meeting; she saw the

blind, deaf and the lame healed. She said, "I can do that."She went back to her school and started a healing serviceeach morning for all the children that were sick and afflicted.She realized that Mark 16:16-17 was for every believer. Itwas not a doctrine only, but for everyone of God's children.

Your HealingThat illustrated how you may receive healing for your\

body. Realize that healing is not merely a doctrine but it isthe children's bread. You expect each one of your childrenpersonally for his breakfast.When God says, "Ask and ye shall receive," He does not

mean that you should slip around and get someone else to doyour asking. God is no respecter of persons. Any of Hischildren may come boldly to Him and do their own asking.They can pray and God will answer their prayers. I can praywith you and agree with you, but my faith without yourswill not get the job done. Put your faith to work with mine.What do you say? Are you ready? Begin to do as David didin Psalms 103 :1-3. You can say what he said and get thesame results.

You Can KnowThe following story is handed down over the years. Thedeath angel was to come over the land and destroy the first-

born in each home.In one home the oldest child became uneasy. He turned

to his father and said, "Is the blood on the doorpost?""Yes, answered the father. "Go to sleep and don't worry;

all is safe."One hour later, the oldest son hadn't slept. He turned

from one side of the bed to the other. He asked his fatheronce again, if he were sure the blood was over the doorpost.The father assured his son that all was well, that the blood

had been put over the doorpost.15

The Lord had told them that the death angel would passrough the land at midnight. The oldest child would diethe blood was not over the doorpost of their dwelling,

Exod. 12).The son kept asking from hour to hour until a few min-tes before midnight, the time the death angel was to passer. He asked, "Are you sure father?""Yes, I instructed the servant to have it done," answerede sincere man.Three minutes before midnight the son grew anxious. "Iant to see for myself," he said. In great alarm, he arosed climbed up and examined the door post for himself. But,as, the blood was not there!Quickly they ran out where the lamb had been killed. Heought the blood and put it over the doorpost just in timesave his life! The death angel passed over.

You can't have Pentecost without the Pentecost exper-ience. Pentecost is an experience and not a doctrine. Believ-ing in healing as a doctrine is not enough. Believe with allof your heart. Contact the Healer, get a "know-so exper-ience." Contact Him right now on the grounds of the atone-ment-all other ground is sinking sand.

More Than a Doctrine

Christ is our passover that was sacrificed for us, (I Cor.7). You don't want to trust someone else for your salva-on. You want to be sure the blood is over the doorpost ofour heart. You don't want to trust someone else for yourIt is too important not to be sure. You must per-nally contact the Lord and know that you are saved. Ifu fail to do this then Jesus has died in vain as far as yourlvation is concerned.The same atonement purchased healing for your bodysaiah 53, Matt. 8: 17). Don't depend on someone else toall of your praying and believing for your healing. Youn personally claim this atonement for your physical de-It is too important to trust in the hands of some-e else altogether without your cooperation, your knowingd your praying.

A high official in a full gospel denomination decided hewanted to make a lot of money and have a great ministry.He resigned his office and bought a large tent. But he hadnot received a personal word from the Lord to do this. Hewas soon in debt so much that he could not see daylight.Finally he sold his tent and equipment and said, "I am nota big enough liar to have a tent." Unfortunately he wassoured on everybody. He learned that a doctrine alone wasnot enough. He needed a personal contact and a personalministry.You can study how to farm in a book; a farm boy who

never studied farming from a book can beat you farming.You can study Moody's methods, Wesley's ways and Fin-ney's forms, but you may not have their experience. Youcan go to Bible school and study how other people did it butwithout the Spirit of God to lead you will make a failure.The sons of Sceva said, "We adjure by Jesus whom Paul

preaches" (Acts 19:13). But they failed to cast the devilsout. The devils cast them out.In Africa a priest wanted to keep his congregation; so hedecided to have some healing services. The people came to

the first healing service. Everything went well until thenatives brought to this priest, a devil possessed woman. Hesaid, "In the name of Jesus, come out!"That was what the evangelist had been saying, but it did

not work with the priest. The devils talked back throughthe woman and said, "You, You cast me out". The womanjumped on him and began to choke him; that was the lastof his healing service.A committee came a long distance, they were sent by a

certain denomination for an interview with me in a tent

It is because other folks are depend-ng on their contact with their Baptizer while our owneople are depending on the name by which we go.Thousands of outsiders receive healing the first trip theyome to a meeting while many of our folks with the Pente-ostal doctrine fail to personally contact the Healer.

