As a class you have selected as your graduation theme God’s words as recorded in Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrifi ed; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”In this chapter, Joshua has just taken over the leadership of Israel and God is charging him with his task to lead God’s people into the land God is giving them. He is also reminding Joshua that he is to be careful to do all that he has been commanded in the laws given from God to Israel. Th is command also sets the context for your life as Christians today. You are to study, know and apply

God’s law to your life and do that with confi dence.God does not make that task something Joshua or you are to do in your own strength. In His grace and love He assures you that He will be with you wherever you go. Th at enables you to never be afraid or discouraged but rather to be strong and courageous. As you go from Grade 12 into the next phase of life keep these words, these fi rm promises in mind and be fi lled with the confi dence to enter “the land” beyond Grade 12.Derek Stoff elsPrincipal

Th is spring the parents of BVCS approved the fi nal version of a graduate profi le. While it is understood that our grads are unique individuals who are at various stages in their faith life, it is the hope of our teachers, parents, and supporters that aft er twelve years of Christian education our grads possess at least some of the ideals we have for them. It is our hope that they “have mastered the foundational skills necessary for their unique calling in life;” that they “are responsive disciples of Jesus Christ who live with the realization that all of life is meant to be lived in service to Christ;” that they “are committed to actions that are socially
