Membership Fees 2013 are:

£7.50 — Single Annual Membership for non-life

members aged 16 and over.

£75.00 – Single Life Membership for anyone aged 16

and over.

This year’s Shanidev Katha & Hanuman Chalisa

was held on Saturday 27th April at Stonehill

High School, Birstall; and was an event attend-

ed by around 250 people.

Everyone enjoyed the Punjan of Shanidev &

Hanumanji and also the Maha Prashadi.

The Samaj is deeply grateful to everyone who

gave generously in the way of donations; and

they extend their thanks to all Yajman who

took part in the puja and also to all the mem-

bers who attended this event.

The Management Committee express a special

thanks to all volunteers who gave up their time

to attend early to setup.

Congratulations

Mrs. Hansaben Natubhai Pancholi

Who swam 42 lengths (equivalent to 1.25 km), at

the age of 72, to raise money for the Marie Currie

Cancer Care.

In doing so she raised £145 for that charity.

Fresh Ideas for our Growing generation! Communication and technology has rapidly advanced over the last few years and the way information can now be received and exchanged has given the Pancholi Samaj food for thought. Email and most recently Social Networking has revolutionised the way we communicate with each other. We are looking to make some changes to the way that we communicate with you, the Pancholi Samaj UK. As we are all aware everyone is struggling in today’s economic climate and hearing of organisations facing cutback is not uncommon. This brings us onto the Pancholi Samaj and particular the Pancholi Samaj newsletters. Currently the Samaj is spending on average £900 per year on newsletter (Printing & Postage). We believe that the Samaj’s funds be used wisely in every way possible, and thus one of the areas we are focusing on is in reducing newsletter cost. Eliminating waste is one of the key ways in which we can reduce our cost. Currently all members receive both an English and Gujarati version. By giving members the option to select the langusge and format of the newsletter which is best for them it will assist us greatly when it comes to determining the printing quantities.