Hear Ye HimIf you want salvation; if you want divine healing; if youant the Holy Ghost, learn this: It is all right to know theoctrine; but you must contact the Saviour if you wantalvation; the Baptizer if you want the Baptism; the Healerf you want healing; and the Giver if you want the gifts.ou need more than a head faith. With the heart man be-ieveth unto righteousness. He has said, "Come unto Me".oing to someone else is not enough.On the mount of transfiguration, Peter wanted to buildhree tabernacles, one to Moses, one to Elijah and one toesus. He wanted three denominations. Moses' doctrineould be preached in one, Elijah's doctrine would be preach-d in another, and Jesus' doctrine would be preached in one.ut a voice spoke from heaven and said, "Hear ye Him".If you will hear Him, faith comes by hearing. Then youill never be the same, for He sends His Word and heals.

A Mechanical ReligionSome people try to lead a sinner to the Lord in a veryarnal way. They say, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

and you shalt be saved". But many of their converts onlybelieve with their mind, with no personal contact with Jesus.All of us are against that kind of mechanical salvation.It is with the heart that man believeth unto righteousnessand not OUt mind only, (Romans 10:10). When we seek theLord with all of our heart He will be found.Some people expect us to run them through the healing

line, put their names on a card, pat them on the head, pro-nounce them healed without their seeking the Lord withtheir heart. They should do like blind Bartimaus, cry out tothe Lord personally and say, "Jesus, thou son of David, havemercy upon me." Jesus will heal you but remember faithworks through your soul and not your mind only, Ps. 103:1-3).

TempestWhen the disciples cried out directly to Jesus, they did

not merely hand in a prayer request, they received a personalanswer through their personal prayer.I am now in Canton, Ohio; on this trip a motor took out

on the jet plane. The pilot wrestled with that heavy planeup there in the midst of the winds, ice and storms. Itwav-ered up and dcwn, to and fro! The children were afraid andbegan to cry. They did not cry to someone else; they crieddirectly to their mother.I did not waste time handing in prayer requests to the

other passengers, I cried directly unto my Lord, whom Ipersonally kne~ until I received the assurance and felt thatI had the answer, "Peace Be Still". Then there was a greatcalm in my spirit, then nothing could cause us to fall. Aswe neared the ground, it was announced over the loud-speaker for us to keep our seat belts fastened until wereached the ramp.But, alas, we were not headed for the ramp at all, but to

the edge of the field, where we were met by thirteen firetrucks, ambulances and patrolmen. They had many otherunits standing by on the alert.Finally we were pronounced out of danger; and the planewas permitted to taxi up to the ramp.

Are you in a tempest? Are you wrestling against thestorm? Prayer requests are good but not good enough with-t your cooperation.Are you asking yourself, "Will I have a safe landing"?

Give in a prayer request if you want to, but also pray aersonal prayer. I can open the prison d001'Sbut you mustalk out. I bring you a pardon but it is your part to acceptt. I can bring you to the Master but you must cry out,VE ME OR I WILL PERISH!" IIe is a present help ini~e of need: seek Him while He may be found; call uponim while He is near.

Bind and LooseYou are what your believing is or you are what you say,

(Mark 11 :23). You must say you are what God says youThe Lord says whatsoever ye bind on earth shall be boundn Heaven. The Lord says if you agree with me as touchingnything it shall be done, (Matt. 18:19).He says if you are a believer signs shall follow you, (Mark

16:17). Isaiah 53:5 means YOU. With His stripes you areealed. You! He is speaking directly to YOU. Luke 10: 19ays Jesus has given to YOU power over all the power ofhe devil. Nothing shall by any means hurt YOU. Take whate has already given to you. Luke 11 :13 means YOU. Itays if you ask you shall receive.If you say what God says, you will say, "I have power toind and loose". You can bind your own disease if youelieve me and agree with me.One day a sinner saw his friend dying in a foxhole. Hean to him and said, "I am not saved, but my mother tolde how to be saved. So I will tell you." He opened a Newestament that his mother had given him and read a versehich she had marked. It was John 3 :16. This dying man,n the foxhole, read this verse. Finally he looked up and"It works, I am ready to go". He went on to meet hisord; he personally made the connection.Now neighbor, here is another verse that works. Gotrictly according to it and it will not fail. Keep your side

of the contract and God will keep His side. Memorize Exo-dus 15:26 and quote it every day and you will find that itworks.

