SPRING ROAD TRIP

On Saturday, April 12 , 2014 we traveled to Hobart, Indiana to view Pete Todo’s Car Collection andth

Memorabilia Museum. Pete owns an old 1920's Chrysler Dealership and keeps his collection there. Pete hassome pretty amazing automobiles. He just purchased a 1932 Pierce Arrow. Some of his other vehicles include a1940 12 cylinder Cadillac Convertible, 1932 Packard, a 1954 Corvette, a 1931 12 cylinder Cadillac Convertiblea 1960 Chevy ElCamino and many more. Pete also has quite a collection of bicycles from the 1900's bigwheeled bikes to 1950's motor bikes. There is also quite a collection of neon clocks and cookoo clocks. Pete alsohas some Motor Cycles in his collection. The man has it all !! Pete also served hot dogs, chili dogs and chips fora lite lunch. We shared our time with the Tri-Chevy Car Club and had a nice with them too. After we finishviewing the vehicles we traveled about two miles to a cute 50's diner for lunch. Everyone was invited to join usfor this event. If you didn’t come out you really missed a great time. Maybe next year we will go back and visitPete and his collections again. Thank You Pete for being such a wonderful host and for collecting so many greatand special vehicles as well as all your memorabilia for people like us to see. Thanks Pete....You Are TheGreatest !!!!

CAR SHOW TO BENEFIT THE TOWN OF WASHINGTON, ILLINOIS

The Lemont Classic Car Club is planning a Charity Car Show for the town of Washington, Illinois thatthe tornado destroyed last November. Jim Demopoulos has traveled down to Washington several times himselfto help with some of the clean up and has met with some of the people in charge. They are really in need of helpfinancially as almost the whole town has been damaged in some way from the storm. We are hoping that otherCar Clubs in our area will be willing to jump in and help host one of the biggest car shows in the area with theproceeds going to help these people in real need of assistance. The show will be on Sunday, August 17 fromth

noon to 5 PM with a rain date of August 31 , in the Shopping Center lot at 79 and Harlem behind Hauntedst th

Trails Mini Golf. We will have a special commemorative medallion for the first 500 registered vehicles. Registration cost will be $20.00 and we will be having a 50/50 and a special raffle to help raise funds for thepeople of Washington, Illinois. We will be in need of raffle prizes for the Show so we are hoping that we can getsome TV Stations and Businesses to help us promote this special Benefit Car Show. So if are willing to help andhave some ideas please come out to our Monday night meetings at the Lemon Tree Restaurant as we aregathering information and ideas there. Watch our website for more information as it becomes available. Thiswill be our biggest event since our Monte Fiori Car Show in August of 2010. We really want this to be a BIG EVENT because these people really need our help.

First Saturday Cruise Night Was A Success

Our first Saturday Cruise night, on May 24 , was quite successful. We hosted approximately 190th

vehicles and had a $170.00 to the winner with our first 50/50. We will be changing our venue in about 2 weeksand moving to 127 and Lemont Road (State Street) in the south end of the Jewel parking lot behind the Burgerth

King restaurant. The church could not get enough of their church congregation to work in the kitchen so theywill not be opening up the church. That means no bathrooms and no food.!!. We will be at the church on 134th

and Bell Road until we have acquired all of our permits. When we are ready to move and have a moving dateset it will be posted on our website at lemontclassiccarclub.org and we will be announcing it at our Saturday Cruise Nights. We hope that everyone will be happy with our new venue. There is a Burger King, a JapaneseRestaurant and a Pizza place right there and across the street there is a Jimmy John’s sandwich shop, a StarbucksCoffee shop and a Sports Bar and Grill. Just down the street there is a McDonalds, a new Hardys (not open yet),a Dunkin Donuts shop, a Mexican restaurant, Illinois Bar And Grill (you can call ahead and your food will beready for pick up) and the Lemon Tree Restaurant. There is also a Kentucky Fried Chicken across the street fromthe Jewels. So there are plenty of food choices. We really enjoyed our time at the Christ Community Churchand we are sorry that it has to end. The grounds were really great and the food and bathrooms were greatlyappreciated. But all good things must come to an end !!! We were glad to be there for the 2 ½ years and wethank the church for everything they did for us and we hope that we brought them something special andunique in return. It was great while it lasted !!!
