2 Welcome to St. Margaret Mary Parish

Ministry Care for the Elderly, Sick & Homebound

We are a parish family. There are times when we are no longer able to come to church on a regular basis whether due to sick-ness or physical ailments. We have a program for the care of the sick & homebound. At this time we are particularly interested in those who might be in need of this ministry. Please contact Mary at the parish center, 461-6073 or Deacon Frank at 262-385-5696.

God has called Marian Osmanski to eternal life. Please pray for Marian and her family and friends. May Marian and all the faithful departed rest in the peace of the Lord.

COMBINED COLLECTIONS: CHURCH IN THE UNITED STATES

Your contribution to the Combined Collections: The Church in the United States aids the work of the National Religious Retirement Office, Catholic Communication Campaign, Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic University of America, and Black and Indian Mission. Please be generous in your support. You may mail in your contribution or bring it to Mass and drop it in the collection basket.

Please join us! After the masses for hospitality

on Saturday June 30 &

Sunday July 1, to welcome Fr. Patrick Nelson,

SDS, to the St. Margaret Mary

Parish Community.

Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Have you ever felt judged by your family? St. John Paul II noted that the family "is the cradle of life and love" (On the Lay Members of Christ's Faithful, 40). Yet unmet expecta-tions and divergent priorities can cause tension in even the most loving family situations. This is true for us, and it was true for Jesus!

In today's Gospel, Jesus has returned home to Nazareth. A large crowd gathered, and Jesus finds himself facing stiff opposition from his family. This was likely Jesus' large, extended family. The Semitic language has no specific words for extended relatives, so everyone is "brother" or "sister." The entire clan has gotten wind of Jesus' preaching, and they are not amused. "They set out to seize him, for they said, 'He is out of his mind.'" To make matters worse, the religious authorities even accuse Jesus of being pos-sessed by a demon. It's a mess by any standards.

The family's perspective is perhaps understandable. In Jew-ish culture, teachers and scribes underwent intensive schooling and apprenticeships, none of which Jesus had done. The family knew Jesus the carpenter, not Jesus the rabbi. For them, Jesus' bold preaching threatened the reputa-tion of their family!

Jesus' words to his family can seem controversial. "Who are my mother and my brothers?" Yet Jesus knows what he is about. He has always known he would be about the busi-ness of his Heavenly Father. And what is that business? It is the business of the new covenant and the Kingdom of God. In this Kingdom, we are all adopted sons and daughters of the King. Jesus begins, even now, to expand the perspective of his listeners. Being welcomed into this family does not depend on our families of birth or ethnic origin, but a wholehearted commitment to "do the will of God."

We need YOU! Our parish depends on the volunteer service of many helping hands. Adult servers for funerals & weekend Mass. Youth Servers (boys and gir ls 4th grade and up, including high school) Sacristans Call 414-461-6073 for more information and to offer your services!

Sunday collection counters: While we call them "auditors," these folks are basically people just like you who assist with gathering up the weekend collections, counting the money, and safely depositing same at the bank. Archdiocesan and insurance regulations require that this process be done in a weekly, timely fashion by disinterested, parish volunteers--NOT PARISH STAFF OR EMPLOYEES! So, this is a serious request for you to consider joining a team of fellow parishioners to expedite this necessary, weekly duty. The goal is rotating teams, so that you would not be on duty more than once every three weeks, usually Monday mornings at 8:15am.

We are looking for eight volunteer Catechists to join our growing Faith Formation program for this coming school year. Training, materials, and on-going support are provid-ed. Classes will be small and you will be working with an-other adult at all times in the classroom. You don’t need to be a professional teacher to assist. All that is needed is a willing heart. We are looking for two Catechists each for the following four grade levels: First Reconciliation/First Communion, 5th

-6th Grade, 7th-8th Grade, and a new 12th

Grade offering that will meet only once per month. If you are interested or would like to know more details, please contact Dave Liccione at 414-573-9292 or e-mail [email protected]. Serving as a Catechist is a wonder-ful way to donate your time and talent in service to Christ and His Church. Are You a Hero?

One in three people relies on a blood transfusion at some point in their life. You can be a hero to your community – and beyond –

by donating blood at our upcoming blood drive.

EACH DONOR WILL BE ENTERED INTO A DAI-LY STATEWIDE MARCUS MOVIE PASS DRAWING FOR A CHANCE TO WIN MARCUS MOVIE PASSES FOR A WHOLE YEAR (2 PER MONTH)! To make an appointment call 1-877-232-4376.

Thank You

We would like to thank all families who came to the Family Fun Night and Home/School advisory meeting. We are so blessed to have your support throughout the school year. Celebrating the School’s Mission

Our students have worked hard throughout the school year to achieve the school’s mission. In celebration of their hard work, students enjoyed outdoor roller-skating and a field trip to the Betty Brinn Museum. We are so proud of your accomplish-ments! Last Day of School The last day of school for all students will be Monday, June 11th, 2018. We wish our school community a blessed and safe summer vacation. We will see you again on the first day of school for the 2018-19 school year on Monday, August 27, 2018. Call for Volunteers

We are in need of school volunteers for the 2018-19 School Year. The United States Flag

As we look at the flag of our country, let us always remember its true meaning,

for a flag without meaning is only a piece of cloth. The red of our flag stands for valor and bravery

like that of those who fought to protect our freedoms. White signifies purity and innocence, as that of our Founding Fathers’ intent

to secure the rights of all. Blue signifies vigilance, perseverance, and justice,

as all are needed in any government to secure the blessings of God.

And as our stars and stripes point to the stars of the heavens and the rays of the sun, let us never forget that our country must depend

upon God’s blessing and protection.
