BINGO CHAIRPERSON & BINGO CALLER

NEEDED TO START BINGO! Delores Cebula, who has been our wonderful volunteer Bingo Chairperson for many years (thanks

Delores), has moved out of the area. So, the Senior Center is in need of a volunteer(s) that would be

interested in taking over the chairperson role. Below are the requirements for the chairperson posi-

tion. Per the State of Michigan, we are not limited to just one chairperson. So, if we have multiple

volunteers we can spread the weekly duties out between the multiple people/weeks. For instance, if

you are the chairperson you are NOT allowed to play Bingo as well, but if we have multiple volun-

teers then you can play Bingo on the weeks that you are not acting as the chairperson. Please call

RETIRED JEWISH GUYS POKER GAME…

RETIRED JEWISH BUDDIES, LEONARD EPSTEIN, NORMAN FEINGOLD, STUART WILHEIM, MARSHALL RACHLEFT...AND SY ROCHOWSKI… LIVING IN FLORIDA, WERE PLAYING POKER IN THE CONDO CLUBHOUSE WHEN ROCHOWSKI LOSES $500.00 ON A SINGLE HAND, CLUTCHES HIS CHEST, AND DROPS DEAD AT THE TABLE. SHOWING RESPECT FOR THEIR FALLEN COMRAD, THE OTHER GUYS CONTINUE PLAYING, BUT, “ STANDING UP.” AT THE END OF THE GAME, WILHELM LOOKS AROUND AND ASKS, “SO, WHO’S GONNA TELL HIS WIFE?” MARSHALL RACHLEFT CUTS THE CARDS. LEONARD EPSTEIN PICKS THE LOW CARD AND HAS TO CAR-RY THE NEWS….NORMAN FEINGOLD TELLS HIM TO BE DISCREET, BE GENTLE, DON’T MAKE THE SITU-ATION ANY WORSE. “DISCRETE? “ I’M THE MOST DISCREET PERSON YOU’LL EVER MEET. DISCRETION IS MY MIDDLE NAME…LEAVE IT TO ME.” SAYS EPSTEIN.… SO, EPSTEIN GOES OVER TO THE ROCHOWSKI’S CONDO AND KNOCKS ON THE DOOR…THE WIFE AN-SWERS THROUGH THE DOOR AND ASKS WHAT HE WANTS?? EPSTEIN DECLARES, “YOUR HUSBAND JUST LOST $500 IN A POKER GAME AND IS AFRAID TO COME HOME.” “TELL HIM TO DROP DEAD!” YELLS THE WIFE. “I’LL GO TELL HIM,” SAYS EPSTEIN.

WE THANK THE ‘UNKNOWN AUTHOR’ FOR THIS ENTERTAINING PROSE..

LEGEND OF ‘THE CLAY BALLS’

A MAN WAS EXPLORING CAVES BY THE SEASHORE. IN ONE OF THE CAVES HE FOUND A CANVAS BAG WITH A BUNCH OF HARDENED CLAY BALLS. IT WAS LIKE SOMEONE HAD ROLLED CLAY BALLS AND LEFT THEM

OUT IN THE SUN TO BAKE. AS HE STROLLED ALONG THE BEACH, HE WOULD THROW THE CLAY BALLS ONE AT A TIME OUT INTO THE OCEAN AS FAR AS HE COULD. HE THOUGHT LITTLE ABOUT IT, UNTIL HE DROPPED ONE OF THE CLAY BALLS AND IT CRACKED OPEN ON A ROCK. INSIDE WAS A BEAUTIFUL PRECIOUS STONE!

EXCITED, THE MAN STARTED BREAKING OPEN THE REMAING BALLS. EACH CONTAINED A SIMILAR TREASURE. HE FOUND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF JEWELS IN THE

20 OR SO CLAY BALL HE HAD LEFT. THEN IT STRUCK HIM.HE HAD BEEN ON THE BEACH A LONG TIME. HE HAD THROWN MAYBE 50 OR 60 OF THE CLAY BALLS WITH THEIR HIDDEN TREASURE INTO THE OCEAN WAVES. INSTEAD OF THOUSANDS OF

DOLLARS IN TREASURE, HE COULD HAVE TAKEN HOME..TENS OF THOUSANDS, BUT, HE HAD JUST THROWN IT AWAY!

IT’S LIKE THAT WITH PEOPLE. WE LOOK AT SOMEONE, MAYBE EVEN OURSELVES, AND WE SEE THE EXTERI-

OR CLAY VESSEL. IT DOESN ‘T LOOK LIKE MUCH FROM THE OUTSIDE. IT ISN’T ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL OR SPARKLING, SO WE DISCOUNT IT. WE SEE THAT PERSON AS LESS IMPORTANT AS SOMEONE MORE BEAUTI-FUL OR STYLISH OR WELL KNOWN OR WEALTHY, BUT WE HAVE NOT TAKEN THE TIME TO FIND THE TREAS-

URE HIDDEN INSIDE THAT PERSON.

THERE IS A TREASURE IN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US. IF WE TAKE THE TIME TO GET TO KNOW THAT PERSON, AND IF WE ASK ‘GOD’ TO SHOW US THAT PERSON THE WAY ‘HE’ SEES THEM, THEN THE CLAY BE-

GINS TO PEEL AWAY AND THE BRILLIANT GEM BEGINS TO SHINE FORTH. MAY WE NOT COME TO THE END OF OUR LIVES AND FIND OUT THAT WE HAVE THROWN AWAY A FORTUNE IN FRIENDSHIPS BECAUSE THE GEMS WERE HIDDEN IN BITS OF CLAY. MAY WE SEE THE PEOPLE IN OUR

WORLD AS ‘GOD’ SEES THEM.

WE THANK THE ‘UNKNOWN AUTHOR’ FOR THIS PROSE…

What Is Pulmonary Rehabilitation? Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a program for people with chronic lung disease. These diseases may include emphysema, chronic bronchitis, asthma, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease and post COVID19 side-effects.

What Are The Goals Of Pulmonary Rehab?

The purpose of Pulmonary Rehab is to help people lead a full, satisfying life and restore them to their highest functional capacity.

The Specific Goals Of Pulmonary Rehab Are To Improve Quality Of Life By:

Decreasing respiratory symptoms and complications

Encouraging self-management and control over daily functioning

Improving physical conditioning and exercise performance

Improving emotional well-being

Reducing hospitalizations

What Is A Team Approach?

American Therapy Centers is a Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility (CORF). As such, we can incorporate different services in our Pulmonary Rehab Program. Our Respiratory Thera-pists and Physical Therapists work together to create an individualized plan of treatment for each patient. This plan is then approved by the patient’s referring physician. The physician is updated throughout the patient’s program on the progress being made.

What Do I Need to Know About Participating?

There are many differences in the scheduling, length, and individual components of the program. Medicare and other insurance plans provide varying levels of coverage. If you are interested, dis-cuss this with your healthcare provider. Ask about information from your insurance program.

“We look forward to working with you on achieving a healthier way of living!”
