Twenty for 2020: During our January training and planning retreat, we were reminded of our need to deepen our prayer life in 2020. On the 20th day of every month, we will dedicate ourselves to pray for at least TWO MINUTES for Bethel to seek God diligently, serve God faithfully, and obey God quickly and we will offer up to 20 MINUTES to offer prayers for our General Conference proposing an amicable separation around inclusion of LGBTQ persons as well as prayers for the Global Church. Everyone is encouraged to connect with a prayer partner in person, in the Bethel Sanctuary, via email, or phone. We are stronger together!

*Update* Children’s Consignment Sale Donations: The date is now TBD however, we are still accepting donations!!! Bethel Christian Preschool is a “seller” with the OJR Infant – Teen Consignment Sale taking place March 28th at the OJR Middle School from 8:00 am – 12:30 pm. We are accepting donations of items suitable for the sale which would benefit BCP’s Scholarship Fund.  Please label donations “BCP Sale” and place in room 201 across from the Church office by March 22nd. Acceptable items:  spring/summer clothing, shoes, sports equipment, toys, infant items, trendy adult size items for teens, games, and spring home décor. Matthew 25 Ministries: As a new mission project, we will be collecting empty pill bottles. Both prescription and over-the-counter bottles of any size are acceptable, as well we those with or without child-resistant caps. These pill bottles are then sent with medical supplies to developing countries and used to distribute pills to the people in need of medicine. Bottles that cannot be used are recycled. If you are able, please remove the labels from the bottles prior to donating them. There is a box on the mission table in the top lobby for donations. A Note From Pastor Hines: Hello, Bethel! Thank you all for remaining a church that is patient and kind in such a time as this. There are countless stories of persons at Bethel caring for each other and watching over one another in love.  If you have a need or know of someone who does, please let us know. Those who are able are continuing to give to the ongoing expenses of the church with grateful hearts. Those who serve are also continuing to do so, faithfully and often sacrificially. We praise God from whom ALL blessings flow!By now, it has dawned on us that we will not be able to come to worship INDEFINITELY. All services and activities are postponed until further notice. Last week, however, with the help of TEAM Bethel, all else moved forward, quickly. By Sunday morning the message was recorded and available on the website - Bethelumchurch.com – along with the written text (and bulletins). It can also be found on YouTube (Bethel UMC – and Sunday’s date), and Facebook. An adult class was held via teleconference at 9 a.m.. A children’s message was on Facebook live at 10 a.m. and can be accessed any time. The April Banner will be emailed this week. All these ways to worship and share together as one body of beloved believers are in place for tomorrow and, as much possible, for the duration of this season of sheltering in place.

In the meantime, let the words of I Peter 5b-9 resound in each heart:“All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,

“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”[a]

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7   Cast all your anxiety on him   because he cares for you.
