Please stay in touch. Feel free to stop by and join us for Mass at St. Francis in Knowlton or St. John’s in Peplin once in a while. It’s only a half hour from St. Max’s. Masses are 4:30 PM on Saturday and 8:30 AM Sunday at St. Francis and 10:00 AM on Sunday at St. John’s or just stop by to say hell. I now have a new email address [email protected] that will be permanent. Let’s not say good-bye but rather until we see each other again. You will remain in my love and in my prayers. Please keep me in your prayers. Sincerely in Christ, —Fr. Jim Trempe

Well, it is hard to believe. My time here at St Max’s has come to an end, but as the song says, “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.” It’s a new beginning for me at St. Francis and St. John’s Parishes and it’s a new beginning for you at St. Max’s. Whether it’s a beginning or an end or any time in between, Jesus Christ is there. As the scriptures tell us, He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I hope I have always boldly and proudly proclaimed Jesus Christ from the beginning of my tenure to the end. Never be ashamed of your faith in Jesus Christ. Be proud. We have much to be proud of, and I have certainly been proud to serve you as your pastor. I am grateful to have been your pastor these past four years. There is so much I would love to say, but I wouldn’t even know where I would begin. You people are amazing, and Jesus has done much through you. There is so much the Lord has done these years. There has been so many volunteers, from committees to societies to working the dinners and everything in between. There has been many CCD classes, meetings and prayer services just to name a few. The Tuesday evening adult faith studies have been a real blessing for me, and, I believe, for those who attended. I cannot even begin to say how much has been done. How much the Lord has accomplished through us. We have been blessed. I have been blessed. I’d like to thank folks by name, but out of fear of missing someone, I won’t do that. I appreciate all those who have served the parish so faithfully. Your guidance, leadership, advice, support, time, dedication and hard work is most appreciated. I will conclude where I started four years ago. This is the conclusion of my first bulletin I wrote to you back in 2013. “As I mentioned to you two weeks ago in my paper pulpit, I will be praying for you, the people at St. Max’s and I ask you that you pray for me that I be a good and holy pastor. The words of St. Paul as he wrote to the people at Corinth (chapters 3 and 4) “Not that ourselves are qualified to take credit for anything; rather from God, who has indeed qualified us a ministers of a new covenant,” and “We do not preach ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord.” As a minister of the new covenant, I must be deeply rooted in Jesus Christ and that comes through prayer.” I hope and prayed that I have been deeply rooted in Jesus Christ and that I have been a good and holy pastor. I pray that I have always pointed you to Jesus, and I hope I helped you on your way to heaven. I am not perfect, and I apologize if I have ever gotten in the way of that.

We anticipate arriving at 9:30am. Please pack a lunch. We can eat at the Grotto’s outdoor pavilion or go to nearby Wisconsin Dairy State Cheese and eat there. They have indoor and outdoor seating. "##During the weekend of July 1st – 2nd you will be able to enjoy some cool summer treats while helping a program that has made a huge impact on veterans across our state. WISCONSIN NEVER FORGOTTEN HONOR FLIGHT This program was initially designated to take veterans from World War I and II to Washington DC to visit the war memorials and other historical landmarks. It’s very emotional and healing. The cost to these veterans is a great big “0” but they must travel with a guardian. Their cost is around $500. Sometimes this cost can keep a veteran from taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity. The Military Ministry of our parish would like to sponsor at least one or more guardians. SO, on July 1st and 2nd we will be serving a variety of tasty, cool and refreshing summer treats. It will be a free will offering, so give generously. Anyone wishing to help with the treats may contact Mary at 715-340-7217 or Dianne at 715-383-6006. All proceeds will help support this worthy program. Hope to see you there!

During June, July & August, please call the parish office before coming in to the church. With no resident priest, there may be some flexibility in hours, and we would hate for you to come and no one be here.
