    SSpecial Notice to Contractors

    Effective with the August 26, 2011, Letting, the

    Department intends to discontinue the practice of providing electronic bidding files (.ebs files) to

    prospective bidders via 3.5” diskettes. The electronic bidding files and any amendment files will be available for download at the Project Letting Information Page of

    the Department’s website at www.dot.state.al.us.

    Upon implementation, it is the bidder’s responsibility to transmit electronic bidding files and amendments,

    including unit bid prices, utilizing an acceptable digital storage media sealed within the bidder’s envelope or via

    the Department’s approved Internet Bidding Service Provider (BidExpress).

    Currently acceptable digital storage media include

    3.5” diskettes, compact discs, and USB fIash drives.