Jacob's ExperienceJacob knew that he was the son of promise. He tried at

first to get this blessing without having a personal rela-tionship with the Blesser. This resulted in heartaches anddisappointments. He depended on who his father was andthis brought no peace to his troubled soul. His consciencesmote him; he tried to use carnal methods to get the bless-ing. This brought him plenty of misery and heartache, itbrought him trouble with his brother and his father-in-law.What was his failure? It was not in his lack of zeal,knowledge, talent, skill, methods, wit, energy, courage, fi-nance or physical strength. He had plenty of all these. Hisfailure was that he had tried to secure the blessing withoutthe contact personally with the Blesser.Then came the all night prayer, the intercession. the

wrestling, the personal conversation with heaven. He wasleft alone; the night was dark and long. He became in ear-nest; he confessed His name. He prevailed in prayer; hebecame a prince with God.After he quit depending on Abraham and Isaac, he made

a covenant personally with God. He knew in whom he hadbelieved. That is a lesson to us. You can quit dependingonly on contacts with others; make your own point ofcontact with the Master; then you can say with the greatinspired writer, "I know whom I have believed, and ampersuaded that He is able to keep that which I have com-mitted unto Him", (2 Tim. 1:12). Then you can commit yourbody to the person who is able to keep it instead of beingsatisfied by stopping at a medium.

Direct RevelationNow when you receive a direct revelation, you will have

faith. When you tarry in prayer long enough, reading Exo-dus 15:26, you will not have any doubts.Jesus asked, "Whom do men say that I, the Son of man

m?" And they said, "Some say thou art John the Baptist;ome Elias; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets."e saith unto them, "But whom say ye that I am?" Simoneter answered and said, "Thou art the Christ the Son ofe Living God". Jesus answered and said, "Blessed art thou,imon Barjona; for flesh and blood hath not revealed it toee, but my Father which is in Heaven," (Matt. 16:13-17).No wonder that Peter could cast out devils, raise the dead,eal the sick and walk on the water; he had received a directvelation of the Spirit; he had living faith! He did notepend on a man as a medium; he went directly to the mainitch. He did not depend on a doctrine, a creed or a tradi-on; he knew in his heart!That is the way to salvation, that is the way to the Holypirit Batpism, that is the way to receive divine healing.on't depend on a flesh and blood revelation altogether.Last night a lady came to me and said, "Brother Grant,ey want me to get the Holy Ghost, but I am a Nazarenend I can't see it.""Don't come until you first see it," I said. She must re-eive a direct revelation in her soul; then she will haveith to receive the Holy Ghost.I ate with a Baptist preacher this week, who pastors aaptist church. He began to ask me about the baptism ofe Holy Ghost. Itold him not to seek the Baptism of theoly Ghost until he was fully convinced that this experienceas for him. Ipreached to him about an hour and a half.e saw the point; last night he came with about one hun-red and fifty more seeking the Holy Ghost. He was baptizedith the Holy Ghost. He went away really happy.

Flesh and BloodDon't depend on flesh and blood altogether; don't dependn the revelation that your mother received, or your father'snomination. Don't trust the experience of Wesley, Finney,oody or Luther; go directly to Jesus; the Holy Spirit willake Him known to you.Flesh and blood won't quicken your faith for healing. We

point you to the Master. Don't depend on healing cards,prayer lines, or someone's experience.Memorize Matt. 8: 16-17; quote it until it gets into your

heart. His Words are Spirit and they are Life. They arequick and powerful going to the joints and marrow. HisWord runs very swiftly; it will not return to Him void. Itis forever settled in Heaven; it must be fulfilled. Many arethe afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth HIMout of them all. Psa. 34: 19.

Gifts and OperationA sincere woman came to me and said, "A woman pro-

phesied over me and told me that Iwas called to a certaincity to preach." I told her unless God spoke to her and sheknew the voice of God, that woman would have to go all theway with her, and tell her what to do after she zot there.Prophecy is to confirm what God has already told you. In

Acts 13:2 we see where the Holy Spirit says, "Separate meBarnabas and Saul for the work where unto I have calledthem." The Lord had already told them about it. Now thegifts of healing work in a similar way. I can say unto you,"Receive your Healing." But it is up to you to have yourreceiving set in tune and receive. Ido my part, God doesHis part, but your part is to receive. Establish a point ofcontact , a Spiritual connection and take what God hasalready given to you. Ifyou receive a Spiritual healing, youmust Hot be a stranger to the Spirit. When your wife be-comes sick, she cannot depend one hundred per cent on you..You can pray but she must cooperate and do some praying,too. Itworks if you both agree as touching the Lord on thisthing, (Matt. 18:19).One time Jesus said to a man that had been healed, "Go

sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you." That is thesame thing as saying "You must have a personal connectionto retain your healing after you obtain it".

