Under the logo of the elephant JUMBO develops and manufactures customised technical textiles for all different kinds of applications. While in the beginning the company focused strictly on yard ware in the narrow textile segment, for instance cords, tapes and braids, today high-tech solutions, often in combination with non-textile components, expand our portfolio.

Environmental management according to DIN EN ISO 14001As a future-oriented company with a long tradition we feel a special obligation towards the preservation of our environment. Our efficient manufacturing methods are geared towards sustainability. This has been rewarded with the certification according to the environmental management standard DIN EN ISO 14001. All raw materials we use meet the environmental guidelines of the Euro-pean Union. On request we manufacture according to the Oeko-Tex 100 standard.

High availability Thanks to our modern machinery we are able to manufacture quickly and reliably. Having our own mechanical engineering department makes us independent and ensures the high availability of our diverse product portfolio.

Maximum safety, even under extreme conditions – that is what our textile solutions for different applications in many technical sectors are about, offering products that may be round, flat, elastic or non-elastic.

Braided elastic cords / elastic ropesOur specific expertise is in the development, calculation and manu-facture of elastic ropes with a diameter of up to 40 mm. These items are used in crane construction, in crash facilities, sport and game equipment, rescue equipment, door and gate systems as well as protective covering. In these applications many specifications have to be met: stress-strain characteristics, number of cycles, flexibility at low temperatures, etc.

We have the proper test systems: climatic chambers, customer- specific long-term tests and test equipment to record stress-strain curves. We use our expert knowledge of fasteners – for instance cable sockets and capsules – to create safe solutions in the field of cushioning and force transmission.

Diverse areas of application: from container cranes to trampolinesThe results of our work are taken in many different areas of appli-cation: In bungee trampolines our special rubber cables support the children’s movements, replacing conventional springs. There are fixed minimum extensions as well as regulations meant to reduce sheath slippage. We also provide elastic emergency release cords for sliding doors or as support for rapid action doors.

Technical textiles from JUMBO can withstand such environmental impacts as saltwater and extreme temperatures, and they can be conductive.

Innovative materials with specifically defined stress-strain behaviour for bandages and orthoses form the basis of preventative , post-operative and therapeutic applications in sports, in clinical care and in long-term orthopaedic therapy.

JUMBO products provide compression and stabilisation of the musculature and bone structure in complex applications for the areas of foot / ankle joint, knee, back, cervical spine, arm / shoulder and hand.

Many of our products are applied in aids with a long product life and unqualified wearing comfort – aids which have been approved by the health insurance companies. In coordination with our customers we offer pre-cutting and tailoring services upon request.Our cooperation with medical institutes and engineering firms and our presence at international trade fairs make us an interesting and expert partner in the market.

By providing accessories for clothing JUMBO laid the foundation for its corporate development. To this day we work for many customers in this segment – for fashion brands as well as manufacturers of protective clothing and workwear.

Ready-to-wear clothing, workwear and functional clothingProducts from JUMBO are an integral part of clothing. We satisfy such requirements as water-repellent or low-shrink material as well as leasable items. We comply with conventional industry standards as a matter of course. In addition to classic narrow textiles, our innovative solutions are much in demand, e.g. our elastic gap coverings, which are not only used in clothing but also in technical fields, and our bi-elastic knitted fabrics and tubes.

The finishing contributes crucially towards the overall impression. In this area we possess comprehensive know-how, too.

Technical applicationsPrinting and paper industry:We produce low-resin corner straps for folders – made of elastic cords or braids fitted with metal toggles from special material.Paperbooks contain pencil holders and locking mechanisms with rubber braids as well as braided bookmarks whose colour matches the rubber braid. In laboratory tests, we check whether the required level of elasticity has been achieved.On the popular three-month-to-view wall calendars, the track along which the day indicator moves is kept together by an elastic braid or cord from JUMBO. We manufacture braided cords in different colours and of any desired length for upmarket carrying bags, in-cluding versions with ready-made fastening systems. As far as colour is concerned, thanks to our use of textured polyester yarns we can fulfil almost any customer request.

Home and contract textiles / furniture industry and other sectors:Our elastic tapes with buttonholes can be applied in different areas – wherever adjustments in length are desired. In this case we can do without special fastening systems.We are able to set different hole sizes (slots) and specific distances between holes on our machines.

Special JUMBO items have soft edges, minimising the danger of getting hurt. Therefore they are also suitable for products for children. Moreover, we can offer items which can be used with sensitive grounds / surfaces.

Systems which have a long product life and are easy to scale are the central focus of our textile solutions for the automotive industry. We can implement new trends in colours, shapes and materials in market-driven product solutions.

Seats and seating systemsWhen it comes to seats and seating systems, JUMBO systems make it possible for people to sit down comfortably and safely in their vehicles. One of our areas of expertise is in fastening and retaining straps and braids, e.g. to tighten and position seat covers. Narrow textiles in combination with plastic and metal are in de-mand, for instance as functional elements in seats. In addition, we manufacture various release straps. InteriorIn the interior, elastic tapes and braids are used, amongst other things, to close map and door pockets.JUMBO products are also used as storage and utensil pockets as well as nets at all different kinds of places.

Luggage compartmentWe develop narrow textile components for intelligent storage systems in luggage compartments, for instance large anchorage and fastening systems with plastic and metal parts. A good ex-ample of an innovative fastener is our tightening strap. The materials can be bonded through sewing, pressing, hooking, welding and injection moulding.

Textile components combine narrow textiles with plastic or metal elements. This generates innovative combinations of materials which are often used in the automotive sector, amongst other areas of application.

Textile materials with plastic and metal componentsThe materials can be bonded through injection moulding, pressing or sewing. At the tailoring various processes are used for cutting (heat, cold and ultrasonic). Textiles are also sewn and die cut. Over-moulding of narrow textiles is also possible.
