The Malankara Catholic Ma-
jor Archiepiscopal church
founded by St. Thomas the
Apostle, is a community hav-
ing a glorious liturgical heri-
tage and a sacred ecclesial
tradition. It is a community of
faith, fellowship and hope.
This church transforms the
faithful with gospel values
and sends them to renew the
world. We believe that in this
community Christ lived yes-
terday, lives today and will
live tomorrow. It is our duty
to announce this great mes-
sage and invite all the faithful
to come in touch with Jesus
in word and sacraments, the
source of the church’s life.
I believe that the News Letter
is designed to enhance the
dedication and vitality of our
community by sharing the
experience of liturgical cele-

We were blessed to have His
Grace Most Rev. Dr. Tho-
mas Mar Koorilos, the met-
ropolitan archbishop of Ti-
ruvalla, to visit our parish on
June 07, 2009. His Grace
celebrated the Holy Mass
with the parish and deliv-
ered an inspiring homily,
where he called upon all of
us to evaluate our priorities
in life, and give a resolute
answer to the divine Chris-
tian call each of us have
been called to live for.
After the Holy Mass, His
Grace spent some time
with the parish members,
where all the parish mem-
bers got an opportunity to
greet him in person and to
be blessed by His Grace.
His visit greatly inspired
us, and renewed the love
and affection we have for
our Syro-Malankara catho-
lic roots.

The MCYM (Malankara
Catholic Youth Movement)
is a good platform to shape
the future of the Malankara
Catholic Church. As youth
members of the Malankara
Catholic Church, we do play
a significant role in the
growth and development of
our Church. We are called to
be living witnesses of
Christ, and to stand firm in
our faith.
One of the greatest chal-
lenges that we as a youth
face today, especially in
North America, is the atheis-
tic ideas that saturate popu-
lar culture in the forms of
music, literature, and other
forms of media. Despite
this, we can still see an en-
thusiasm among the youth in
the MCYM to experience
God’s love through partici-
pation in mass, adoration,
prayer meetings, bible stud-