Covet EarnestlyToday I went into the World Publishing Co. in Cleveland,

Ohio to get a load of Bibles, which I seriously needed.22 23

As you know this is one of the largest publishing com-anies in our day. Itis extremely departmentalized.Mr. M., the receptionist, introduced himself to me. Aftereceiving my request for the Bibles, he told me the plantas closed down on vacation. It would be impossible for meo purchase the Bibles.I stood and looked at him, wondering what to do, I toldim that I had come a long way; it was very necessaryhat I take the Bibles back with me. He did some morexplaining. After I ran out of words I just stood and waited.requested to see the sales manager.Mr. M. left and finally returned with Mrs. L. who tolde that the plant was on vacation, inventory was beingken, that it would be impossible for me to get the Bibles.urthermore she said they would not have over a half aozen of that kind of Bible anyway. Still I sat down andaited to see the main man. Finally she left and I keptaiting; I felt in my spirit that this rule could be set aside.After some time she returned and brought me to the salesanager, Mr. DeeTer, who was a very nice man, but heold me the same story.I told him he could set aside these rules and let me have

he Bibles, which would save taking the inventory on them.e said that it was not that easy, that if they had anymoreibles they would be under the other stock.I waited to see the main man, he said he would not beack until that afternoon. I told him that I had come a longay, that I did not mean to go back empty. I told them Iould go and have lunch and be back in an hour. When Ieturned Mr. DeeTer took me to the secretary of the mainan. She left the office and stayed about an hour. I sat downnd kept waiting.Finally some more people were sent to talk to me. Theyecided to take me into the presence of the main man, Mr.harpee. He was a nice man; he asked me many questionsbout the work in Africa and other nations. I spent aboutn hour answering his questions. Suddenly, he turned andaid, "Load the Bibles on the car, as many as he wants." Iame away with a load of Bibles.

The Main ManI could have handed my request in to the receptionist and

left. I could have gotten in a hurry and missed my Bibles.But I had a feeling that I would haul away these muchneeded Bibles.Neighbor, for many years you have handed your prayer

request in to someone else and hurried away because youwere busy with something else, not realizing, that you cango to the main man. Since you are one of His children youcan go directly into the presence of the Lord with yourrequests. He will not deny you. "Let us therefore comeboldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy,and find grace to help in time of need," (Heb. 4: 16).Keep on giving in your prayer requests, but don't stop

with that. We will agree with you; if two of us shall agreeon earth as touching anything that we shall ask it shall bedone, (Matt. 18: 19). Who is it that does this for us? TheBible says that it is the Father. I am going to be honestwith you. I am going to carry .you directly to the Father.We will TOUCH, or come in contact with, what we need. Iam not going to tell you that the company is closeddown, that they are on vacation, that you must wait untilafter inventory. I am going to tell you that everything isready for you now! You can come in and load up.There is one way that you can go directly to the Father;

that is in Jesus' name. Say, "Heavenly Father, in the Nameof Jesus Christ, I come to you. I ask you to let your divinevirtue and your divine nature go through me now and healall my diseases. I present my body to you as a living sacri-fice. I am not my own any more. I promise to use mystrength and health for your glory, in your service. I'll con-sider my body as a temple of the Holy Ghost from thismoment forward."Then you can come direct and look personally to thedevil. Say, "Devil I rebuke you in Jesus' Name, you demonsof infirmity, I come against you, not in my own name, butin the Name of Jesus, on the ground of the atonement,through the crucifixion. I command you demons of infirmity

take your hands off this temple of the Holy Ghost. Comeut in Jesus' Name! I command you right now, COMEThen turn directly to the Father and personally quotesalms 103 :1-3, and keep quoting this verse; memorize itd quote it every day. Remember that man does not livebread alone but by every word that proceedeth out ofe mouth of God.

Final InstructionsHere is a message from my heart to your heart. If youever find an occasion to come into a healing service forhealing, or if you bring any of your friends to receive heal-ing in our revivals, do the following things -1. Be sure your sins are forgiven and you are in connec-tion with the Lord, if you are seeking healing for your body.2. Please don't sit there with your eyes open lookingaround at other people. That is one of the most discouragingthings to an evangelist who is trying to help you.3. Close your eyes and begin talking to the Lord. Searchyour heart and see if you have anything between you andthe Lord, or between you and your fellowman.4. Keep praying until you feel the Spirit of God comeupon YOLl before you are prayed for. Don't be surprised ifI pass you up without laying hands on you the first nightor two. The Lord will show me when to lay hands on YOLl.lt will do some good then.5. If the Spirit of God does not come upon you there is abad connection somewhere. It may be pride. I want you toread two books, "How to Enter the Presence of God" and"How to Seek the Lord". I will loan you these two books ifyou had rather not buy them.6. Remember this: J LIst because I do not lay hands on youdoes not mean I have not prayed for you. Don't say thatyou were not prayed for. That will not be the truth.7. Remember I pray for every sick person under thesound of my voice, as God moves on me to do so. Jesus is byyour side. I expect everyone of you to be healed for youare where the power of God is present to heal.If you are saved I expect you to act like you are saved.Faith without works is dead. If you are healed I expectyou to act like you are healed. Try to do something youcould not do before I prayed. If you could not see, start see-ing. If you could not walk, start walking. If you could nothear, start hearing. If you could not bend that joint, startbending it.You close your eyes, open your heart. Begin talking to
